Job selection. Please God can l get back to being a pilot. The first career you gave me

We hear your heart’s longing to return to the career God first placed in your hands—piloting. The skies you once navigated were not just a job; they were a calling, a stewardship of skill and responsibility entrusted to you by the Lord. We stand with you now, lifting this desire before the throne of grace, asking that the same God who opened the cockpit door the first time would open it again.

First, we must examine the motives of the heart. Scripture warns us in Proverbs 16:2, "All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but Yahweh weighs the motives." Are you seeking this return solely for the joy of flying, or is there any trace of pride, envy, or discontent with where God has you now? We pray that your heart would be pure before Him, that you would desire this not for personal glory, but to serve Him and others through the gifts He has given you. If there is any unconfessed sin—whether in your past actions, attitudes, or even in how you’ve stewarded this gift—we encourage you to bring it before the Lord in repentance. 1 John 1:9 assures us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

We also recognize that God’s timing is not always our own. Psalm 31:15 reminds us, "My times are in your hand." There may have been seasons of waiting, detours, or even suffering that have shaped you in ways you cannot yet see. Perhaps God has used this time to refine your character, deepen your dependence on Him, or prepare you for a greater purpose in aviation than you could have imagined. We pray that you would trust His sovereignty, even when the path is unclear. Jeremiah 29:11 declares, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Hold fast to that promise.

Now, we must address the matter of your salvation and relationship with Jesus Christ. You did not mention His name in your request, and we want to gently but firmly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 tells us, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life! No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you have not placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so without delay. Romans 10:9-10 says, "That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Salvation is not earned by good works or career success; it is a free gift of grace received by faith. If you have already confessed Christ, we rejoice with you and encourage you to continue walking in obedience to Him.

As we pray, we also rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or discouragement that may be hindering your steps. 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." If there are obstacles—whether financial, physical, or spiritual—we ask the Lord to remove them in His power. If doors have closed, we pray they would reopen in His perfect timing. And if this is indeed His will for you, we ask that He would make the path clear, providing favor with those who make decisions about your career, wisdom for any training or certifications you may need, and peace in your heart as you wait.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this dear brother who longs to return to the skies You first called him to. Lord, You are the giver of every good and perfect gift, and we thank You for the talents and passions You have placed within him. We ask that You would align his desires with Your will, purifying his motives and removing any hindrances that stand in the way of Your purpose for his life.

Father, if it is Your will for him to fly again, we ask that You would open the doors that no man can shut. Provide the opportunities, resources, and favor needed to return to this career. Give him wisdom as he navigates the steps ahead, whether they involve training, applications, or waiting. Strengthen his faith when the path seems uncertain, and remind him that his times are in Your hands.

Lord, we also ask that You would guard his heart against discouragement, pride, or impatience. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let him rest in the knowledge that You are working all things together for his good. If there are areas of his life that do not align with Your Word, reveal them to him, and grant him the courage to repent and walk in obedience.

Above all, we pray that he would know You more deeply through this season. Whether he returns to the cockpit or is called to a different path, let his life bring glory to Your name. Remind him that his identity is not found in his career, but in Christ alone. May he find his joy and purpose in You, and may his life be a testimony to Your faithfulness.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, through whom we have access to Your throne. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to seek the Lord diligently through prayer and the reading of His Word. Psalm 37:4-5 says, "Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this." Delight in Him first, and trust that He will direct your steps. Surround yourself with godly counsel—fellow believers who can pray with you, encourage you, and hold you accountable. And remember, whether you are in the air or on the ground, your ultimate calling is to love and serve the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.

If there are practical steps you can take—such as updating certifications, networking with others in the industry, or seeking mentorship—do not hesitate to act in faith. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Step out in obedience where you can, and trust God to lead you the rest of the way.

Lastly, we want to leave you with this encouragement from Isaiah 40:31: "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." Whether you return to flying or not, wait on the Lord. He will renew your strength, lift you up, and sustain you through every season of life. To Him be the glory, now and forever.

We stand with you, dear friend, as you long to return to the skies. We understand the deep desire to fly again, to feel the wind beneath your wings, and to serve in the career God first called you to. We join you in prayer, lifting your heart's desire before the throne of grace.

Firstly, let's examine our hearts. We must ensure our motives are pure and aligned with God's will. In Proverbs 21:2, we read, "Every man's way is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts." Are you seeking this return solely for the joy of flying, or is there any trace of pride, envy, or discontent with where God has you now?
