I feel like I've been facing a lot of spiritual warfare in my career. I've been seeking a full-time, permanent job, but every time things seem to be working out, something unexpected happens and the opportunity ends. After three layoffs in the past four years and several difficult work situations, I'm believing God for a breakthrough. Please pray with me and for me. Thank you.

We hear your heart and we stand with you in this season of waiting and disappointment, and we do not take lightly the weight of three layoffs in four years and so many doors that have seemed to open only to close again. What you are describing is real, and scripture tells us that spiritual warfare is real as well, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. The enemy would love to use instability and discouragement to make you doubt God's goodness and provision, but we know that God is not the author of confusion and He sees your diligence and your desire to work and provide.

We also take comfort that even in setbacks God is still sovereign and working for good. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. He has thoughts of peace toward you and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. He calls us to trust Him with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding, and in all our ways acknowledge Him and He will make our paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. Your desire for a full time permanent job that allows you to use the gifts He has given you is good and honors Him, for whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. We encourage you to continue to be diligent in seeking, to steward your skills well, to remain in prayer and in the Word, and to put on the whole armor of God daily so you can stand firm against discouragement, fear, and doubt. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We noticed you said you are believing God for a breakthrough, and we rejoice in your faith, yet we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is in His name that we can boldly bring your request for employment before the throne of grace.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we lift up our brother or sister to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We thank You that You know every layoff, every disappointment, and every tear, and that You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. We rebuke the schemes of the enemy that would seek to steal hope and block opportunity, and we ask You to break every chain of spiritual warfare coming against this career. We ask for Your favor to open the right door for a full time permanent job that is stable and where our friend can work heartily unto You and be a light for Christ. Grant wisdom to hiring managers, grant peace that surpasses understanding while waiting, and grant provision for every need in the meantime. Help us to trust Your timing and Your purpose, knowing You are working even when we cannot see it, and let this breakthrough be a testimony of Your faithfulness. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our provider, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking, keep knocking, and keep abiding in Christ. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up. We are believing with you for that breakthrough and for God to establish the work of your hands for His glory.

We hear your desire for something stable, a full time permanent place where you can use what God has given you and provide with dignity. That longing for steadiness after so much disruption is completely understandable.

When the pattern keeps repeating it can help to pause and get some clear perspective alongside prayer. One thing that has helped others in a long season of transition is to sit down with a trusted mentor or a career counselor and take stock together, your interests, talents, values and skills, and how you sense God leading you in this next chapter. It can bring clarity about what kind of work fits you best and where to focus your energy. It can also help to give the search itself a sustainable rhythm, a set time each week for applications and for reaching out to contacts, and protected time to rest, so it does not have to carry every hour of your day.

We are praying for you.

Father, we lift our brother to You and ask for Your provision and guidance in this job search. Give him wisdom for each next step, peace in the waiting, and encouragement when discouragement comes. Open the right door in Your timing and sustain him and those who depend on him until then. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Hello friend. I am sorry to hear of all your difficulties with your career and work. I will pray on your behalf for a resolution, for a miracle and breakthrough and that God blesses you favorably with a great opportunity. Your request has been laid before the Lord with sincere prayer and heaviness of heart for what you have endured. To face three layoffs in four years, with other hard providences and disappointed hopes, is a trial that would weary any spirit, and I do not wonder that you feel the weight of it and discern in it a spiritual conflict.

Be assured that the Lord knows your need and your desire for honest and stable work. Nothing escapes His eye and no door closes without His knowledge. When opportunities rise and then suddenly fall away, it is not that He has forgotten you, but that He is working a purpose which may yet be hidden from you. The same God who clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows has promised to care for His children, and He will withhold no good thing from them that walk uprightly. Though the warfare is real and the adversary would have you despair, remember that our great Captain has already overcome, and He keeps His people even in the furnace.

I would also set before you the greater mercy which underlies every other mercy. The Scripture says, He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, he that believeth not shall be damned. Christ died for sinners. Can you say that you are a sinner. If so, His death was for you. To believe on the Lord Jesus Christ is to have the sure foundation beneath every other hope. If you have not yet cast yourself wholly upon Him, I entreat you to do so now, for there is no other name by which we must be saved. And if you are already His, then you may come with confidence, for He that set His love upon you has promised to deliver you.

I have prayed and will continue to pray that the Lord will in His perfect wisdom and timing grant you a full time and permanent place of labour where you may provide with dignity and serve Him faithfully, that He will guard your heart from discouragement and give you peace while you wait, and that He will make even these years of disappointment to work for your good and His glory. May He open the right door which no man can shut, and give you strength to walk through it in faith.

May the Lord hear your cry, sustain you day by day, and show you that He is your portion and your provider.

Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
