Beloved of All
Please correct me if I’m wrong. Seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God. No disrespect intended with this question. Is the kingdom of God within us? something that we must continually tap into? Or is it just seeking and obeying God’s will in all things? Or is it a combo of both? I’m sorry to bother you all. Just looking for answers as I’m still growing spiritually. Thank you kindly. Looking forward to your responses Asking for answers in Jesus name.

Your question is a profound one, and we rejoice that you are seeking understanding with a humble and teachable heart. The Kingdom of God is a central theme in Scripture, and Jesus Himself spoke often about it. Let us explore this together, grounded in the Word of God, so that we may grow in wisdom and truth.

The phrase "Seek first God’s Kingdom" comes from Matthew 6:33, where Jesus declares, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* This is a call to prioritize God’s rule, His will, and His righteousness above all else—above worldly concerns, desires, or distractions. It is not merely an internal experience but an active pursuit of alignment with God’s purposes in every area of life. When we seek His Kingdom first, we are acknowledging His lordship over our lives, trusting Him to provide for our needs as we obey His commands.

Now, you ask whether the Kingdom of God is within us. Jesus does say in Luke 17:21, *"Nor will they say, ‘Look, here!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ for behold, the Kingdom of God is within you."* This verse is often misunderstood, but in context, Jesus is addressing the Pharisees, who were looking for a political or earthly kingdom. He corrects their misconception by revealing that the Kingdom is not something that can be observed with physical eyes alone—it is spiritual in nature. For believers, the Kingdom of God *is* within us because the Holy Spirit dwells in us (1 Corinthians 3:16, Romans 8:9-11). The presence of the Holy Spirit means that God’s rule, power, and authority are at work in our hearts, transforming us to reflect Christ. However, this does not mean the Kingdom is *only* internal. The Kingdom of God is both a present reality *and* a future hope—it is the reign of God in our lives now, and it will one day be fully established when Christ returns (Revelation 11:15).

So, is the Kingdom something we must continually tap into? Yes, in the sense that we are called to live in dependence on God, walking in the Spirit daily (Galatians 5:16-25). We do not earn the Kingdom by our efforts, but we *participate* in it by faith, obedience, and surrender to Christ. It is like a treasure hidden in a field—once found, it demands our all (Matthew 13:44). We "tap into" the Kingdom by praying, "Your Kingdom come, your will be done" (Matthew 6:10), by submitting to Scripture, and by allowing the Holy Spirit to guide and empower us. Yet it is also something we *proclaim*—Jesus sent His disciples to preach the Kingdom (Luke 9:2, 10:9), and we, too, are ambassadors of this Kingdom, calling others to repentance and faith.

Is it just seeking and obeying God’s will in all things? Yes, but it is even more than that. Seeking the Kingdom means living under God’s rule, where His will is our delight (Psalm 40:8). It means rejecting the values of this world and embracing the values of His Kingdom—love, righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17). Obedience is the fruit of a heart that has been transformed by the King. Jesus makes it clear that not everyone who claims to follow Him will enter the Kingdom, but only those who do the will of the Father (Matthew 7:21). So, obedience is not optional; it is the evidence of a life surrendered to His lordship.

Is it a combination of both? Absolutely. The Kingdom is both an internal reality *and* an external pursuit. It is the Holy Spirit working within us *and* our active participation in God’s mission in the world. We are citizens of Heaven (Philippians 3:20) even as we live on earth, and our lives should reflect the values and priorities of our true home. The Kingdom is not just a future hope—it is a present power. When Jesus cast out demons, healed the sick, and preached the Gospel, He demonstrated the Kingdom’s authority breaking into this world (Matthew 12:28). As His followers, we, too, are called to live in that same power, advancing His Kingdom through faith, prayer, and obedience.

Let us also address something beautiful in your question: you closed by saying, *"Asking for answers in Jesus’ name."* This is commendable! So many today seek answers from philosophy, self-help, or even mysticism, but you have rightly turned to the name above all names. Jesus Himself said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Christ that we have access to the Father (Ephesians 2:18). Your acknowledgment of Jesus’ authority in seeking answers is a testament to your faith, and we encourage you to always approach God in this way—boldly, yet humbly, through the name of Jesus.

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before You, thanking You for their hungry heart and teachable spirit. Lord, You have said that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled (Matthew 5:6), and we ask that You would satisfy them with the bread of life, which is Your Word, and the living water, which is Your Spirit. Open their eyes to see the Kingdom of God not just as a concept, but as a reality—a reality that is within them through Christ, yet also a reality they are called to live out and proclaim.

Father, grant them wisdom to understand that seeking Your Kingdom first is not a one-time decision but a daily surrender. May they wake each morning with the desire to align their will with Yours, to walk in obedience, and to depend on the Holy Spirit’s power. Teach them, Lord, what it means to live as a citizen of Heaven while still on this earth—how to pray "Your Kingdom come," how to love as You love, and how to advance Your purposes in their sphere of influence.

We rebuke any confusion or distortion the enemy may try to bring regarding the Kingdom. Let Your truth prevail in their heart and mind. Remind them that the Kingdom is not earned by human effort, but it is entered by faith in Christ and lived out through the power of the Spirit. May they never grow complacent, but always press forward, knowing that You are their reward and their inheritance.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would deepen their love for Jesus, the King of this Kingdom. Let them never forget that it is *His* Kingdom—the Kingdom of *Christ*—and that He alone is worthy of all praise, honor, and glory. May their life be a testament to His lordship, and may they find their greatest joy in seeing His Kingdom advance.

We pray all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

As you continue to grow, we encourage you to meditate on the parables of the Kingdom in Matthew 13. Study how Jesus describes the Kingdom as a mustard seed, as leaven, as a treasure, and as a pearl. These images will deepen your understanding of its nature—how it starts small but grows, how it transforms from within, and how it is worth giving up everything to obtain.

Also, spend time in the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13), where Jesus teaches us to pray for the Kingdom to come and for God’s will to be done. This is not a passive prayer but an invitation to partner with God in seeing His rule established in our lives and in the world.

Keep seeking, beloved. Keep knocking. Keep asking. The Father delights to reveal Himself to those who earnestly pursue Him (Hebrews 11:6). You are on the right path—press on in faith!

Hey there,

We're so glad you're seeking to understand the Kingdom of God with such a humble and teachable heart. It's like you're standing at the entrance of a vast treasure trove, eager to explore its depths!

You asked if the Kingdom of God is within us, and yes, it is! Just as Jesus said in Luke 17:21, the Kingdom is indeed within us because the Holy Spirit dwells in us (1 Corinthians 3:16, Romans 8:9-11). It's like having a royal seed planted in our hearts, growing and transforming us from within. But remember, this doesn't mean the Kingdom is just an internal, private affair. It's also about living out our faith, proclaiming the Kingdom, and being God's ambassadors in the world (Luke 9:2, 10:9).

We love how you're looking for answers in Jesus' name. That's the key! He said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). So, keep seeking, keep knocking, and keep asking in His name.

Let's pray together for you:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, thanking You for our brother/sister's hunger and thirst for righteousness. Lord, You've promised to fill those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6). So, we ask that You would satisfy them with the bread of life, which is Your Word, and the living water, which is Your Spirit. Open their eyes to see the Kingdom of God not just as a concept, but as a reality - a reality that is within them through Christ, yet also a reality they are called to live out and proclaim.

Father, grant them wisdom to understand that seeking Your Kingdom first is not a one-time decision, but a daily surrender. May they wake each morning with the desire to align their will with Yours, to walk in obedience, and to depend on the Holy Spirit's power. Teach them, Lord, what it means to live as a citizen of Heaven while still on this earth - how to pray 'Your Kingdom come,' how to love as You love, and how to advance Your purposes in their sphere of influence.

May their life be a testament to His lordship, and may they find their greatest joy in seeing His Kingdom advance.

We pray all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."

Keep exploring, dear friend. The best is yet to come!
