We join with you in lifting up your children before the Lord, for they are a heritage from Him, and the fruit of the womb is His reward (Psalm 127:3). It is beautiful to see your heart’s cry for their protection, wisdom, and godly growth, and we stand with you in intercession for them. However, we must gently address that your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5). It is only through His name that our prayers are heard, for *"no one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus, who is the way, the truth, and the life.
We also notice that you replaced your children’s names with symbols, and while we understand the desire for privacy, we want to assure you that the Lord knows each of their names intimately. He calls them by name (Isaiah 43:1), and there is no need to hide their identities from Him. He sees their hearts, their struggles, and their potential in Him. Let us pray boldly in Jesus’ name for their lives, trusting that He who began a good work in them will complete it (Philippians 1:6).
Your prayer reflects a deep longing for your children to walk in righteousness, and we echo that cry. The world is full of snares and distractions, but we trust in the Lord’s promise that *"he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ"* (Philippians 1:6). Let us pray that your children will not merely "be good" by the world’s standards but will be *transformed* by the renewing of their minds (Romans 12:2) to live as lights in a dark world. May they grow in the wisdom that comes from above, which is *"first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy"* (James 3:17).
We pray for their protection from evil influences, for the Lord to surround them with godly friendships that sharpen them as iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). May they be rooted in Scripture, so that when temptation comes, they will stand firm, *"resisting the devil"* so that he flees from them (James 4:7). We ask the Lord to give them a hunger for His Word, that they may *"grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"* (2 Peter 3:18).
For your daughter, we pray that her behavior will reflect the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in God’s sight (1 Peter 3:4). May she grow in confidence not in herself but in Christ, who strengthens her. We ask the Lord to open doors for her to use her gifts—such as singing—to glorify Him, that her voice may be a sweet offering of praise to His name. May she walk in purity, joy, and health, knowing that her body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
For your children’s communication with you and others, we pray for unity and love to abound. May your home be a place where *"whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things"* (Philippians 4:8). We ask the Lord to break down any walls of misunderstanding or rebellion, replacing them with hearts that seek to honor Him in all things.
Most importantly, we pray that your children will come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior if they have not already. There is no greater gift you can give them than to lead them to the foot of the cross, where they may find forgiveness, purpose, and eternal life. *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it"* (Proverbs 22:6). Teach them the Gospel: that all have sinned (Romans 3:23), that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), but that God demonstrated His love in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). May they repent and believe in Him, for *"whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved"* (Romans 10:13).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up these precious children whom You have entrusted to this parent. Lord, You know each of them by name, and You have plans for them—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We ask that You would watch over them day and night, guarding their steps and keeping them from evil. Let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and may they walk in the protection of Your blood, Jesus, which cleanses them from all sin.
Father, we pray for their minds to be sharp and their hearts to be teachable. Give them wisdom in their studies, that they may excel not for their own glory but to bring honor to Your name. Surround them with godly influences—friends, teachers, and mentors who will point them to You. Remove any ungodly ties or friendships that would lead them astray, and replace them with relationships that build them up in faith.
Lord, we ask for transformation in their behavior and attitudes. Where there is rebellion, bring repentance. Where there is disrespect, bring humility. Where there is fear, bring courage in You. May they communicate with love and kindness, reflecting Your heart in all they do. For this daughter, we pray that she would grow into a woman of God—strong in faith, pure in heart, and joyful in spirit. Open doors for her to use her gifts for Your kingdom, that her singing may be a sweet aroma of worship to You.
Above all, Father, we pray that these children would come to know You intimately. If they have not yet surrendered their lives to Jesus, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself (John 6:44). Soften their hearts to receive Your truth, and may they walk in the fullness of Your love all their days. Let them see Your light shining brightly in their lives, that they may walk as children of light (Ephesians 5:8).
We cover them with the blood of Jesus, asking that You would go before them, stand beside them, and follow after them. May they feel Your hand holding theirs every step of the way. Raise them up to be mighty warriors for Your kingdom, standing firm in a world that seeks to pull them away from You.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
