The Chain of Influences
Consistent good influences shape a life and demand we build them daily for ourselves and others.
A Word in Season
Christians must comfort the downcast by declaring God’s hope and salvation for all who humbly trust Him.
To Sabbath-School Teachers and Other Soul-Winners
Rescuing one lost soul from sin’s path saves a life from eternal death and covers countless sins.
We join you in lifting up your son and daughter before the Lord and we thank you for your faithful heart as a parent who wants to see your children walk in the ways of God. Children are a precious gift from Him and His desire is to guide and protect them. Psalm 127:3 says Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. And Isaiah 54:13 promises All your children will be taught by Yahweh, and great will be the peace of your children.

We agree with you in praying for their protection, that the Lord would keep them from evil and harm and from bad influences, and that He would give them wisdom to make good choices and to do well in their studies. 1 Corinthians 15:33 reminds us Don't be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals, so we pray the Lord will surround them with godly friends and influences. We also pray for wisdom and understanding for them, for James 1:5 says But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. Psalm 91:11 gives us comfort that For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.

We also lift up your specific prayers for their character and behavior. For your daughter, we pray she will grow in gentle and feminine grace and modesty as God designed, and that she will walk in obedience and respect. Ephesians 6:1 says Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right, and Ephesians 6:2-3 says Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise, that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth. We pray the Lord softens any rebellious spirit and replaces it with a loving and teachable heart. For your son, we pray the Lord will shape his behavior and help him grow in self control, kindness, and maturity, that he would become a godly young man. Proverbs 22:6 encourages us to Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it, so we encourage you to continue to teach them diligently in the Word and in prayer and by your example.

We rejoice that you covered them with the blood of Jesus and prayed for their salvation, faith, hope, health, and for the Holy Spirit to be with them always. It is only through Jesus that we have forgiveness and access to the Father, and we thank God that you have called upon His name over your children.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we bring this precious son and daughter before You. Cover them with the blood of Jesus and draw each of them to salvation and a personal faith in Christ. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, with wisdom, faith, hope, patience, understanding, loving kindness and joy. Guard them from all evil and harm, keep their feet from bad influences and help them to make good and godly choices. Bless their studies and help them to do well in school for Your glory. Teach the daughter to walk in femininity, modesty, obedience and honor, and teach the son to walk in godliness, respect and good behavior. Hold their hands every step of the way and let Your presence go with them wherever they go. Give this parent strength, wisdom and peace as they entrust their children into Your hands. We leave everything in Your hands, trusting Your perfect will and love. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We hear the love in your prayer for your son and daughter, and how deeply you want them covered, guided and kept close to the Lord through every step. Entrusting them into God's hands as you have is a good and faithful place to rest.

Parenting these years can feel heavy when you are carrying their schooling, their friendships, their behavior and their faith all at once. What often helps most is steady, warm consistency, keeping clear loving expectations while staying close and approachable so they feel safe to come to you when they face a choice or a pressure. A short calm time to pray together, even a minute at bedtime or before school, lets them hear your faith in their own language and know the Holy Spirit is invited into their day. Staying in regular contact with their teachers can also give you early insight into how they are doing and where they need extra encouragement.

We are joining you in asking God to guard them, grow their wisdom and kindness, and draw each of them to know Jesus for themselves.

Father, we lift this parent's son and daughter to You. Keep them safe from harm and from influences that would lead them away from You. Give them teachable hearts, help them do their best in school, and grow patience, kindness and respect in their home. Draw them to salvation in Christ and let Your Spirit guide them day by day. Give their parent wisdom, strength and peace as they trust You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Your prayer for your son and daughter is a tender and faithful thing, to bring them before the throne of grace and leave them in the hands of the Lord who loves children and hears the cry of a parent.

We join you in asking the Lord to watch over them and keep them, to hedge them about from evil and from harmful influence, and to guide their steps day by day. We pray that He will grant them good health, a sound mind, and hearts that are loving and kind, patient and understanding, and that the Holy Spirit will work in them to bring forth the fruit of faith and obedience. Above all we pray for their salvation, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved but the name of Jesus Christ. We ask that each of them may look unto Him and be saved, trusting not in any merit of their own but wholly in His blood shed for sinners, and that so being covered by that precious blood they may know forgiveness and new life.

Scripture teaches us that faith is the morning star of obedience, and that true faith brings forth good fruit. As you have prayed that your daughter may walk in modesty and with a respectful and gentle spirit, and that your son may be steadied in his behavior and grow in wisdom, we pray that the Lord will help you to train them in the way they should go, with loving and firm instruction. Obedience is the highest practical courage and the very essence of a walk with God, to observe to do according to all that the Lord has commanded, turning not to the right hand or to the left. May He give you strength to persist in this scrupulous care, and may He give your children willing hearts to heed your godly counsel and above all to heed the voice of Christ.

We pray that the Lord will give them wisdom to make good choices, diligence in their studies, and joy in their homes, that they may do well in school and be kept from companions who would lead them astray. That separatedness which keeps a child from the ways of the world is involved in his preservation, for only in walking near to God is there safety. May the Lord hold their hands at every step, keep their feet from stumbling, and cause them to grow in faith and hope and love.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, look upon this parent's children with mercy. Draw each of them by Thy grace to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and so be saved. Grant them protection from evil, deliverance from bad influence, and a love for what is pure and good. Clothe them with humility and kindness, teach the daughter to honor her parents and to walk in graciousness, teach the son to walk in steadiness and self control, and grant to both obedient hearts toward Thee. Fill them with wisdom and understanding, keep them in good health, and let Thy Holy Spirit dwell with them and lead them all their days. We leave them in Thy hands, trusting Thy faithful care, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
