Job search Very disappointed

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Hello, I'm having a very difficult time during this job search, there are no open doors. I placed my resume online but I'm too exhausted to even work again. After over ### years of false narratives, mobbing and abuse a the previous workplace, I am physically depleted. I've asked the Lord for provision in Jesus name multiple times, but I've had to do it myself. Please pray for my soul in Jesus name because at the moment I do not have the motivation to pray or read the Bible. Life has gotten too difficult.

The Battle for Bread
We hear your heart and we grieve with you in this season of deep exhaustion and disappointment. After many years of enduring false narratives, mobbing and abuse in the workplace, it is understandable that you feel physically depleted and that even looking for work feels like more than you can bear. We want you to know that the Lord sees all that you have suffered, He knows the truth when others have spoken falsely against you, and He is not distant from your weariness.

We thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and find true provision and rest. You shared that you have asked the Lord for provision in Jesus name but have felt you had to do it yourself. We understand that tension, and we gently remind ourselves together that God often works through our own hands while still being the source of all provision. When doors do not open right away, it is not because He has forgotten us, but because His timing and His way are higher than ours. We are called to trust Him and not lean on our own understanding, as it is written, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Prov 3:5-6

Your exhaustion of body and soul is something God understands deeply. He does not rebuke you for having no motivation to pray or read, He invites you to simply come as you are. Jesus said, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matt 11:28-30. And we are reminded, He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might. Isa 40:29. When our hearts are overwhelmed, He is our refuge, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Ps 46:1, and When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Ps 61:2

We also cling to the promise that God has a future for you beyond this painful chapter. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jer 29:11. Even when we feel we cannot go on, His grace remains sufficient, for He has said, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Cor 12:9. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7

So we lift you up together in prayer now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace on behalf of our dear brother or sister who is weary and heavy laden. Lord, You see the years of abuse and mobbing, You know every false word spoken and every wound left on body and soul. We ask You to bring deep healing to this depleted body and to this discouraged heart. Wrap Your arms of comfort around them when they have no strength to pray, and let Your Holy Spirit intercede for them. We ask You to be their provider, to open the right door for work in Your perfect timing, a place of dignity and peace where their labor will be valued and where You will be honored. Until that door opens, sustain them daily, give them rest and restore their strength as they wait upon You. Rekindle in them a small spark of desire for Your Word and Your presence, not out of duty but out of Your gentle love, and remind them that even a whispered name of Jesus is a prayer You hear. Let them know they are not forgotten and that You are working even in this silence. We pray for renewed hope, for physical restoration, and for the peace that guards heart and mind. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to not condemn yourself for this dryness. Even a single verse a day or a brief honest prayer of Lord, help me, is precious to Him. He will renew your strength as you wait on Him, those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint. Isa 40:31. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we don’t give up. Gal 6:9. We are standing with you, asking God to lift this burden, to restore your soul, and to provide for every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

We hear how heavy this season has been, and we are thankful you reached out even when you feel too exhausted to pray or open your Bible.

After more than years of false narratives, mobbing and abuse at work, it is understandable that you feel physically depleted and discouraged by closed doors. Being worn down over a long time affects both body and spirit, and it makes sense that even putting your resume out there feels like more than you have to give right now. Not having motivation to pray in this place is not a failure, it is a sign of how tired you are, and God sees you there.

We are praying for your soul as you asked, for rest and renewed strength and for the Lord's provision and direction in the job search in His timing.

Since you mentioned feeling physically depleted and exhausted, we gently encourage you to let your doctor know as well, so you can get care for your body alongside prayer.

When you have a little strength, it can help to make things smaller and steadier. You might consider sharing honestly with one trusted pastor, counselor or friend about how depleted you feel, rather than carrying the search alone, and giving yourself permission to take one small step at a time instead of trying to fix everything at once.

Father, we lift our friend to You right now. You see this long hurt and the weariness it has left. Draw near, bring rest to body and soul, and give wisdom for each next step with work. Help him to sense Your care even when prayer feels hard. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your weariness and heaviness of heart have been heard, and there has been prayer offered for you before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

You speak as one utterly spent, and it is no wonder. To bear for years false narratives and unkind dealing, to be worn down in body and in spirit, and then to face closed doors where you hoped for open ones, is a trial that would exhaust the strongest. The Lord knows your frame, that you are dust, and He is not harsh with His wearied children. When you have no strength to pray and no heart to read, remember that the great Physician heals not only by strong doses but by His very leaves, for the least thing about Christ has healing virtue. Even a faint look to Him, even a sigh that you cannot utter in words, He understands, for the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings that cannot be uttered.

Do not think that because you have sent out your resume and labored with your own hands that the Lord has left you to provide for yourself alone. He is pleased to provide by means, and your honest labor is itself under His hand. Yet all provision is of God that showeth mercy. His sovereignty is no discouragement to a seeking soul, but a comfort, for if your help depended upon your own strength you might well despair, but it depends upon One who does not grow weary and who delights to show mercy to those who have no power to help themselves.

You are in the place of Job among the ashes, and the Lord who permitted Job to be tried did not forsake him, nor did He condemn him for his sorrow. Job tore his mantle and worshipped, and in all his grief he sinned not nor charged God foolishly. You may weep, you may mourn your losses, and yet worship still. To feel depleted and disappointed is not sin, but to conclude that God has forgotten you would be to misjudge His heart. He wounds that He may heal, and He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. That healing and pardon go together in Christ, and when He forgives He also restores.

Though your glory for a season seems not fresh in you, and your bow seems slack in your hand, remember that Job at the last received from the Lord more than he had at the first. The Lord can anoint you again with fresh oil. He can revive the spirit and renew strength, not because you have earned it, but because Christ has purchased it with His blood. Come to Him just as you are, poor and faint and without words. The gospel's healing power is present still, and it is linked with His teaching. If you cannot read many chapters, hear one promise, meditate upon one verse, let one leaf of that tree of life rest upon your wound.

We have prayed for you thus, that the Lord Jesus would be your provision and your portion, that He would forgive your sins and heal your soul, that He would lift the weight of exhaustion from your body and give you rest, that He would open the right door for honest labor in His own time, and that He would keep you from unbelieving speeches and keep you near Himself till this cloud be past. May He show you that He has not forgotten your work and your suffering, and may He give you to see His face again with a more vivid apprehension of His love, so that you shall yet say, I had heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear, but now mine eye seeth Thee.

Wait upon the Lord, even when you cannot run. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Look to Him for that divine support which upheld Job, and you shall find hope shining still, like a star which never sets.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
