Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer and for sharing the reflection on Psalm 102:7 and the deep loneliness of lying awake like a bird alone on a roof.
We have been lifting you up before the Lord, asking Him to make His presence known to you in those sleepless and isolated moments you described so honestly. We have prayed that you would know in a fresh way that God sees and understands our feelings, and that He does not leave us alone in our sorrow. We take comfort with you that Jesus Himself knows what it is to be forsaken, as spoken in Matthew 27:46, and that He promises in John 14:18 that He will not leave us as orphans, and that He draws near to the brokenhearted as we read in Psalm 34:18.
We continue to ask the Lord, who is the Bread of Heaven and the Word of Life, to be your comfort and rest, to turn your lament into hope and to remind you that even when you feel vulnerable and exposed, you are held and heard by Him.
If your request was answered and the Lord has brought you comfort, rest, or a renewed sense of His nearness, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If you still find yourself lying awake with a heavy heart and your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.
May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Father we bring our brother or sister before You who has felt like a solitary bird on a rooftop. We ask You to reveal Your steadfast love in those lonely nights, to quiet anxious thoughts and to give peaceful sleep. Thank You that You see every tear and hear every cry, and that through Jesus we are never truly alone. Draw near and fill this heart with the assurance of Your presence and the comfort of Your Word. We ask this in Jesus Name. Amen.
