Father, we thank You that Your Word does not return void, but like the rain and snow come down from heaven to water the earth and make it vivacious, so is the Word effective in fulfilling the purposes You have ordained for it to accomplish, Isa 55:10-11. Thank You the seed is the Word of God, and that seeds have been planted, Mark 4:14, Mark 4:26, Mark 4:27, Mark 4:28, Mark 4:29. From You and through You and back to You be all glory, Rom 11:36. Please continue working on this "still current wife's heart" by bringing fresh truth, restraining evil and carrying any work You've begun on to completion until the day of Christ, Phil 1:6. CONTINUE to bring others into her path to water seeds, speak truth and show the kindness of God, Rom 2:4, and across the paths of all who have heard the word from all time, especially the last several months, especially for our patriarchal and matriarchal figures, progeny and posterity. Since the steps of the righteous are ordered by You, Ps 37:23, as evidenced by the evangelist and the foreign official reading Isaiah 53 in Acts 8:26-31, the believer in Acts 9:10-11 who was told to go find the future Apostle to the Gentiles, and the Apostles directed to go help a certain man, Acts 16:6-10. You, being perfect AND patient, not willing any perish but rather that all come to repentance, 2 Pet 3:9, and desire all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, even using prayer to that ends, 1 Tim 2:1-4.

Thanksgiving for our prayers that You are actively using, as "The Word of God is Living and Active and Sharper than any Two-edged Sword, Piercing as far as division of Soul and Spirit, and Judging the Thoughts and Intents of The Heart," Heb 4:12. Thank You we and they ARE currently hearing Your Word by The Holy Spirit, John 16:8, we believe before honor comes humility, Prov 18:12, You are humbling those who need to be humbled, Dan 4:37 that they come to their senses, Dan 4:34, 2 Tim 2:26, as the prodigal in Luke 15:17, and Hosea's wife in Hos 2:6-7, and we are experiencing Your Protection as YOU Keep us, them, progeny, folks, ministry partners, fellow servants of Christ and stewards of The Mysteries of The Word of God, 1 Cor 4:1-2, and us ALL from evil, deception, lies, temptation, sin, evil people and the evil one by receiving the love of the truth that we may be saved, 2 Thes 2:9-10. Thank You in advance, Mk 11:24, thank You for being a rewarder of diligent seeking, Heb 11:6, and that fervent prayers of those made righteous by faith avail much and prevail, James 5:16. We join with you in this prayer and we thank God for your heart that longs to see His Word bear fruit and His name receive all glory. We agree with you that salvation belongs to the Lord and that it is His kindness that leads to repentance, His planting and watering that He alone causes to grow, and His glory that we seek above all.

We love how you have anchored this intercession in Scripture, for we know that His Word will not return void but will accomplish that which He pleases and prosper in the thing He sent it to do, Isa 55:11. We have sown the seed which is the Word of God, Mark 4:14, and we rest in the mystery that the seed sprouts and grows, he knows not how, for the earth bears fruit of itself, Mark 4:26-28, but God gives the increase, 1 Cor 3:6-7. So we do not trust in our eloquence or persistence, but in the living and active Word which is sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and able to judge the thoughts and intents of the heart, Heb 4:12.

We lift up before the Father this still current wife and every heart you have mentioned, the patriarchal and matriarchal figures, progeny and posterity, and all who have heard the Word in recent months and across the years. We pray that the Lord will continue the good work He has begun and will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ, Phil 1:6. We ask Him to restrain evil, to restrain deception and the work of the enemy, and to surround her and all who have heard with those who will water the seed faithfully and speak truth in love, and to display before them the kindness of God that leads to repentance, Rom 2:4.

We pray for the humbling that must come before honor, for before honor is humility, Prov 18:12. As You humbled Nebuchadnezzar until he lifted his eyes to heaven and his understanding returned, Dan 4:34, Dan 4:37, we ask You to grant godly sorrow that works repentance to salvation, 2 Cor 7:10, so that those who are held captive by the enemy may come to their senses and escape his snare, having been taken captive to do his will, 2 Tim 2:26. Like the prodigal who came to himself in the far country, Luke 15:17, and like Gomer who was hedged in so she would return, Hos 2:6-7, we ask the Holy Spirit to convict the world in respect to sin, righteousness, and judgment, John 16:8, and to draw each one to the knowledge of the truth.

We thank You, Father, that You are not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance, 2 Pet 3:9, and that You desire all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, 1 Tim 2:4. We thank You that You order the steps of a good man, Ps 37:23, as You directed Philip to the Ethiopian reading Isaiah, Acts 8:26-31, and Ananias to Saul, Acts 9:10-11, and Paul through a vision to Macedonia, Acts 16:9-10. We ask You to continue to order divine appointments, to bring the right laborers across their paths at the right moment, and to keep Your Word before them until it takes deep root.

We also uphold the sanctity of marriage before You, for what God has joined together, let no man separate, and marriage is to be held in honor by all. We pray for this marriage that You would protect it from all evil, from temptation, from lies and from the evil one, and that You would guard both husband and wife by the love of the truth, 2 Thess 2:10, that they may be saved and walk in Your ways. Where there has been hardness of heart, we ask for softness. Where there has been distance, we ask for reconciliation that reflects Christ and His church, rooted in covenant faithfulness, repentance and forgiveness. We pray that any relationship pursued would be one that honors You, looking toward holy marriage between a man and a woman as a lifelong covenant, and that all fornication, adultery and impurity would be repented of and forsaken, for You call us to holiness.

We rejoice that You are always working, as Jesus said, My Father is still working, so I am working also, John 5:17, and that You are a rewarder of those who diligently seek You, Heb 11:6. We come boldly believing we have received what we ask according to Your will, Mark 11:24, and that the insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective, James 5:16. Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but to Your name give glory, for Your loving kindness and for Your truth's sake, Ps 115:1, for from You and through You and to You are all things, to You be the glory forever, Rom 11:36. Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, Rev 7:10, and salvation belongs to the Lord, Ps 3:8, Jonah 2:9.

Father, we thank You in advance for what You are doing beyond all that we ask or think, Eph 3:20, for great and mighty things which we do not know, Jer 33:3. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, for whatever we ask in His name He will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son, John 14:13-14, and all the promises of God find their Yes in Him, 2 Cor 1:20. We trust You to keep all who are Yours, our progeny, our families, our fellow servants and stewards of the mysteries of God, 1 Cor 4:1, until the end. Amen.

We were moved reading your prayer. The love and persistence you carry for your wife and for your family across generations comes through so clearly. To keep planting and watering in faith while trusting God alone to bring growth is not easy, and we honor the steadiness we see in you.

We hear especially your heart for your wife, that God would keep drawing near to her with kindness and truth, and for your wider family that each one would have fresh opportunities to hear and respond. It is good to keep entrusting them to the Lord who is both perfectly holy and deeply patient, and who is already at work in ways we cannot fully see.

One thing that may help in this long season is to stay anchored in your own daily walk and in community. Keep bringing your requests to God as you are doing, stay open to wise counsel from a trusted pastor or mature believer who knows you both, and let others share the burden of prayer with you so you are not carrying this alone. Resting in God's care for you matters too as you wait.

Father, we lift this husband and his wife to You, and their children and family before and after them. Keep each one under Your protection, soften hearts where humility is needed, guard them from deception and harm, and give this brother wisdom, peace and perseverance as he trusts You. It is a good thing that you have brought this burden before the Lord in prayer, and that you do so with the Word of God upon your lips and in your heart. You have prayed according to the truth that the kindness of God leads to repentance, Romans 2:4, that one plants and another waters but God alone gives the increase, 1 Corinthians 3:6-7, and that salvation belongs unto the Lord, Psalm 3:8 and Jonah 2:9, and unto the Lamb who sits upon the throne, Revelation 7:10. To Him and through Him and to Him be all glory, Romans 11:36, and not unto us, Psalm 115:1.

We join you in thanking God that His Word does not return void, but as the rain comes down from heaven to water the earth, so His Word accomplishes the purpose for which He sends it, Isaiah 55:10-11. The seed is the Word of God, Mark 4:14, and you have sown it faithfully. Take comfort that the Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing to the dividing of soul and spirit and judging the thoughts and intents of the heart, Hebrews 4:12. Our Father is always working, and Christ Himself is working, John 5:17, and He who has begun a good work will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ, Philippians 1:6.

Concerning your still current wife, we pray with you as you have asked, that the Lord would continue to work upon her heart. Marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman ordained of God, and it is right to pray for its preservation and restoration in holiness, and for all sin to be forsaken. We do not ask God to bless any way that departs from His holy will, but we ask Him to bring that godly sorrow which leads to true repentance.

Remember that there is a repentance that is of the flesh, a carnal repentance which does not give God glory. True repentance, the repentance unto life spoken of in Acts 11:18, is the work of the Holy Spirit in the renewed heart, and it always gives God glory, Revelation 16:9. It is not a mere regret that fears judgment, but a humble turning that looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only. It lives as long as faith lives, not as a single operation to be gotten through, but as sweet company for the whole pilgrimage. Before honor comes humility, Proverbs 18:12, and God in His mercy humbles those who need humbling, as He did with Nebuchadnezzar who at last came to his senses and lifted his eyes to heaven, Daniel 4:34,37, as the prodigal came to himself in the far country, Luke 15:17, and as Hosea's wife was hedged in that she might return, Hosea 2:6-7. So we pray that the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, John 16:8, would bring such humbling and restoring grace, that she may come to her senses, 2 Timothy 2:26, with a repentance that needs not to be repented of, 2 Corinthians 7:9-10.

We pray also that the Lord would order steps and bring faithful witnesses across her path to water the seed that has been sown, as He ordered the steps of Philip to the Ethiopian reading Isaiah 53, Acts 8:26-31, and Ananias to Saul, Acts 9:10-11, and the apostles to Macedonia, Acts 16:6-10. For the steps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord, Psalm 37:23, and He is patient, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9, desiring all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth, 1 Timothy 2:1-4.

Know this, repentance unto life is not a preparation for grace, it is the first result of grace working within the soul. There are no conditions of salvation to be fulfilled by our own strength. Repentance and faith are inseparable gifts of God, and both are necessary, yet neither is to be trusted in. Do not trust even in your repentance or your faith, but trust only in the finished work of Jesus Christ upon Calvary's tree. Salvation is God's greatest work, and He teaches us in it that He is God and beside Him there is none else. His word to all the ends of the earth is, Look unto me and be ye saved, Isaiah 45:22. What is believing on Him? It is to trust in Him, to leave the whole matter of your present and eternal salvation in His hands with unquestioning confidence. Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed, Romans 10:11. This way is simple and instantaneous, a look of faith, and it is the same for every soul, for He has concluded all in unbelief that He might have mercy upon all.

Therefore continue in fervent prayer, for the fervent prayer of those made righteous by faith avails much, James 5:16, and He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him, Hebrews 11:6. Ask in the name of Jesus, John 14:13-14, believing that you have received, Mark 11:24, and expecting great and mighty things which you know not, Jeremiah 33:3, beyond all that you can ask or imagine, Ephesians 3:20. Pray that you and she and your progeny and all who have heard the Word, especially your patriarchal and matriarchal figures, may receive the love of the truth that they may be saved, 2 Thessalonians 2:10, and be kept from evil, deception and the evil one.

May the Lord restore unto you and unto her the joy of His salvation where it has been lost, Psalm 51:12, and uphold you both with His free Spirit, that you may not fall again. May He deliver from all guilt and cause your tongues to sing aloud of His righteousness, to the praise of His glory. We commend you to Him who alone can give repentance and remission of sins in the name of Jesus, Luke 24:47, praying that where true repentance is wrought, there also the full and free forgiveness of all sin may be known and enjoyed.

We join you in thanksgiving that the Word of God does not return empty, but accomplishes what He purposes, like rain that waters the earth. Your confidence is well placed, for as you have said, one plants and another waters, but God alone gives the growth, and to Him belongs all glory and all salvation. We stand with you in this truth, that salvation belongs to the Lord, and that Christ alone is the Mediator between the Father and us, who has prevailed with the Father on our behalf when we were estranged.

We hear your burden for your wife, who is still your wife, and for your family, your children and those who have come before and after you. We will pray with you that God will continue the good work He has begun and carry it to completion until the day of Christ. Marriage is a bond ordained by God, and Scripture says, Art thou bound unto a wife, seek not to be loosed. It is honorable and pure, and its good is to preserve chasteness and holiness. It is not to be dissolved lightly, for what God has joined is not to be broken by human will. We do not ask God to bless any path that departs from His design for marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, with all intimate union belonging within it, but we do ask Him to guard that covenant, to restrain evil, and to keep you both from deception, temptation and sin.

We pray with you that the kindness of God would lead to true repentance. God is perfect and patient, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance, and He convicts hearts by His Holy Spirit. Yet repentance must be true. Esau sought the blessing with tears but found no place of repentance, because his sorrow was not the godly sorrow that turns from sin. So we ask not only for tears or regret, but for that humbling that brings a person to their senses, as with Nebuchadnezzar who was humbled and restored, and as with the prodigal who came to himself and returned to his father. May God in His mercy bring such clarity and humility where it is needed.

We thank God that His Word is living and active, sharper than any two edged sword, judging the thoughts and intentions of the heart. We ask Him to keep planting and watering through faithful witnesses, as He ordered the steps of Philip to the Ethiopian reading Isaiah, and as He directed Ananias to Saul and Paul to Macedonia. Your prayer reflects a deep trust in the power of God's Word and His kindness to lead hearts toward Him, and that is a good and biblical place to stand. You are right to thank Him that His Word does not return empty. Like rain and snow that come down and water the earth and make it fruitful, His Word accomplishes the purpose for which He sends it. The seed is the Word of God. Our part is to plant and to water, but only God can give the growth, and salvation belongs entirely to Him. It is for His glory alone, from Him and through Him and to Him.

At the heart of your request is repentance, and that is exactly where Scripture puts the emphasis. The one who came preparing the way preached a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, calling people to confess their sins. Jesus came preaching the same message, and when He spoke to the churches in Revelation He still called them to repent. The call to repent, to turn and be changed, runs throughout all of Scripture because it is needed. Sin is ultimately against God Himself, as David confessed after his sin with Bathsheba and against Uriah, and the true sign of a work of God is not just words but a changed heart that bears fruit in a changed life and in restoration where possible. Jesus said He did not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance, for those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. He draws near to those who know their need.

You have prayed that God in His kindness would lead to repentance, and Romans teaches that it is indeed the kindness of God that leads us to repentance. He is patient, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance, desiring all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. Heaven rejoices over one sinner who comes to true repentance. That repentance begins with humility, for before honor comes humility. God in His mercy humbles us so that we come to our senses, like the prodigal who finally saw his condition, like the king in Daniel who was humbled until he lifted his eyes to heaven, like Hosea's wife who was hedged in until she turned back. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin and makes the living and active Word pierce to the division of soul and spirit and judge the thoughts and intents of the heart.

So it is right to keep asking Him to order steps and bring others across the path to speak truth and show that kindness, just as He directed the evangelist to the official reading Isaiah and directed believers to go to specific people in need. He is always working, even now, and He often uses the prayers of His people as part of that work. The fervent prayer of those made righteous through faith in Christ avails much, and He rewards those who diligently seek Him. He is able to restrain evil, to protect from deception and temptation and the evil one as we love the truth, and to carry on to completion every good work He has begun until the day of Christ.

Continue to plant the seed faithfully and to water it with prayer and with truth spoken in love, and trust Him for the increase in His time and for His glory. Pray for your wife, for your family lines and those who have heard the Word, that God would grant repentance that leads to life, that is godly sorrow producing change without regret. Pray that any turning would be a true turning to the Lord Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and within the lifelong covenant of marriage as God designed it for one man and one woman, where intimacy and living together belong. God can keep and restore what is committed to Him.

Father, we thank You for Your Word that is living and effective. We thank You that You are kind and patient and that You desire repentance and life. We ask You to continue Your work in this wife's heart and in every heart that has heard Your Word, to bring fresh truth, to humble where humbling is needed, to open eyes and grant repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Bring faithful people across their paths to water the seed that has been planted. Guard them and their household from evil and deception and draw them to love the truth and be saved. Complete the work You have begun for Your glory alone. We ask this in the name of Jesus, in whom all the promises are yes and amen.
