Just wondering...

Wondering if a certain personality trait is looked upon one way or another in the Bible.Because I have my own ideas on it.There's this lady I deal with who,I believe, is a hypochondriac. She's not deathly sick, but all she does is constantly jump from one doctor to another,{I drive her, as a job.}As soon as she finishes with one doctor, she's informing me that there's another...and another...and another. Her only goal in life is to go to the next doctor. NOW...my view on this , from a Biblical viewpoint,is that she's placing more faith in the doctors than in God.I feel that her belief that she's always sick, and needs one doctor after another, is a lack of faith.Remember, Jesus, healed "all those that were oppressed of the devil". "oppressed of the devil". I would think, meant not only physical sickness, but that mindset like hers that focuses an issue like that. and seeks for a worldly solution to a spiritual mindset problem...Just wondering if the Bible addresses anything similar to hypochondria,or viewpoints on this mindset.

Luke 8:43, the woman that was healed by touching the hem of Jesus garment had spent everything she had on physicians. Are you wanting us to pray for her healings and her salvation? Some people do have ailments that others can't figure out. Did you tell her about Jesus the Great Physician, the one that made the doctors? How do you know she is a hypochondriac? Do doctors refer her to other doctors? Should we judge her as a hypochondriac or pray for her to have her eyes opened and see that Jesus can heal and save her?

Both!! We tell her the Way, but at the same time if we notice things, and if she's sending me running to take her to doctors every day, I can't help but think it's mostly psychological.

We don't need to do more than we are commanded or instructed to do. We tell others about Jesus and pray for them but we don't need to put more on them than they already have by naming new problems for them and for us. If we judge others we cause that judgement to fall on our very own selves don't we? Do you desire to be a hypochondriac? I believe your heart is in the right place but we don't have to think so deep into someone else's life to share Jesus with them. There are only 2 different people in the world with us, those that need Jesus and those that have Jesus :)

Well, I think if she was like that in her own time, but wouldn.t involve me, it wouldn't be on my mind enough to post about it, but since she's calling me for the same run over and, over, when I'm dealing with her to that extent,it kind of pushes itself on me.Also, while you say I could be claiming something false about her, I could ask you, how can you say you know for certain she's NOT a hypochodriac? As for becoming what you call someone else, when someone hands out tracts sayingthe unsaved person is going to hell, does that mean the Christian who gave the tract out will go to Hell?Your way of not saying anything negative, ever,by that reasoning, you may as well not witness to anyone, because we have to tell them they're sinners, in order to for them to know WHY they need to be saved.Sometimes the medicine to cure the sickness is bitter, but needs to be taken. But about her, one thing you don't see from a distance is, she's been making a pest of herself, just today she kept calling me back at inconvenient times, about the same subject, doctors. So{I admit}, I think the fact that she's annoying me every other moment with her obsession, is what prompted me to speak on it.

You will do what you want. If it makes you feel good you do what Jesus wants. Why didn't you just pray for her and pray that Jesus delivers you from being tormented or bothered?

I don't tell anyone they are going to hell but rather that everyone who doesn't believe in Jesus is going to hell.

If everyone stopped using you for a ride do you have something else to do to earn a living? Are you thankful for her and everyone else that you are earning an income? Did Jesus call the woman that touched His garment a hypochondriac? No Jesus says your faith has made you whole! If only we could put on the mind of Jesus without thinking about it. What good does it do us to think about our lives?

Just wondering...in the Old Testament, sinners would get struck down. Sodom and Gommorah, the flood, etc. Even Lot's wife, when she disobeyed God, was turned into a pillar of salt. Nowadays, instead of quick judgments like that, we have people doing things, and saying things that are really so...

Every day, before we get up from bed and see the light of a new day we should bow down before the Lord our God and say.... I just want to praise You. Lift my hands and say... I love You. You are everything to me. And I exalt Your holy name on high. I exalt You now. Let us draw closer to Jesus...
