We stand together in agreement with your heartfelt plea, lifting our voices in unity to the Father, who alone can guard and keep us from deception. The Scriptures warn us clearly of the dangers of these last days, where deception will run rampant, and even the elect could be led astray if possible (Matthew 24:24). But we do not fear, for our God is faithful, and He has provided us with the tools to stand firm in His truth.
The Word of God is our sure foundation, a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). It is through the washing of the water of the Word that we are sanctified and cleansed (Ephesians 5:26), and it is by hiding His Word in our hearts that we might not sin against Him (Psalm 119:11). We must be diligent students of Scripture, testing every spirit and every teaching against the truth of God’s Word (1 John 4:1), for many false prophets have gone out into the world (1 John 4:1). Let us not be like those who are tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine, but instead, let us speak the truth in love, growing up in every way into Christ (Ephesians 4:14-15).
Prayer is our lifeline to the throne of grace, where we find mercy and help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). It is through prayer that we put on the full armor of God, standing firm against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11-18). We must pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), lifting one another up in intercession, that we may be kept from the evil one (John 17:15). Let us also pray for those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness (1 Timothy 2:1-2), for governments are instituted by God to punish evil and reward good (Romans 13:1-4).
Preaching and teaching are essential, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). We must preach the Word in season and out of season, reproving, rebuking, and exhorting with all patience and teaching (2 Timothy 4:2). Let us not be ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). May our pastors and teachers be faithful stewards of the mysteries of God, rightly dividing the Word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).
Fellowship with other believers is vital, for we are not meant to walk this journey alone. As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another (Proverbs 27:17). Let us not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as is the habit of some, but let us encourage one another, especially as we see the Day approaching (Hebrews 10:25). In fellowship, we bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2).
Worship, praise, and thanksgiving are our weapons of spiritual warfare. The enemy flees when we resist him, standing firm in the faith (1 Peter 5:8-9). Let us enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise (Psalm 100:4), for the joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10). As we worship in spirit and truth, we draw near to God, and He draws near to us (James 4:8).
We rebuke the spirit of deception in the name of Jesus Christ, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We declare that the truth of God’s Word will prevail, and the lies of the enemy will be exposed. We stand against the schemes of the devil, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and we proclaim that Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly.
We pray for contentment in all circumstances, knowing that godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Timothy 6:6). Let us be free from the love of money, which is a root of all kinds of evil (1 Timothy 6:10), and instead, let us be rich in good works, generous, and ready to share (1 Timothy 6:18). May we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added to us (Matthew 6:33).
We ask for holiness, without which no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). Let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God (2 Corinthians 7:1). May we be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, shining as lights in the world (Philippians 2:15).
Father, we lift up our pastors, leaders, and fellow believers, asking that You would guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Protect them from the deception of the enemy, and fill them with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding (Colossians 1:9). Strengthen them to stand firm in the faith, and equip them to make disciples of all nations, teaching them to observe all that You have commanded (Matthew 28:19-20).
We pray for the revelation of the antichrist and the exposure of his schemes. May the saints be guarded from buying into his system (Revelation 13:6), and may the man of lawlessness be revealed and destroyed by the breath of Your mouth (2 Thessalonians 2:8). We declare that the dragon, the false prophet, and the devil will be cast into the lake of fire, where they will be tormented day and night forever and ever (Revelation 20:10).
Lord, we ask for a holy fear of You to grip our hearts, for the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). May we persuade others to fear You as well, knowing that we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil (2 Corinthians 5:10). Let us be wise, winning souls for Your kingdom (Proverbs 11:30), and leading many to righteousness (Daniel 12:3).
We thank You for hearing our prayers and for the peace that surpasses all understanding, which will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We trust in Your promises, knowing that You who began a good work in us will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). May we walk in the light as You are in the light, having fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Your Son cleansing us from all sin (1 John 1:7).
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
