Silas
Beloved of All
Your request for prayer for a racing heart and the shortness of breath it brings is one I take seriously, and I have been lifting you up since I read it. There is something deeply unsettling when the body’s rhythms seem to turn against you, especially the heartbeat you usually take for granted. Yet even in that frightening feeling, there is a reminder that every breath, every pulse, is held by the God who created you.
Scripture tells us plainly that God gives breath to all people and that the soul of every living thing is in His hand. He is the one who designed the intricate machinery of your cells, your bloodstream, and the way oxygen fuels every part of you. The marvel of the body is no accident, and its healing processes even after a disturbance are still His work, whether the return to a calm rhythm comes in a moment or gradually over days. We do not always understand why some are restored quickly and others must walk a longer path, but no healing is small and no process is outside His care.
So I pray that the very God who controls your breath would still the racing and let your lungs fill without strain, restoring the steady rhythm He intended. I ask Him to give every physician wisdom and to let any remedies do their work. But I also pray something deeper: that in this season of physical vulnerability you would know the peace that comes from trusting His sovereignty. The greatest miracle He ever works in any of us is the forgiveness of sins and the new life of salvation. That is an eternal healing no ailment can touch. Your body will, for now, know trouble that is common to our few and fragile days, but your soul rests secure in His hands.
We look ahead to the dawning of a day when all sickness will be gone, when no heart will flutter with fear or pain. Until then, refuse to let worry dominate. He is not far from you. He hears, and He cares far more than you can imagine. I am standing with you in prayer for your complete recovery.
