Summary (due to privacy): Prayer request related to employment or work situation.

Dhitlor

Humble Servant of All
Please pray for me about this: I am currently in training for my new job. There are three other people training with me. As part of training, myself and the other people in training have to study through sets of resources that have been compiled for us. Two of the people in my training group have moved very, very quickly through those sets of resources which contain a LOT of information while myself and another person (who is elderly) have not moved as quickly as them. I was keeping up pace with these other two individuals at first. However, when the material became heavier, I started to get behind a bit as I was trying to properly process information (retaining information needed to help clients is very important in this job and I HAVE been retaining information well - it's very apparent to even my supervisor). The other coworker who also started to get behind was already struggling from the beginning to keep up (she seems to be struggling with the technology that we use and with studying/retaining the information we are studying for the job; again, she is elderly). Eventually, her and I were going at the same pace while the other two people in training have been moving extremely fast forward through the other resources completing the checkpoints for them. My supervisor and manager then gave me and this coworker who are behind two extra days to keep up with the other two individuals. I did my work for the day and clocked out with the intention of clocking in later in the day to do extra work to catch up. I just looked in my work email as I was going to log back in and my supervisor has now sent an email requesting that I move on to some different resources (while also giving me deadlines for reaching certain resources - to be honest I'm concerned about whether I can meet those deadlines as this is A LOT of information to study; I'm also concerned that if I'm expected to rush through these resources, I will not know what I need to know to properly help clients). I don't know whether the tone of the email is positive or negative but I'm beginning to question whether this is the right job to be at. I really believed that God had brought me here but this is starting to look like it may not work out. Maybe there is spiritual warfare involved influencing negative interactions with people at my job (I have posted before about spiritual warfare targeting me by using other people in my life/environment to attack me). My family needs this extra money that this job could have afforded us so badly. Please pray. Thank you.

We hear your heart and the weight of this situation pressing upon you. First, we want to affirm that your desire to process information thoroughly and retain it well is commendable—especially in a role where you’ll be serving others. It reflects a godly diligence and care that honors the Lord. The pressure to rush through material at the expense of true understanding is not of God, for He does not operate in confusion or haste (1 Corinthians 14:33). We also recognize the financial strain your family is under, and we stand with you in bringing this burden before the Father, who knows your needs before you even ask (Matthew 6:8).

The comparison trap you describe—measuring your progress against others—is a snare the enemy often uses to breed discouragement and self-doubt. Scripture warns us, *"For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise"* (2 Corinthians 10:12). Your pace is not a reflection of your capability or calling. The Lord has uniquely equipped you for this role, and He will sustain you in it if it is His will. The fact that your supervisor has acknowledged your retention of information is evidence of His hand at work.

We must also address the spiritual warfare you’ve sensed. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he will exploit moments of vulnerability—like job training—to sow doubt about God’s provision and purpose. But we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord has not brought you this far to abandon you now. If this job is not the right fit, He will make a way where there seems to be no way (Isaiah 43:19). If it is His will for you to remain, He will give you the strength to meet every deadline and the wisdom to navigate these challenges.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that may be whispering lies about your future. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We also rebuke any pride or impatience in your coworkers or supervisors that may be contributing to this pressure. Pray for humility—for yourself and others—that the Lord’s peace would reign in this environment.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister in this time of uncertainty. Lord, You see the weight upon their heart—the fear of not measuring up, the pressure to perform, and the financial need pressing in. We ask that You would calm their spirit and remind them that their worth is not found in their pace or performance, but in Christ alone. Father, grant them clarity as they study, retention as they learn, and favor in the eyes of their supervisors. If this job is not Your will for them, we ask that You close the door gently and open another that aligns with Your purpose. If it is Your will, we ask that You remove every obstacle and provide supernatural strength to meet every deadline with excellence.

We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We bind the spirit of fear, comparison, and discouragement, and we loose Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Lord, let Your light shine in this workplace, softening hearts and fostering unity. Provide for their family’s needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19), and let them trust in You alone as their Provider.

We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. We trust that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28), and we ask that You give them the grace to rest in Your sovereignty. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to the truth that God’s timing is perfect. If this job is not the right fit, He will redirect your steps. If it is, He will equip you for every task ahead. Continue to seek Him in prayer and Scripture, and do not hesitate to ask for wisdom—He gives generously to all without finding fault (James 1:5). You are not alone in this. The Lord goes before you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:8).

We're right there with you, friend, as you navigate this training period. It's natural to feel overwhelmed when there's a lot to learn and deadlines to meet. But remember, God hasn't given us a spirit of fear or anxiety. He's given us a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Let's claim that promise together.

We also want to encourage you to keep your eyes on Jesus, not on those around you. Comparison can be a thief of joy, and it's not a fair measure of your progress. You're doing this for clients, not for competition. Trust that God has equipped you with everything you need to succeed in this role (2 Peter 1:3).

Let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You in Jesus' name, lifting up our ### who's feeling the pressure of this training. Lord, we ask that You would give them peace in the midst of this storm. Help them to trust in Your timing and Your plan. If this job is not Your will for them, we ask that You would close the door gently and open another one that aligns with Your purpose. If it is Your will, we ask that You would give them supernatural strength to meet every deadline with excellence.

We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We bind the spirit of fear and anxiety, and we loose Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep trusting, keep learning, and keep seeking God in all things. You've got this, and you're not alone. We're praying for you!
