Father, we thank You that Your Word does not return void, Isa 55:10, and that seeds have been planted, Mark 4:14, Mark 4:26, Mark 4:27, Mark 4:28, Mark 4:29. From You and through You and back to You be all glory, Rom 11:36. Please continue working on this "still current wife's heart" by bringing fresh truth, restraining evil and carrying any work You've begun on to completion until the day of Christ, Phil 1:6. Continue to bring others into her path to water seeds, speak truth and show the kindness of God, Rom 2:4, and across the paths of all who have heard the word from all time, especially the last several months, especially for our patriarchal and matriarchal figures, progeny and posterity. Since the steps of the righteous are ordered by You, Ps 37:23, as evidenced by the evangelist and the foreign official reading Isaiah 53 in Acts 8:26-31, the believer in Acts 9:10-11 who was told to go find the future Apostle to the Gentiles, and the Apostles directed to go help a certain man, Acts 16:6-10. You, being perfect AND patient, not willing any perish but rather that all come to repentance, 2 Pet 3:9, and desire all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, even using prayer to that ends, 1 Tim 2:1-4.

Thanksgiving for our prayers that You are actively using, as "The Word of God is Living and Active and Sharper than any Two-edged Sword, Piercing as far as division of Soul and Spirit, and Judging the Thoughts and Intents of The Heart," Heb 4:12. "My Father is Always Working Even Until Now, And I Myself am Working," Jesus, John 5:17...

Thank You we and they ARE currently hearing Your Word by The Holy Spirit, John 16:8, we believe before honor comes humility, Prov 18:12, You are humbling those who need to be humbled, Dan 4:37 that they come to their senses, Dan 4:34, 2 Tim 2:26, as the prodigal in Luke 15:17, and Hosea's wife in Hos 2:6-7, and we are experiencing Your Protection as YOU Keep us, them, progeny, folks, ministry partners, fellow servants of Christ and stewards of The Mysteries of The Word of God, 1 Cor 4:1-2, and us ALL from evil, deception, lies, temptation, sin, evil people and the evil one by receiving the love of the truth that we may be saved, 2 Thes 2:9-10. Thank You in advance, Mk 11:24, thank You for being a rewarder of diligent seeking, Heb 11:6, and that fervent prayers of those made righteous by faith avail much and prevail, James 5:16. Thank You for all this and more, great and mighty things, Jer 33:3, beyond all we can ask of imagine, Eph 3:20, in Jesus’ Name, John 14:13-14, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

We hear your heartfelt plea for the softening and transformation of a wife’s heart, and we stand with you in agreement, lifting this matter before the throne of grace. Your reliance on Scripture, Romans 2:4, 1 Corinthians 3:6-7, and Philippians 1:6, reminds us that God’s kindness leads to repentance, that He alone causes growth, and that He will complete the work He has begun. This is a beautiful testament to your faith in His sovereignty and patience.

Yet we must also gently address a concern: while you invoke the name of Jesus in your closing, the absence of His name in the body of your prayer leaves room for ambiguity. Scripture is clear that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12) and that whatever we ask in His name, the Father will do (John 14:13-14). The name of Jesus is not a mere formality, it is the very power by which we approach the Father. Let us never treat it as an afterthought, for it is the cornerstone of our access to God.

We also note your reference to a "still current wife," which suggests a situation of marital separation or strain. If this is the case, we must rebuke any hint of hardness or bitterness that may have taken root in either heart. Marriage is a covenant before God, and He hates divorce (Malachi 2:16). If there has been sin, whether unfaithfulness, neglect, or rebellion, repentance and reconciliation must be pursued with humility and grace, as Christ loves the church and gave Himself for her (Ephesians 5:25). If this wife is resisting truth, we pray the Holy Spirit would convict her of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), leading her to repentance and restoration.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging that You alone can change hearts. We thank You for the seeds of truth that have been planted in this wife’s life, and we ask that You would water them by Your Spirit. Lord, restrain evil and deception, and open her eyes to see the kindness of God that leads to repentance (Romans 2:4). Humble her as You humbled Nebuchadnezzar, that she may come to her senses and turn to You (Daniel 4:34). Protect her from the schemes of the enemy, and surround her with believers who will speak truth in love.

Father, we also pray for the husband in this situation. Guard his heart from bitterness, and fill him with Your love and patience. If there has been sin on his part, grant him the grace to repent and seek reconciliation. Strengthen their marriage to reflect Christ’s love for the church, and let their home be a testimony to Your faithfulness.

We declare that Your Word does not return void (Isaiah 55:11), and we trust that You are working even now. May this wife and all who hear Your Word be drawn to salvation, for You desire all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). We ask this in the powerful name of Jesus, who intercedes for us at Your right hand. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing on God’s promises, knowing that He is faithful. If this wife is resisting the truth, do not grow weary in prayer, for the fervent prayers of the righteous avail much (James 5:16). Seek godly counsel if needed, and above all, let love and humility guide your actions, for love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). The Lord is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He will not forsake you.

You’ve faithfully planted seeds of truth and trusted God to water them, even when the soil seems hard and nothing is sprouting yet. The quiet, slow work of the Spirit is often hidden, but it is real. Just as a farmer doesn’t dig up the seed every day to check if it’s growing, we learn to rest in the One who alone gives the increase. Your steady, consistent love, offered without demand, mirrors the very kindness of God that leads us toward repentance. That kindness isn’t passive; it’s pursuing, patient, and it’s still at work in her life, in ways you may not see.

You do well to plead the promises, for they are the very chariots in which our prayers ascend to the throne. Let your heart be strengthened by this: the kindness of God is leading her, even now, though she may not perceive the cord. The rain that softens the clod and the sun that warms the seed are both of His sending, and the harvest is sure. It is no small thing that the Word has been planted, for our Lord Himself declared that the seed springs up and grows, the sower knows not how. The Spirit’s work is mysterious, quiet as the dew, yet irresistible as the tide. He will convict of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, and none can stay His hand when once He lays it upon the conscience.

Yet remember, true repentance is no mere terror under the sound of truth, for many tremble and are not turned. It is not the sob of a frightened nature, but the gift of the covenant, a repentance unto life, which the Lord grants as freely as the father ran to kiss the returning prodigal. There is a repentance that is legal and breeds despair, and there is an evangelical repentance that melts the heart beneath the cross. Pray not merely for pangs of guilt, but for that sweet brokenness which the Holy Ghost alone can work: a sorrow for sin because it is sin against such love, a turning from it because the heart has seen the beauty of holiness in the face of Jesus Christ. The humbling of Nebuchadnezzar was sharp, but it brought him to his senses and to a right confession of the Most High. Even so, the Lord may hedge up her way with thorns, or cause the husks to lose their savor, that she may come to herself.

Do not faint because the advance seems slow. The steps of the righteous are indeed ordered, and the same Spirit who directed Philip to the desert and Ananias to the house of Judas can direct some faithful witness, some living epistle, across her path to water the seed already sown. Let your prayers be generous, spread them over all your line, past, present, and to come, for the promise is to you and to your children, and to as many as the Lord our God shall call. Take heart from Manasseh: a son of godly Hezekiah, yet wallowing in the mire of abominations, and yet, O the wonder of sovereign grace!, he was humbled greatly and brought to know that the Lord He is God. No case lies beyond the reach of Him who holds the keys of every heart.

Only let this be fixed in your mind: repentance and remission are preached in the name of Jesus, not as an offer we may trifle with, but as a command from the majesty of heaven. Yet it is a command wrapped in infinite mercy, for He bids us repent that He may have reason to display His pardoning love. Faith and repentance are born together and breathe the same air of grace. Do not look for a certain measure of feeling before you dare believe for her, pray rather that the Lord would grant her both the will and the deed, and that she may soon be brought to loathe the sin she once loved and to embrace the Savior she once slighted. The Father’s arms are ever ready, the kiss is waiting, the robe and the ring are prepared. Let this vision quicken your petitions and fill you with a humble, patient, expectant joy.

You have woven your prayer with the living words of Scripture, and this is good, for the prayer that echoes God’s own promises ascends with power. The kindness of God is indeed meant to lead to repentance, not to be presumed upon. Let the one for whom you intercede not despise the riches of His goodness and forbearance and longsuffering. Continue to water the seed with your own humility and a heart of compassion, remembering that you are called to forbear and forgive as Christ forgave you, so that your very life becomes a means of grace.

Yet remember this: salvation is found in no other’s virtue but must be embraced by the one who hears. The way is short and near, if one confesses with the mouth the Lord Jesus and believes in the heart that God raised Him from the dead, that one will be saved. Strive then in prayer, but also in every opportunity to speak the truth in love, for godly sorrow works repentance unto salvation not to be repented of. Let there be no delay, for if the gift is spurned after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there remains no other sacrifice. No second Cross will be given.

But do not despair. God is patient and does not take away repentance from the fallen. He calls the beggar and the lowly, and His lovingkindness heals the wounds of every soul that turns. Apply the remedies without ceasing: prayers, tears, alms, fasting, a contrite heart. Beseech the Lord of the harvest to complete the work He has begun, for He is ever working, and the fervent prayer of one made righteous by faith avails much. Let your own life shine with the kindness that leads others out of darkness, and trust the long patience of our God, who desires all to come to the knowledge of the truth.

You are interceding for a heart, and that is never wasted prayer. The Father hears when we ask Him to bring someone to the end of their own resistance. The mention of Romans 2:4 rightly anchors everything: it is the kindness of God that leads to repentance. But when someone has stiffened their heart over time, that kindness can begin to feel like pressure instead of mercy.

We see this pattern clearly with Pharaoh. He hardened his own heart repeatedly. Each plague came, there was a moment of outward crumbling, and then as soon as relief appeared, he doubled down and hardened himself again. That was not God forcing him into rebellion; it was the man repeatedly choosing his own defiance. The language shifts later: after Pharaoh had hardened his heart multiple times, the Lord made it stiff. The Hebrew word there is different. It means God firmed up the position Pharaoh had already set in concrete.

That is exactly what makes a long season of prayer so weighty. A person can hear truth, feel the prick of the Spirit, see the hand of God in their circumstances, and still answer by hardening themselves a little more. The danger is not that God is cruel, but that over time the heart grows calloused until it loses the capacity to tremble at His voice. When the Spirit speaks and the soul keeps saying no, there comes a point where the Lord gives them the stiffness they keep insisting on.

So continue to pray, but do not be shocked if what comes next looks like conviction rather than instant softness. The Holy Spirit’s work in John 16:8 is to convict of sin, righteousness, and judgment. That conviction can be deeply uncomfortable before it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness. The prodigal had to come to his senses in a pigsty. Hosea’s wife had her way hedged up with thorns. Those were acts of redemptive frustration, not cruelty.

Let God work as He chooses. He is drawing with cords of kindness even when all we can see is unrest. If this heart is still current, still alive, still able to hear, then the story has not reached its conclusion. He who began a good work completes it. Your part is to keep trusting the Sower, keep watering with prayer, and refuse to panic when the soil looks hard.
