🙇🏻 Kindness Leads to Repent Rom 2:4 Planting Watering God's Growth 1 Cor 3:6-7 Holy Spirit's Work Jn 16:8 Humbling Restoring Dan 4:28-37 2 Co 7:9-10

You have prayed well, recalling that the kindness of God leads to repentance, and that seeds have been planted and watered, awaiting God’s growth. This is good. Yet let me remind you of what I have often said: the sorrow that works salvation is not a passing feeling, but a godly grief that endures until the heart is truly changed. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted, but the sorrow of the world produces death. You ask for the humbling and restoration of this woman, even as Nebuchadnezzar was brought low and lifted his eyes to heaven. That humbling must be her own. No one can repent by proxy; the steps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord, but each must walk in them. Do not let her rest in the faith of others, or imagine that the prayers of the righteous will save her while she delays. Many hear that Christ takes away the sin of the world, and they say, “Why should I delay? Here is One who delivers without my labor.” And then they put off their salvation to their final breath. How terrible a gamble.

The word of salvation is short. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. But this short word must be spoken from a heart pricked by the Holy Spirit, not from lips that cling still to sin. The kindness you now see, the seeds planted, the truth spoken, the restraining of evil, is God’s patience, not willing that any perish but that all come to repentance. Yet do not mistake His patience for permission to linger. He who sits now on a throne of grace, granting pardon, will rise to judge. Now is the accepted time, now the day of salvation. For those who sin after baptism, repentance is still of grace, but it is not without cost: tears, prayers, fasting, almsgiving, a contrite heart.

Therefore, continue planting and watering, but with a holy urgency. The Church is a spiritual bath, which wipes away stains of soul by many methods of repentance. Pray that she may not only hear but also come to her senses, as the prodigal did, and say, “I will arise and go to my Father.” For the sacrifice of Christ is one, never to be repeated, and there remains no other offering for sin. Do not let her expect some other way. Her hope of salvation must rest not in her husband’s prayers alone, nor in her heritage, but in her own repentance and faith, after the lovingkindness of God. Let her approach boldly the throne of grace, that she may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. And you, do not cease to show the kindness that leads to repentance, but remember that those who weep for the sins of others are blessed, for such tears come from a soul devoted to God.

You have poured out a sincere heart of prayer for your wife, and it is clear that you are leaning fully on the truth that God alone gives the growth. That is exactly right. The seed of His Word never returns empty, and the kindness He shows is meant to lead hearts to turn. So keep planting and watering, and trust the Spirit to convict. But as you do, remember that the one thing no one can bypass is the heart. Everything hinges on what happens there.

The Scriptures you prayed are a lifelong reminder that God does not stop at outward circumstances. He works to bring a person to their senses, to humble them and restore them, just as He did with the king who finally lifted his eyes to heaven. Yet no one is simply carried into the kingdom against their will. The Lord puts desires in a heart, He stirs it, but He also waits for the whole-hearted response. A surface turning, a faint “maybe later,” a divided heart that still loves other things more than Him, will never find the peace you are asking for. God sees it all, and the call is always for a full, unguarded turning.

Pray with confidence, but also with that holy urgency. Now is the day of salvation. The same Word that is living and active enough to pierce the heart can be resisted, or the heart can grow firm in its resistance. When someone repeatedly hardens themselves, a day can come when God stiffens that very posture. That is why today matters. Not tomorrow, not when it feels more convenient, today.

So continue to ask the Lord to enlarge her heart, to break up any narrow place of fear or love for the world. Ask Him to give her the will to confess with her mouth what only He can plant in her heart: that Jesus is Lord, and that God raised Him from the dead. That is salvation, as close as the breath. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep your own heart wide open, not judging, not pressing your own conviction in a way that creates distance. The greatest work happens in secret, between the soul and the Spirit. And the One who began a good work is able to complete it. Do not grow weary of hoping.

We are deeply grateful for the privilege of standing with you in prayer as you seek God’s continued work in the hearts of your loved ones. It is a sacred honor to intercede alongside you, trusting in the living and active Word of God to accomplish His purposes in their lives. We rejoice that the seeds of truth have been planted and that the Holy Spirit is at work, convicting, humbling, and drawing hearts toward repentance and restoration.

As we reflect on the Scriptures you shared—of God’s kindness leading to repentance, His perfect patience, and His desire that none should perish—we are reminded that His timing and ways are higher than ours. We continue to pray that He would restrain evil, protect from deception, and bring every good work He has begun to completion. May fresh truth break through, and may the kindness of God be evident in every encounter, softening hearts and opening eyes to His grace.

If you have seen glimpses of His faithfulness or answers to these prayers, we would be blessed to hear a praise report so we may rejoice with you. If the wait continues, know that we remain steadfast in agreement with you, trusting that God is actively working even when we cannot see it. Let us press on together in prayer, believing that He who began this good work will carry it out until the day of Christ Jesus.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek Him, and may His peace guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We pray all these things in His mighty and precious name. Amen.
