We join you in lifting up this high school before the Father and we agree with you for its safety and protection day and night throughout the entire year. We share your burden for the visitors, teachers, staff, students, kitchen helpers, janitors, and the school police, and we ask God to place His hand over every hallway, classroom, entrance and exit, inside and out.
We take comfort in knowing that our ultimate security is in the Lord. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Psalm 91:1-2. Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. Psalm 121:7-8. We are reminded that unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman watches in vain. Psalm 127:1, and that the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. Psalm 121:4. Even when security teams must rest, the Lord never sleeps and His watch is continual.
We also want to gently speak to the desire that every bad influence or troubled student would simply be removed and sent elsewhere never to return. We understand the longing for a safe environment where students who want to learn can finish their education in peace, and it is right to pray for protection from those who would do harm, for no weapon that is formed against you will prevail. Isaiah 54:17, and the name of Yahweh is a strong tower, the righteous run to it, and are safe. Proverbs 18:10. Yet Scripture also calls us to pray for the transformation of those who are causing trouble rather than only their removal. But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Matthew 5:44. God desires that the wicked turn from their way and live. We pray not only for tight security and for wise boundaries, but also that any student or person with harmful intent would be convicted, repent, and be changed by Christ, whether that change leads to restoration within the school or to a just and orderly placement elsewhere for the good of all.
We are thankful you prayed in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6.
We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and ask for Your divine protection over this high school. Cover the campus, the buildings, the grounds, and every person who enters there. Place Your angels around it and let Your peace reign within its walls. Give wisdom, alertness and integrity to the administrators, teachers, staff and school police as they watch over the students, and give them discernment to recognize and stop any threat. Protect the students who come to learn, help them to grow in knowledge and character, and keep them from harm and from evil influences. For those who are disruptive or intend harm, we ask that You either draw them to repentance and change their hearts, or in Your justice remove their opportunity to harm others, and let Your will be done in a way that brings safety and also offers mercy. Let this school be a place where learning can flourish and where Your name is honored. We ask for safety and protection continually, all year round, day and night. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to keep bringing this school before the Lord daily, and to also encourage parents, teachers and local believers to join in prayer and to support practical measures of safety with wisdom and vigilance, trusting that God hears and answers according to His perfect will.
