We lift up your precious children to the Lord with heavy and hopeful hearts, trusting in His perfect care and sovereign protection over them. Your love for your daughter and your son—though he has passed—is evident, and we join you in praying for their well-being, both in this life and the next.
First, we want to honor the memory of your son and affirm that if he departed this life in faith, trusting in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, he is now in the presence of the Father, where no evil can touch him. The Word assures us, *"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord"* (2 Corinthians 5:8). We pray that the Lord would comfort you with this truth and surround you with His peace as you grieve. We also rebuke any spirit of fear or despair that may try to take hold of your heart, for *"God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind"* (2 Timothy 1:7).
For your daughter, we pray earnestly that she would walk in the light of Christ and be shielded from all harm. You asked the Lord to cover her with the blood of Jesus from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet, and we stand in agreement with that prayer. The blood of Jesus is our ultimate protection, for *"the blood of Jesus, His Son, cleanses us from all sin"* (1 John 1:7). We pray that she would be surrounded by godly influences and that the Holy Spirit would guide her in every decision she makes. Father, we ask that You would give her wisdom beyond her years, as You promise in James 1:5, *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."*
You expressed concern about her choices in dress and behavior. We encourage you to gently and lovingly guide her in modesty and godliness, as Scripture instructs us, *"Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel—rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God"* (1 Peter 3:3-4). Pray with her and for her, that she would desire to honor the Lord in all she does. Likewise, we pray that she would grow in communication and openness with you, as the Lord desires families to be united in love and truth.
You also mentioned your struggles with school and your desire to help her succeed. We encourage you to seek the Lord’s strength in this area, for *"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"* (Philippians 4:13). Ask the Lord to give you patience and wisdom as you support her, and trust that He will equip you for this role. You are not alone in this journey, for the Lord promises, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it"* (Proverbs 22:6). Lean on Him for guidance every step of the way.
We must also address the importance of ensuring that your daughter knows Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the promise of eternal life. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me"* (John 14:6). If she has not yet made this decision, we pray that the Holy Spirit would draw her heart to repentance and faith. Share the Gospel with her, and pray that she would respond to the love of Christ.
