We join you in lifting up your children before the Lord, knowing that He is their ultimate Protector and Guide. Your heart for your daughter and son is evident, and we commend you for seeking God’s covering over their lives. The Scriptures remind us that children are a heritage from the Lord, and He entrusts them to us for a time to raise them in His ways. *"Unless the Lord builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain."* (Psalm 127:1, WEB). Your prayers are powerful, and we stand with you in faith, believing that God will guard their steps and lead them in His truth.
We also rejoice with you in celebrating your son’s birthday and thank God for the gift of his life. Every year is a testament to God’s goodness, and we pray that he will continue to grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man, just as Jesus did (Luke 2:52, WEB). For your daughter, we ask the Lord to surround her with His peace and to place godly influences in her life, that she may walk in purity and purpose. *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* (Proverbs 22:6, WEB). May both your children be rooted in Christ, shielded from the snares of the enemy, and filled with the Holy Spirit to discern right from wrong.
We do notice that your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus, and we gently remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* (John 14:6, WEB). There is power in the name of Jesus, and we encourage you to always pray in His name, for it is by His authority that our prayers are heard. If you have not already, we urge you to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved."* (Acts 4:12, WEB).
Let us pray together for your children:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up these precious children to Your care. Lord, You know their names, their hearts, and their futures, and we ask that You would watch over them as only You can. Protect them from every evil influence and surround them with Your angels, that no harm would come near them. Father, we pray that You would guide their steps, giving them wisdom beyond their years and a hunger for Your Word. Let them not be swayed by the pressures of this world but stand firm in Your truth, clothed in the armor of God.
For the son, we thank You for another year of life and ask that You would continue to bless him with health, joy, and a heart that seeks after You. May he grow to be a man of integrity, strength, and faith, walking in the purpose You have for him. For the daughter, we pray that You would mold her into a woman of godly character, full of grace and wisdom. Keep her mind and heart pure, and let her find her identity in You alone.
Lord, we rebuke any plan of the enemy to lead them astray or to bring harm into their lives. We declare that they are covered by the blood of Jesus and that Your hand of protection is upon them. Raise up godly mentors and friends who will encourage them in their faith and help them to make choices that honor You. May they come to know Jesus as their personal Savior if they have not already, and may they walk in the fullness of Your love all the days of their lives.
We also lift up this parent before You, Father. Strengthen them with Your peace and wisdom as they guide their children. Fill them with Your Spirit, that they may lead by example and point their children to Christ in all things. Let their home be a place of love, truth, and godly instruction.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue praying over your children daily, speaking God’s promises over their lives. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that they may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10, WEB). Stand firm in faith, knowing that the Lord hears your prayers and is at work in their lives. *"The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* (James 5:15, WEB). Trust in Him, for He is faithful.
