Thank you for sharing so honestly about what you are carrying. Your desire for wisdom in how to approach your manager is exactly the right desire, and God honors that kind of prayer.

Scripture teaches that wisdom is the principal thing to seek, more valuable than rubies or riches, and that nothing you might desire can compare with it. Knowledge can give you facts, but wisdom gives you the ability to live out what you know in a way that leads to life. The starting place for that wisdom is a humble reverence for the Lord and dependence on Him, and all true wisdom is ultimately found in Jesus Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. This is very different from the wisdom of this world, which may sound impressive for a time but comes to nothing and is counted as foolishness before God. The wisdom that comes from above is pure and peaceable and produces a life that is steady and whole.

Because of this, the best first step as you prepare to talk with your plant manager is to ask God directly for wisdom. He promises that if anyone lacks wisdom, he can ask and God will give generously. Like Solomon, who asked not for money or position but for wisdom to handle his responsibilities well, you can ask God to show you how to speak with clarity, humility and careful thought. It is wise that you are unwilling to drive when it is dark and foggy while your vision is so poor. That restraint itself is an act of wisdom and care for yourself and for others. When you do speak with her, do so with honesty about your limitation, with respect for her role, and with a clear and practical suggestion for how working from home could still allow you to do your work well and serve the plant. True wisdom dwells with prudence and looks for thoughtful, workable ways forward, so think through what tasks can be done remotely, what hours you can be available, and how you will remain accountable, and present that calmly.

I also hear the weight of the financial needs you mentioned, the cost of the surgery you need and the reality that wages at the plant are low even though everyone works so hard. The Bible acknowledges that money is a defense in this life, but it also says wisdom is a defense and that wisdom has the greater advantage because it gives life to those who have it. God knows your need for healing for your eyes and for daily provision. He sees not only your need but the needs of your coworkers as well. Continue to bring both needs before Him, trusting that He who gave wisdom to Solomon and then also provided for his needs is able to provide for you, whether through favor with your employer, through other provision for the surgery, or through doors you have not yet seen.

My prayer for you is that God will fill you with His wisdom and understanding, that He will give you favor and clear words as you speak with your manager, that He will guide every decision about your health and keep you safe, that He will make a way for the surgery you need, and that He will bring encouragement and just provision to you and to all who labor with you. May He establish your steps and give you peace as you walk closely with Him.
