Shalom Could you please pray for me, for the spirit of reverence for God in Jesus' name? That I may recognize the Lord Jesus as the Holy One, His majesty, His greatness, His power, His perfection in Jesus' name? Thank you very much, and God bless you in Jesus' name Amen!

We rejoice in your desire to grow in reverence and awe of the Lord Jesus Christ, for this is the beginning of true wisdom. The fear of the Lord is indeed the foundation of a life that pleases Him, and we stand with you in seeking this precious gift from the Holy Spirit.

The Scriptures declare, "The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding" (Proverbs 9:10). Jesus Himself is the Holy One, the radiance of God’s glory, and the exact representation of His nature (Hebrews 1:3). He is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the King of kings and Lord of lords (Revelation 1:8, 17-18; 19:16). To know Him is to stand in awe of His majesty, His power, and His perfect holiness.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Savior and Lord. We lift up our dear brother/sister to You, asking that You would pour out upon them a fresh revelation of Your holiness and majesty. Lord Jesus, we ask that You would open their eyes to see You as You truly are, the Holy One of Israel, the Lamb who was slain, the risen and glorified King, seated at the right hand of the Father.

Father, ignite in their heart a spirit of reverence and godly fear. Let them tremble at Your Word and stand in awe of Your presence. May they never take Your name in vain or treat lightly the sacrifice You made on the cross. Help them to walk in humility before You, recognizing that You are God, and there is none like You.

Lord, we ask that You would deepen their understanding of Your greatness. Show them Your power in creation, Your wisdom in redemption, and Your love in salvation. Let them behold Your perfection in every attribute, Your justice, Your mercy, Your faithfulness, and Your grace. May they be filled with wonder at the mystery of Christ, in whom all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily (Colossians 2:9).

Holy Spirit, we invite You to move in their life, convicting them of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). Help them to walk in holiness, set apart for Your purposes. Guard their heart from complacency or familiarity with the things of God, and instead, let them approach You with the reverence You deserve.

We declare that as they seek You, they will find You (Jeremiah 29:13). As they draw near to You, You will draw near to them (James 4:8). May their life be a living testimony of Your glory, and may they worship You in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, the only Name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). May Your will be done in their life, and may they grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To You be the glory, both now and forever. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, meditating on the attributes of Christ. Study passages like Isaiah 6, Revelation 1, and Hebrews 1 to behold His majesty. Worship Him in spirit and truth, for He is worthy of all praise. As you grow in reverence for the Lord, you will find that your love for Him deepens, and your life is transformed to reflect His glory.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek Him with all your heart. Remember, "The people who know their God will display strength and take action" (Daniel 11:32). Walk in that strength, and let your life be a testament to His greatness.

What a beautiful, simple longing, to stand in awe of Jesus again, to see Him as He truly is. That desire itself is a gift. In all our years of praying with people, we've noticed that the Holy Spirit often plants this kind of hunger when He's ready to deepen our worship, not just as an activity but as a way of seeing. It's rarely a lightning strike; it's more like the slow dawn after a long night, growing steady and sure.

One thing we've found helpful is to begin where you are, not where you think you ought to be. Before you pray, try pausing for just a breath to remember who you're speaking to, not a concept to study, but the living Christ who is right now sustaining every star and every heartbeat. You might find that reading one of the Gospels slowly, lingering in scenes like Peter falling at Jesus' knees after the catch of fish, or the disciples in the boat when the storm went still, quietly reshapes your inner picture. The Spirit works through His word in ways our striving cannot match.

And we're learning together that reverence isn't something we muster up; it's more often our response when we let ourselves actually be small before Him, not in self-loathing but in the security of His care. Mary sitting at His feet had that, she wasn't trying to feel holy, she was simply with Him.

Let us pray for you now:

Lord Jesus, Holy One, we lift our friend to You. Quiet every distraction and self-effort, and grant a true glimpse of Your majesty, the weight of Your glory, the wonder of Your perfection. Let reverence rise in their heart not as strain but as the natural posture of someone met by the living God. In Your powerful name we ask this. Amen.

That very prayer itself, this hunger for a spirit of reverence, this craving to behold His majesty and perfection, is a work of the Spirit drawing you nearer. It is a good and right thing to ask, for the natural man cannot perceive the Glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ; it requires a divine illumination, a command of God who once said, "Let light shine out of darkness," to shine in your heart.

Look to Christ personally. He is the power of God and the wisdom of God from all eternity, the Creator of all things, the brightness of His Father's glory. To know His majesty is not to study a distant attribute, but to gaze upon the Person. In every incident of His life as the Lord's Anointed, there is much of God to be seen. His power is omnipotence disguised in meekness; His perfection is a flawless robe held out to cover every sinner. You want to recognize His greatness? Then consider how great this Man is, that very God of very God, yet bone of our bone. The infinite extent of the riches of His love is past finding out.

Your prayer for reverence is a petition for the Holy Spirit to take of the things of Christ and show them to you. It is a plea that He would give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. Press on in this. True reverence is not slavish fear but the love of the Father directing you into the patience of Christ and the holiness that loves Him supremely. As you see His perfection, not your own, but the perfection that is in Him alone, His silver sandals become yours, His royal crown is on your head in God’s sight. This transforms the heart into reverent wonder.

Go, then, to God as a poor soul crying for more light, and trust Christ Himself. He is both the proof of His gospel and the living power by which it spreads. The prayer you have offered, for the knowledge of the Holy One, will be answered as you behold Him, not as a distant King, but as your very sanctification. May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, grant you this continually: to see the light of the knowledge of the Glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, and so walk in a goodly, soldier-like reverence all your days. Shalom indeed, for in Christ you are complete.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. You ask for the spirit of reverence, to recognize the Lord Jesus as the Holy One in all His majesty, greatness, power, and perfection. This is a noble desire, and it pleases God when we seek to know His Son as He truly is. Yet you must understand that such knowledge does not arise from human effort alone, but is a gift from above. As the Apostle prays, so we pray for you: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the eyes of your understanding may be enlightened to know what is the hope of His calling and the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe.

Consider how far removed we are from the holiness of God. Even the seraphim cover their faces and cry, “Holy, holy, holy,” and the prophet Isaiah, though holy among men, declared himself a man of unclean lips when he beheld the Lord. If we would reverence Christ as the Holy One, we must first grasp the distance between His perfection and our frailty. Humility opens the door to reverence. The apostles themselves, when the people marveled at the healing of the lame man, immediately turned all glory away from themselves: “Why do you stare at us as though by our own power or holiness we had made him walk?” They knew that no man can receive anything unless it is given him from heaven. So it is with true knowledge of Christ: it comes not through intellectual striving but through the Spirit who searches the deep things of God.

Do not think this spirit of reverence will grow in a heart that neglects the Scriptures. The divine words, spoken in the ear by the Spirit, have more power than fire to soften even the hardest soul and make it fit for every good thing. Immerse yourself in the Gospels, where Christ’s majesty shines forth in His works and words. Mark how He commanded demons and they fled, how He stilled the storm, how He forgave sins, all to reveal that the Kingdom had come, that the Stronger had bound the strong one. When you see these things, know that they were not mere human displays but the radiant glory of the only-begotten Son. And as you read, press forward; forget what lies behind and stretch toward the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus. Reverence deepens as you grow in the grace and knowledge of Him.

Beware of any notion that you might attain such reverence by your own holiness. Our holiness, even at its best, is imperfect; we are made holy not merely by refraining from outward sins, but by acquiring the greater things, by the washing of regeneration, the renewing of the Holy Spirit, and a life wholly yielded to God. It is He who establishes your heart unblamable in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints. Therefore, everything depends on His power and grace. Trials and weaknesses, far from hindering, often become the very means by which His power is perfected in us, teaching us lowliness and casting us utterly upon Him.

I join my prayer to yours: that the God of our fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, would glorify His Servant Jesus in your sight. May He grant you to see not with fleshly eyes but with the Spirit, that Christ’s greatness may overshadow all earthly things, His perfection captivate your heart, and His majesty fill you with joyful trembling. Let this be your daily cry: “Lord, reveal Your holiness to me; give me the Spirit of adoption that I may not cower in fear as a slave, but reverence You as a beloved child who knows the Father’s majesty.” The very desire you have expressed is already a work of divine grace, for none can call Jesus Lord except by the Holy Spirit. Press on, and He will complete what He has begun.

The very desire to see Jesus as He truly is comes from His work in your heart, and He will surely honor it.

True knowledge of the Lord Jesus is never just a matter of gathering facts. It comes through the mystery that is Christ in you, the hope of glory. His power is not a distant force to admire from afar; it is the very life of the risen Son dwelling in every believer. The same Spirit who raised Him from the dead now lives in you, giving you everything you need to live in awe of His holiness and to walk in a way that pleases Him. That kind of reverence is not about outward appearances or manmade standards, but a heart that has been captivated by His perfection and transformed by His indwelling presence.

To see His greatness, we must also see His cross. It is there, in the place of utter humility and sacrifice, that the majesty of Christ shines brightest. He who was perfectly holy took our sin upon Himself so that we might be brought near to God. When you catch even a glimpse of that, reverence flows naturally. You begin to count everything else as loss compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Him. And that same cross opens the doorway to resurrection power. The old life that clamors for control is crucified with Him, and the new life of His Spirit rises within you, powerful enough to give victory over every lingering struggle.

So I join you in prayer now. Father, I lift up this dear one who longs to know Jesus as the Holy One, in all His majesty and power. By Your Spirit, grant a deep and abiding reverence that shapes every thought and action. Open the eyes of the heart to behold His perfection, to stand in awe of His greatness, and to rest in the strength of His indwelling life. Let there be real victory over anything that has held Your child back, so that every day becomes a testimony to the power of Christ within. You have promised that the pure in heart will see God; cultivate that purity from the inside out, not by rule-keeping but by a heart fixed on Jesus. May this become a week, and a life, marked by a growing, transforming vision of the Lord Jesus Christ. In His mighty name, Amen.
