The lack of knowledge and the level of spiritual deficiency in my hometown continues to astound me. The following text is a perfect example.
Matthew 18:10 (KJV)
"Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven."
Jesus was not referring children in the previous verse, He was speaking about His loyal followers; those who truly believe in Him and love Him, with the awe inspired innocence of a child. His disciples,' whom He calls, angels are always before the LORD. Being taught to hate, children can be just as hateful as anyone else. Does God love children? Of course He does. God loves all people. But that by no means signifies that He favors all; not even children:

"Watch that you don't treat a single one of these childlike believers arrogantly. You realize, don't you, that their personal angels are constantly in touch with my Father in heaven?"
It's good to read the Word, but it does no good if you don’t understand what you read. Again, some translations of the Bible offer amazing clarity, if you seek it.
Acts 10 (NLT)
³⁴Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. ³⁵In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right."
I would rather that my hometown's behavior were due to innocent ignorance than willful mockery of God's Word. Nevertheless, to base "your faith" on whether or not a ball-game is won or lost is beyond foolishness. Far be it from me; but, ball-games can be stolen. Yet, even as I give thought to these things, God reminds me that because this is my hometown, their behavior must be so because it is written.
