We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for your earnest desire to know and obey God’s will, to walk in wisdom, and to be protected from sin and evil. Your prayer reflects a deep longing to live in alignment with Scripture, and we join with you in seeking the Lord’s guidance and protection.
Father in heaven, we lift up this prayer before You, asking that You would indeed fill us with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. May we walk in a manner worthy of You, fully pleasing You, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God. Strengthen us with all power according to Your glorious might, so that we may endure with patience and joy, giving thanks to You, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light (Colossians 1:9-12). Lord, we pray that our love would abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that we may approve the things that are excellent, being sincere and blameless until the day of Christ (Philippians 1:9-10).
We ask for practical wisdom, as You have promised to give generously to all without reproach (James 1:5). Lead us by Your Holy Spirit, for those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God (Romans 8:14). Restore our souls, O Lord, and guide us in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake (Psalm 23:3). Jesus, our Good Shepherd, we ask that You would lead us and let us hear Your voice, for we know that Your sheep follow You because they know Your voice (John 10:4, 27).
Father, we acknowledge our need for Your forgiveness, and we ask that You would forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors (Matthew 6:12). We pray for the salvation of those who have wronged us, that they too may come to know You and walk in Your ways. Thank You for the angels You have sent to minister to us, who are heirs of salvation (Hebrews 1:14). We take comfort in knowing that You have given them charge over us to keep us in all Your ways (Psalm 91:11).
Keep us from temptation and deliver us from evil, for Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever (Matthew 6:13). Protect us from the evil one, for we know that we are not of this world, though we are in it (John 17:15). Guard our hearts and minds from sin, lies, and fear, for the remnant of Israel shall do no wrong and speak no lies, nor shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouths (Zephaniah 3:13). We pray that we would do no wrong, as Paul desired for the Corinthians, that we may be found blameless (2 Corinthians 13:7).
Lord, we thank You in advance for hearing and answering our prayers, for whatever we ask in Your name, You will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son (John 14:13-14). We trust in Your promise that whatever we ask in prayer, believing, we will receive (Matthew 21:22). May our lives be a testament to Your goodness, grace, and power, as we seek to walk in Your will and bring glory to Your name.
We must also address the importance of ensuring that our prayers and lives are firmly rooted in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus Himself declared, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). If there is any area of your life where you have not fully surrendered to Christ as Lord, we encourage you to confess your sins, repent, and place your faith in Him alone for salvation. For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Let us continue to press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead (Philippians 3:13-14). May we grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity (2 Peter 3:18). Amen.
