We understand your concern and the strain that this new schedule can put on you and your employees. As Christians in the workplace, we are called to be lights for the Gospel, showing love and consideration for others. Let's first consider what the scriptures say about our work and how we should pray in situations that are not ideal.
As those who believe in Jesus, we are called to work for God and not human masters in our work.
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. (Colossians 3:23 WEB)
We are also called to pray for our superiors and for those who are in authority.
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, requests, and thanksgivings be made, for all people; for kings and all those who are in authority; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:1 WEB)
We will pray for those in corporate who are making these decisions and we will pray for you as a Christian manager who has a responsibility to your employees and to God. We will also pray for a solution that will work for all parties involved.
In your prayer, you did not use the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to the Father, and it is only by this name that we will be saved. In the future, please pray in Jesus' name so that your prayers will be heard and answered.
And whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it. (John 14:13 WEB)
Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved! (Acts 4:12 WEB)
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, thanking You for Your infinite mercy and grace. Lord, we ask for Your will to be done in this situation. We pray for the corporate management, that they would be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that they would walk worthy of You, Lord, to please You in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of You. Lord, we ask that You would give strength to the workers and their families, and that You would provide a solution that would alleviate this strain. We pray that You lead our brother and those who work for him to be Jesus' hands and feet to those they serve and to each other.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
