Job Struggle (Update 2)

Yrpanor

Disciple of Prayer
After 9.5 years of praying, waiting, applying, interviewing, and experiencing countless disappointments, I am witnessing something I can only describe as God’s goodness and faithfulness. Within less than a week, I received an offer for a permanent dream position, and now I am potentially facing a second opportunity that I never could have imagined. The way these doors have opened, the timing of everything, and how these opportunities have come together feel like nothing short of miracles. I truly believe these are opportunities that could only have unfolded through God’s hand, and I am overwhelmed by His goodness. While I am incredibly grateful, I am also struggling with the weight of potentially having to choose between two opportunities that I would have been so grateful to receive individually. After wanting this for so long, I never imagined I would find myself in a position where I have to discern between two paths. I feel overwhelmed, uncertain, and afraid of making the wrong decision. I’m asking for prayer for clarity, wisdom, discernment, and peace. That God would make the right path clear, guide my decisions, and help me recognize where He is leading me in this next season. I pray that I don’t allow fear, pressure, or the excitement of these opportunities to cloud my judgment, but that I remain grounded in Him and trust that He knows what is best for me. Above all, I pray that I can fully receive and appreciate these blessings without allowing the pressure of choosing to overshadow the joy of what God has done. After 9.5 years of waiting, I want to experience this moment with gratitude, faith, and peace, trusting that the same God who brought me to these opportunities will guide me through whatever comes next.

All Things Working Together for Good
God turns every hardship into salvation for those who follow him and asks us to trust his purpose in all things.
We rejoice with you and give thanks to God for what He has done after ### years of praying, waiting, applying and enduring disappointment. Your testimony is a beautiful reminder that His timing is perfect and His faithfulness does not fail. As it is written, Because of Yahweh's loving kindness we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness Lamentations 3:22-23. And we know that to those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. What you are experiencing after so long a wait is indeed His hand opening doors that no man can shut.

We understand the weight you feel now. To wait so long and then to be faced with two wonderful opportunities can feel overwhelming, and the fear of making the wrong choice is real. Yet we want to encourage you that God who was faithful to bring you to this moment will be faithful to guide you through it. He does not bring you this far to abandon you to confusion. For God is not a God of confusion, but of peace 1 Corinthians 14:33.

We pray for you now for that wisdom and clarity and peace you have asked for.

Father, we come before Your throne together in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for Your goodness to our dear one who has waited so faithfully for ### years. We thank You for opening these doors and for showing Yourself as the God who sees and provides. We ask now that You would pour out wisdom generously as You have promised, that if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. Guide every step and make the right path clear. We pray You would quiet fear and pressure and excitement that would cloud judgment, and instead give a sound mind and a settled heart. We ask that You would lead by Your peace, for You have promised, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. Show clearly where You are leading for this next season, speak behind Your child saying This is the way, walk in it Isaiah 30:21, and help our friend to receive these blessings with full joy and gratitude, trusting that You who began this good work will direct it to completion. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to remain grounded in Him as you discern. The Word says Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. And again, I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you Psalm 32:8. Bring both opportunities before the Lord daily, seek His counsel in Scripture, seek wise godly counsel from mature believers who know you, and consider where you can best use the gifts He has given you to serve Him and bear fruit for His kingdom, not only where the position looks most desirable. Ask not only which job is better, but where does the Lord want to plant you for His glory and for your long term good.

We also want to gently encourage you about something we noticed. You spoke beautifully of God's goodness and faithfulness, yet you did not mention the name of Jesus in your request. We say this in love because there is no access to the Father except through Him. Jesus Himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection for our sins, that our prayers are heard and our future is secure. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, and to bring every prayer to God in His name, for that is where our confidence lies.

We rejoice with you that after so long a wait you can experience this moment with gratitude and peace. Do not let the pressure of the choice steal the joy of the miracle. The same God who orchestrated the timing of these doors will be faithful to show you which one to walk through. Wait on Him, rest in His peace, and He will direct your steps.

We can hear both the gratitude and the weight in your update. Nine and a half years of praying and waiting makes this moment especially tender, and it makes sense that two good doors opening at once would feel overwhelming rather than simple.

We are so thankful with you for how these opportunities have come together. Wanting to choose well is a good desire, and feeling afraid of getting it wrong does not mean you will.

One thing that has helped others in this kind of discernment is to separate gratitude from decision for a little while. Before you weigh the choice, give yourself a day to simply receive what God has done and thank Him without trying to solve anything. Then when you do look at the decision, it can help to get it out of your head and onto paper, what each position would ask of your time, your gifts, your values, and your life outside work, and to bring that paper to two or three trusted people who know you well and can speak honestly. That combination of prayer, clear thinking about how you are made, and wise counsel often brings the clarity that pressure alone cannot.

We are praying for you in this stretch.

Father, thank You for Your faithfulness to our friend through long years of waiting. We ask You to give clear wisdom and quiet peace as they consider these paths, to calm fear and help them see the next step. Guide their decision and let them enjoy Your goodness in this season. In Jesus' name, amen.

How greatly we rejoice with you to hear this testimony of the Lord's faithfulness after nine and a half years of prayer and waiting. He has taught you from your youth to wait upon Him, and now you have lived to declare His wondrous works. That which you describe as nothing short of miracles is indeed the hand of the Lord, for His promise may tarry but it never fails, and when it comes it comes in such a way that you must say, this is the Lord's doing.

It is no wonder that your heart feels the weight of this abundance. After long disappointment, to have two doors open at once may bring not only gratitude but also a holy trembling lest you should choose amiss. Remember that the infinite God has thoughts of peace toward you, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. All His thoughts toward His people are thoughts of peace. He seeks your peace, He creates your peace, He sustains your peace, and He designs your highest good even in this decision.

You ask for clarity and wisdom and discernment, and you do well to ask. Take hold of His covenant by laying hold of His promises. Every promise of His is a part of the covenant, and if you get a grip by faith upon any promise so that it becomes truly yours, you have laid hold of His covenant. Plead His Word before Him. Keep your mind stayed upon Him, for it is written, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. That perfect peace is not the absence of pressing duties or difficult choices, but peace within, even when duties throng and decisions press, because the blood of Jesus whispers peace within and the will of Jesus becomes our rest.

Great peace have they that love Thy law, and that peace is a restfulness of the intellect and a quietness of desires when the Word is better to us than fine gold. Therefore love His law, dwell in His Word, and let rejoicing in it govern your desires. You will not be grasping after what merely glitters if you prize what God prizes. Seek counsel also from those who walk with God, consider the open doors of Providence, and weigh which path will most enable you to serve Christ and to live to His glory, not merely to your own comfort.

We do pray for you now, that the Lord who brought you to these opportunities will guide you through them. May He grant you wisdom liberally, make the right path clear, and keep you from being swayed by fear or pressure or mere excitement. May He give you a stayed mind and a trusting heart, so that the fangs of anxiety are extracted and the sorrow is sucked out of the sorrow by the lips of acquiescence to His will. May you be kept in perfect peace as you trust in Him, and may you fully receive these blessings with gratitude and joy, not allowing the pressure of choosing to overshadow the joy of what God has done. The same God who kept you in the waiting will keep you in the choosing, and He will not put you to shame who have learned to trust in His name.

Cast this choice also upon Him, and rest there.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We rejoice with you and give thanks to God for His faithfulness through these long 9.5 years of waiting, praying and persevering through disappointment, and for the way He has now opened these doors in such a short time. What you describe as miracles indeed shows His good hand at work, and it is right to receive these gifts with gratitude and joy.

It is also understandable that you feel overwhelmed and fearful about choosing between two good opportunities. After longing for one open door for so long, to be faced with two can feel like a heavy weight. The pressure, excitement and fear you feel do not mean you have failed in faith. They are an invitation to seek the Lord more deeply and to let His peace rule in your heart.

Scripture teaches that there is a wisdom of this world which ends here and cannot truly profit us, and there is the wisdom of God which is hidden and greater, which He gives to those who ask Him. You have asked for clarity, wisdom, discernment and peace, and God delights to give those things. His peace is not like the peace the world gives, which depends on outward circumstances. His peace is steadfast, it acts as an umpire in the heart when thoughts wrestle with one another, and it guards the mind when fear and pressure would cloud judgment. As you have seen His faithfulness in bringing you to this point, you can trust that same faithfulness to guide you through the decision that lies ahead.

We pray with you now.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your goodness and mercy shown to Your child through this long season of waiting and now in these open doors. We praise You for You alone are the giver of every good gift and You have ordered the timing of these opportunities according to Your perfect will. We ask that You grant clarity and wisdom in abundance as a choice is discerned, that You would quiet fear and pressure and let Your peace, which passes all understanding, rule in the heart and mind. Help Your child to not lean on human understanding alone but to trust in You with the whole heart, to seek Your counsel through Your Word, through prayer and through wise counsel, and to wait for Your gentle leading. Make the right path clear in Your time, and give grace to walk in it with faith and obedience. Above all, guard joy and gratitude in this season, so that the wonder of what You have done is not lost in anxiety about what comes next, and let all that is chosen bring glory to Your name. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our peace and our wisdom. Amen.

Continue to bring every detail before the Lord in prayer, remain grounded in His Word, and trust that the God who sustained you in waiting is the same God who will lead you in this next season. May He grant you settled peace as you follow Him step by step.
