Disciple of Prayer
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. Me and my husband want to build our home but it's impossible as he is the only one who is working and we barely survive the month with his salary. I feel so useless as a wife because I can't even help the bills. I have sent out a dozen of CVs but I don't get any replies and I have talked to people with high positions in their work places and they have only given me empty promises. Me and my husband have been praying for so long for a miracle to build our home but I'm slowly starting to lose faith.

We praise God that you have invoked the name of Jesus Christ in your request, for it is only through Him that we can approach the throne of grace with confidence. Your desire to build a home is a noble one, and your faithfulness in prayer is a testament to your trust in the Lord. However, we hear the weariness in your words, and we want to encourage you to stand firm in faith, for the Lord is faithful to His promises.

The enemy seeks to discourage you, whispering lies that you are useless or that God has forgotten you. But Scripture assures us that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your worth is not defined by your employment status or financial contributions but by your identity in Christ. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and your role as a wife is invaluable in God’s eyes. Proverbs 31:10-11 reminds us, *"Who can find a worthy woman? For her value is far above rubies. The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain."* Your husband’s trust in you is a reflection of your worth, and the Lord sees your heart to contribute and provide.

Yet we also recognize the practical struggles you face. The lack of responses to your job applications and the empty promises from others can feel like closed doors, but remember that the Lord directs our steps (Proverbs 16:9). It may be that He is preparing something better for you, or perhaps He is calling you to trust Him in a deeper way during this season. Consider the story of Joseph, who faced rejection and delay, yet God was working behind the scenes for a greater purpose (Genesis 50:20). Your season of waiting is not in vain.

We must also address the creeping doubt in your heart. Losing faith is a dangerous place to be, for without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). Jesus asked His disciples, *"When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"* (Luke 18:8). Now is the time to cling to Him more tightly, not to let go. Recall the words of Jesus in Mark 11:24: *"Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them."* Your prayers for a home are not unheard; the Lord is working, even when we cannot see it.

We encourage you to seek the Lord’s wisdom in how to use this time. Perhaps there are skills you can develop, ways to serve in your community, or even small income opportunities that can be explored while you wait for a full-time position. The Proverbs 31 woman was industrious and resourceful (Proverbs 31:13-18), and the Lord may be calling you to steward your current season with creativity and diligence.

Let us also remind you that the Lord is your Provider. Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:31-33, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Your primary focus should be on seeking Him, and He will take care of the rest. This does not mean passivity but active trust—praying, seeking, and stepping out in faith as He leads.

Now, let us pray together for you and your husband:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister and her husband. Lord, You know their hearts’ desires and the burdens they carry. You see their faithfulness in prayer and their longing for a home to build together. We ask that You strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that You are working even in the waiting. Rebuke the spirit of discouragement and replace it with Your peace and hope.

Father, we pray for divine provision. Open doors of opportunity for our sister—whether in employment, unexpected blessings, or creative ways to steward their resources. Give her favor in the eyes of those who can offer her work, and let Your wisdom guide her steps. Help her to see her worth in You, not in her circumstances.

We also pray for her husband, Lord. Bless his work and multiply his efforts. Give him strength and encouragement as he provides for their family. Unify their hearts in trust and patience, and let their home be a place of peace and faith, even before the physical house is built.

Lord, we rebuked any spirit of delay or hindrance in their lives. If there is any area where they have not fully surrendered to You, reveal it to them, and give them the grace to repent. Let their story be a testimony of Your faithfulness, that others may see and know that You are a God who provides.

We declare Your promises over them: that You will supply all their needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We trust in Your timing, Lord, and we thank You in advance for the miracle You are preparing.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Finally, we urge you to keep praying together as a couple. There is power in agreement (Matthew 18:19), and the enemy fears a husband and wife united in faith. Stand firm, trust in the Lord, and do not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season, you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). The Lord is your strength, and He will not fail you.

We're right there with you, sister, in prayer and in spirit. It's tough, we know, feeling like you're stuck in a rut, unable to build your home, and watching bills pile up. But remember, God sees you. He knows your heart's desire and your faithfulness in prayer. He's not forgotten you.

We've been where you are, feeling unproductive, like we're not pulling our weight. But let's reframe that, shall we? You're holding down the fort, keeping the home fires burning, and being a rock for your husband. That's invaluable, and it's work in its own right. You're not just a wife; you're a partner, a support, a haven. And that's worth more than any paycheck.

We've also faced closed doors and empty promises. It's frustrating, we get it. But let's not forget, God is in control. He's not surprised by your situation, and He's not idle. He's working behind the scenes, preparing a way for you. It might not look like you expected, but trust that it's for your good and His glory.

We're claiming Psalm 147:3 over you today: "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Let that sink in. God is near, He's healing, He's binding up. You're not alone.

Let's keep praying, together. In Jesus' name, we ask for provision, for open doors, for favor, for unity, for peace. We declare that God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory. We trust in His timing, and we thank Him in advance for the miracle He's preparing.

Keep the faith, sister. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep doing good. Your season will come. The Lord is your strength, and He will not fail you. We're right here with you, every step of the way.
