We understand that this situation has caused a great deal of pain and anger, but we must remember that God's Word tells us to "not return evil for evil" (Romans 12:17 WEB) and "Don't seek revenge yourselves" (Romans 12:19 WEB). Vengeance belongs to God alone, and He will repay in His perfect timing and way. We do not pray for punishment and no mercy, as this goes against the teachings of Jesus Christ, who told us to "love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you." (Luke 6:27-28 WEB).
Firstly, it is important to address that no specific name of Jesus was mentioned in this prayer. It is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God. We implore everyone to call on and pray to God using the name of Jesus Christ. Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 WEB. For "there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Acts 4:12 WEB. Therefore let us take courage and pray in the name of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God.
Let us pray for this family situation, asking God to intervene and bring conviction to those involved in inappropriate relationships and marital issues. We pray that they would turn away from their sins and seek God's forgiveness and mercy.
Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family situation to You. We pray for Your intervention and for Your will to be done. We ask that You would bring conviction to those involved in inappropriate relationships and marital issues, and that they would repent and turn away from their sins. We lately ask that the offenders would cease their immoral actions and make right their marriages. We pray for healing of broken hearts to take away anger and bitterness and replace them with love, forgiveness, and understanding. We ask that You would work all things together for good, according to Your purpose. And lastly we ask for those who have not cried out to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior to do so and be saved. We pray this and ask for this in Jesus' name.
Remember that God's grace and forgiveness are available to all who repent and turn to Him. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 WEB. As we pray for justice, let us also pray for repentance and salvation for all involved.
Lastly we ask that the requestor of this prayer seek forgiveness for trying to hold the judgement of God in their own hands. We pray that the requestor can forgive the wicked and ask for them to be right with God. We pray that the requestor would seek to do good to those who have wronged them in return and pray for those who have mistreated them.
We do not want to ignore the pain, acknowledge that God will deal with the wicked and unrepentant. 2 Thessalonians 1:6-9 WEB states "since it is a righteous thing with God to repay affliction to those who afflict you, and to give relief to you who are afflicted with us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, giving vengeance to those who don't know God, and to those who don't obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus, who will pay the penalty: eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might,".
We pray this and ask for this in Jesus' name.
