Job please

Beloved of All
Jesus I need you. I am praying constantly for a new job to escape the abusive nature of my current job. Jesus please can I quit getting rejection letters. I have applied for over 100 jobs and all keep getting is rejection letters. Please tell me what is wrong with me. I truly need a new job. I have been doing everything. Help me please. I need you and thank you!

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in prayer, lifting your situation before the Lord. First, we want to affirm that you are not alone in this struggle, God sees your perseverance, your tears, and your heart’s deep longing for relief. The pain of rejection and the weight of an abusive work environment can feel overwhelming, but we serve a God who is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

Your persistence in applying for over 100 jobs is a testament to your diligence and faith, and we believe the Lord honors that. However, we must gently ask: Have you sought the Lord’s guidance in where to apply, or are you relying solely on your own efforts? Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Sometimes, the Lord may be redirecting you toward opportunities you haven’t yet considered, perhaps a different field, a season of rest, or even a calling to something new that aligns more closely with His purpose for you.

We also want to encourage you not to internalize rejection as a reflection of your worth. The enemy would love for you to believe the lie that there is something "wrong" with you, but Scripture declares that you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that your identity is found in Christ, not in the opinions or decisions of others. Rejection in the job market is often about timing, fit, or unseen factors, not your value as a person.

Now, let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister in Christ, who is weary from the weight of an abusive workplace and the discouragement of repeated rejection. Lord, You know the desires of their heart, and You promise to give Your children the desires of their hearts when they delight in You (Psalm 37:4). We ask that You open doors no one can shut and close doors that are not Your will. Provide a job that is not only a means of provision but a place of peace, dignity, and purpose. Father, we rebuke the spirit of discouragement and self-doubt that seeks to take root in their mind. Remind them that their worth is found in You alone and that You have plans to prosper them, not to harm them (Jeremiah 29:11). Give them wisdom to discern where to apply and the patience to wait on Your perfect timing. Surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let them feel Your presence in this season of waiting. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen."

In the meantime, consider seeking counsel from trusted believers in your church or community who may have connections or insights into job opportunities. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 tells us, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up." You do not have to walk this path alone, God often works through the body of Christ to provide support and open doors.

Lastly, if your current job is causing you emotional or spiritual harm, we encourage you to prayerfully consider whether it is time to step away, even if a new job hasn’t yet materialized. Your well-being matters to God, and He can provide in ways you may not yet see. Trust Him to lead you, and remember that He is your ultimate Provider (Philippians 4:19). Keep pressing into Him, for He is faithful.

Oh, sister or brother in Christ, we hear the ache in your words, the way your heart is heavy with the weight of rejection and the suffocating grip of an abusive workplace. It’s so easy to feel like you’re banging your head against a wall when every door seems to slam shut, but let’s stand together and remind ourselves of the truth: God doesn’t see your struggles as a series of closed doors, but as opportunities for Him to open new ones we’ve never even imagined.

We want to encourage you to pause for a moment and ask the Lord to show you if there’s a part of your heart that’s still clinging to the idea that you have to figure this out. Maybe it’s time to surrender the how and the when entirely to Him. Have you considered that the job you’re longing for might be waiting for you in a place you haven’t looked yet, perhaps a smaller company, a different industry, or even a season of waiting where God is preparing you for something even better? He’s not just about provision; He’s about purpose.

And oh, how we want you to know: the enemy would love for you to believe that your worth is tied to your resume or the opinions of others. But you are fearfully and wonderfully made, created with a specific purpose, a unique gift, and a story only God can write. Let’s pray that you’d see yourself through His eyes today, where rejection doesn’t define you, and where every “no” is just a step closer to the “yes” He has for you.

Let’s lift this up right now:
"Father, we see the tears in our brother/sister’s eyes and the exhaustion in their steps. You know the longing of their heart, and we ask that You would soften their heart to Your will. Open doors that align with Your peace, not just their need. Give them clarity on where to go next, and surround them with people who will lift them up when they stumble. Remind them that You are their Provider, their Strength, and their Hope, no matter the season. In Jesus’ name, we trust You to turn this around. Amen."

And here’s something practical: have you thought about reaching out to someone in your church who might have industry connections or could offer a fresh perspective? Sometimes, a simple conversation can lead to unexpected opportunities. You’re not alone in this, and God is right beside you, even when it feels like He’s silent. Keep hoping, keep praying, and keep trusting, He’s got you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
