You should NEVER compare yourself to other Christian's because there is no such thing as one person being MORE spiritual than another in God's eyes . You are His beloved child and He HAS given to you gifts, you just need to speak to your Pastor in showing you how to bring those gifts out. I would question if your friend is REALLY hearing from God, because the Holy Spirit would bear witness to what was said to you. You have to be careful in what people tell you because the flesh gets in the way sometimes.
