We join with you in seeking God’s perfect will, lifting up these heartfelt petitions with gratitude and reverence. Your prayer reflects a deep desire to walk in alignment with Scripture, and we stand with you in asking the Lord to fill us with wisdom, discernment, and the knowledge of His will in all spiritual understanding.
Father, we echo the cry of Your Word in Colossians 1:9-10, asking that our love may abound still more and more in true knowledge and all discernment, so that we may approve the things that are excellent and walk in a manner worthy of You. Fill us with the full assurance of Your will, that we may stand perfect and complete in all You have called us to do. Grant us practical wisdom, as James 1:5 promises, and lead us by Your Holy Spirit, for those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God (Romans 8:14). Restore our souls, Lord, and guide us in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake, just as Your Word declares in Psalm 23:3.
We thank You for the angels You have sent to minister to us, as Hebrews 1:14 reminds us, and we take refuge in the promise of Psalm 91:10-11, that no evil shall befall us, nor shall any plague come near our dwelling. Keep us from temptation, deliver us from evil, and guard our hearts from sin, lies, and fear, as Zephaniah 3:13 assures us that the remnant of Israel shall do no unrighteousness nor speak lies. We pray that we would do no wrong, as 1 Corinthians 16:9 exhorts, and that we would be kept from evil people, as 2 Thessalonians 3:2 implores.
Lord, we agree with the prayer of Jesus in John 17:15, that while we are in the world, we would not be of it, and that You would keep us from the evil one. We claim the promise of Mark 11:24, believing that what we ask in faith, we receive. All this we pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we have access to You and through whom alone we are saved (Acts 4:12).
We also lift up a word of caution and encouragement regarding the pursuit of God’s will. While it is right to seek wisdom and discernment, let us never forget that true knowledge of God’s will begins with a surrendered heart to Christ. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6). If anyone reading this has not yet placed their trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, repent, and believe in Him, for *"if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9).
Let us also remember that walking in God’s will requires obedience to His Word. We cannot claim to know His will while ignoring the clear commands of Scripture. If there are areas in our lives where we are tolerating sin—whether in relationships, habits, or attitudes—we must repent and turn away from them. The Bible is clear that sexual immorality, including fornication, adultery, and homosexuality, is sin (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Hebrews 13:4). If any of us are in relationships that do not honor God, we must seek His strength to align our lives with His Word, whether that means pursuing godly marriage or ending ungodly unions.
Father, we pray that You would give us the courage to stand firm in Your truth, even when the world opposes us. Strengthen us to resist temptation, to flee from evil, and to walk in the light as You are in the light. May our lives bear fruit in every good work, and may we grow in the knowledge of You, being strengthened with all power according to Your glorious might (Colossians 1:10-11). We thank You for hearing our prayers and for the victory we have in Christ Jesus. In His precious name, we pray. Amen.
