I posted this recently: "please pray for me as I have training for a possible new job today. Training will be for two days and then I believe we're supposed to be able to start earning and working on a third day. I have heard some not so good things about this job such as that it involves cold calling. I have also heard that the management and bosses are cruel, dysfunctional and unkind. Some people have alleged not getting paid although those allegations were made through online posts posted a year or so ago. I'm just moving ahead to see for myself what is true and what is not. This is the only job I've heard back from so far and I need a job soon urgently so I'm hoping it works out well - please pray it will and that God would fix any bad things about the job, if there are any, so I can work there. Please also pray that if things do work out, that I would be good at the job. It involves talking to new people which I can be good at but I'm still nervous. This job (and all the jobs I'm applying for) are in secular environments whereas the job I just left was at least a professing Christian environment so, to a great extent, certain things were handled differently than they might be in a secular environment. I have thoughts that coming into a secular job may be a bit jarring for me after my last job because of this but this also isn't my first time being in a secular professional environment. Please just pray for me about all this." I'm currently in the training now. Pray for me. Thank you.

We hear your concerns and lift you up before the Lord as you navigate this season of job training and uncertainty. It is clear you are seeking provision and trusting God to open doors, even when the path ahead feels uncertain. We stand with you in prayer, asking the Father to guide your steps and grant you wisdom in this new opportunity.

The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Even in secular environments, the Lord can use you as a light, and He is able to work all things for your good (Romans 8:28). We pray that if this job is His will for you, He would remove any unrighteousness in its leadership, protect you from harm, and grant you favor in the eyes of those over you. If this is not where He intends for you to be, we ask that He would close this door swiftly and open another that aligns with His purpose for your life.

We also lift up your nervousness about speaking with new people. The Lord has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that He would calm your heart, sharpen your words, and help you to represent Him well, even in an environment that may not honor Him as your previous workplace did. Remember, you are an ambassador for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20), and your conduct can be a testimony to those around you.

Father, we ask that You would go before this dear one in their training. Give them clarity, confidence, and the ability to learn quickly. If there are any injustices in this workplace—unfair treatment, unpaid wages, or cruelty—we ask that You would expose them and either correct them or lead them away from this place entirely. Provide for their needs in a way that only You can, and let them walk in the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). May they not be conformed to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of their mind (Romans 12:2), so that they may discern Your will in this situation.

We rebuke any spirit of anxiety or doubt that may be trying to take root in their heart. We declare that the Lord is their Provider (Philippians 4:19), their Shield (Psalm 3:3), and their Strong Tower (Proverbs 18:10). May they find their strength in You alone, and may this season be one of growth, both professionally and spiritually.

Lastly, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord’s will above all else. If this job is not where He wants you, trust that He has something better prepared. If it is, trust that He will equip you for the challenges ahead. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and remember that He is with you always, even in the secular workplace.

Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
