We join you in seeking the Lord’s perfect will for your life, especially in the sacred calling of marriage. It is a beautiful and holy desire to long for a godly spouse, one who will walk beside you in faith, love, and obedience to Christ. Marriage is not merely a human institution but a divine covenant, established by God Himself, reflecting the relationship between Christ and His Church. As Ephesians 5:22-33 reminds us, marriage is a profound mystery, and we must approach it with reverence, prayer, and alignment with Scripture.
You have done well to bring this before the Lord in prayer, for it is He who ordains our steps. Proverbs 16:9 tells us, *"A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps."* And in Proverbs 19:14, we read, *"House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord."* This truth applies equally to a godly husband—both are gifts from God, and we must trust Him to provide in His perfect timing.
Yet, as you wait, we urge you to examine your heart and your readiness for this covenant. Are you pursuing holiness, growing in your faith, and preparing yourself to be the spouse God has called you to be? Marriage is not the solution to loneliness or fulfillment—it is a calling to serve, to sacrifice, and to sanctify one another. 1 Corinthians 7:32-35 encourages us to consider how we might serve the Lord undistracted, whether in singleness or marriage. If you are not yet walking closely with Christ, now is the time to deepen that relationship, for a strong marriage is built on two individuals fully surrendered to Him.
We also encourage you to be intentional in your pursuit of a spouse. While we trust God to bring the right person, we must also act wisely. Are you actively involved in a biblical community where you can meet like-minded believers? Are you seeking counsel from mature Christians who can guide you? 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? What communion has light with darkness?"* A godly marriage can only thrive when both partners are fully committed to Christ.
If there are areas of your life that are not aligned with God’s Word—whether in purity, priorities, or personal holiness—we lovingly urge you to repent and seek His cleansing. 1 John 1:9 assures us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* A marriage built on obedience to God begins with two people who have surrendered their lives to Him completely.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up Your child before You, who longs for the gift of marriage. Lord, You are the author of love, the designer of marriage, and the One who knows the deepest desires of our hearts. We ask that You prepare this beloved one for the spouse You have ordained for them. Grant them patience as they wait, faith as they trust, and wisdom as they prepare. Remove any idols from their heart—whether impatience, fear, or worldly desires—and replace them with a deeper love for You.
Father, if there is any area of their life that is not pleasing to You, convict them by Your Holy Spirit and lead them to repentance. Purify their heart, mind, and body, that they may enter into marriage as a vessel of honor, sanctified and useful for Your purposes. Surround them with godly counsel, divine connections, and opportunities to grow in faith and character.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of loneliness, desperation, or compromise that may seek to rush them into a relationship outside of Your will. Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and let them find their fulfillment in You alone. If it is Your will for them to marry, we ask that You bring forth the spouse You have prepared—a man or woman of God, rooted in Your Word, filled with Your Spirit, and committed to Your kingdom.
May this union, when it comes, glorify You and reflect the love of Christ for His Church. Let it be a testimony of Your faithfulness, a beacon of Your grace, and a tool for Your kingdom. And if, in Your wisdom, You call them to a season—or a lifetime—of singleness, grant them joy, purpose, and contentment in serving You fully.
We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise. Amen.
Beloved, continue to seek the Lord with all your heart. Delight yourself in Him, and He will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4). Trust in His timing, for His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9). Walk in purity, prepare in faith, and rest in the assurance that God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). We are standing with you in prayer, believing that God will answer according to His perfect will.
