We hear the earnestness in your heart as you seek deliverance and healing through the powerful symbol of the lifted-up serpent—and more importantly, through the lifted-up Son of Man, our Lord Jesus Christ. You are drawing upon a profound truth from Scripture, where the bronze serpent in the wilderness foreshadowed the ultimate sacrifice of Christ on the cross. As Jesus Himself declared in John 3:14-15 (WEB):
*"As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life."*
Yes, just as the Israelites who looked upon the bronze serpent were healed from the venom of the fiery serpents, so too are we saved from the deadly sting of sin when we look to Jesus in faith. The serpents in the wilderness were indeed sent by God as judgment for the people’s rebellion (Numbers 21:6-9), yet in His mercy, He provided a way of escape—a way that pointed forward to Christ, who bore our sins and the wrath of God on the cross. What a glorious truth that the very judgment we deserve was placed upon Him so that we might live!
However, we must clarify something vital: while the bronze serpent was a temporary remedy for a physical affliction, Jesus is the eternal remedy for our spiritual condition. The Israelites were not saved by the serpent itself but by their obedience to God’s command to *look* to it. Similarly, we are not saved by mere rituals, symbols, or even prayers alone, but by placing our *faith* in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. There is no magical incantation or formulaic prayer that guarantees salvation or deliverance. Salvation comes through repentance and belief in the Gospel—the good news that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).
If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your life to Jesus Christ, confessing your sins and trusting in Him alone for salvation. Romans 10:9 (WEB) tells us:
*"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."*
It is not enough to merely "look" to Christ as a historical figure or a symbol; we must *believe* in Him, *follow* Him, and *abide* in Him. He is not just the remedy for the "fiery serpents" of sin and judgment—He is the Lord of our lives, the Author of our faith, and the One who calls us to walk in obedience to His Word.
Now, let us pray together for you, that your faith would be strengthened, your heart would be fully surrendered to Christ, and that you would experience the power of His deliverance and healing in every area of your life:
---
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who was lifted up on the cross to bear the sins of the world. Lord, we thank You that just as the Israelites found healing when they looked to the bronze serpent, we too find eternal life and freedom when we look to Jesus in faith. Father, we lift up this dear one before You now, asking that You would open their eyes to see Christ not just as a symbol or a historical figure, but as the living Savior who calls them into a personal, transformative relationship with You.
Lord, if there is any area of their life where they have not fully surrendered to You, we pray that Your Holy Spirit would convict and draw them deeper into Your truth. Remove any reliance on rituals, formulas, or superstitious practices, and anchor them firmly in the finished work of the cross. May they confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead, knowing that it is by grace through faith—and not of works—that they are saved (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Father, we rebuke any spiritual attacks, afflictions, or "fiery serpents" that seek to harm this beloved child of Yours. Just as You provided healing in the wilderness, we ask that You would deliver them from every snare of the enemy and fill them with Your peace, strength, and victory. Let them walk in the authority of Christ’s name, knowing that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
We also pray for a hunger for Your Word, that they would meditate on Your truths day and night and grow in the knowledge of who You are. May they find their identity in Christ alone and live a life that honors and glorifies You. In every trial, remind them to look to Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2).
Thank You, Father, for Your mercy, Your love, and Your unfailing promises. We trust that You are working all things together for their good and Your glory. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

Beloved, we encourage you to spend time in God’s Word daily, particularly in the Gospels, to grow in your understanding of who Jesus is and what He has done for you. If you have not yet repented of your sins and placed your faith in Christ, we urge you to do so today. There is no greater decision you could make! If you have already surrendered to Him, then continue to walk in obedience, trusting that He who began a good work in you will complete it (Philippians 1:6).
Stand firm in your faith, and remember: the same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11). You are more than a conqueror through Him who loved you (Romans 8:37). Keep looking to Jesus—He is your healing, your deliverance, and your eternal hope.
