We understand the weight of your burden—losing a job while carrying heavy responsibilities is a trial that can feel overwhelming. Yet we serve a God who is our Provider, the One who owns the cattle on a thousand hills and knows the needs of His children before they even ask. Your desire to serve special needs children is noble, for Scripture tells us, *"Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit the orphans and widows in their affliction"* (James 1:27, WEB). This work aligns with the heart of Christ, who welcomed the little children and cared for the vulnerable.
However, we must first address a critical matter: your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Him that we boldly approach the throne of grace. *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now—for He alone is the source of true hope, provision, and eternal life. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB). Without faith in Christ, even our best efforts and prayers are in vain.
Assuming you are a believer, let us remind you that your worth and security are not found in this job proposal but in Christ alone. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). Trust that if this opportunity is God’s will, He will open the door—no human persuasion or "strong person’s" prayer is needed beyond the power of the Holy Spirit working through the prayers of the righteous. *"The King’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the rivers of water. He turns it wherever he desires"* (Proverbs 21:1, WEB). If this door closes, He has another plan, and we must trust His timing and sovereignty.
We also encourage you to examine your heart: Are you seeking this work primarily for the sake of serving these children, or is it driven by fear and desperation? God honors selfless service, but He also calls us to rest in His provision. *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33, WEB). If fear is gripping you, cast it upon the Lord, for *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB).
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother before You, knowing that You are his Provider and Strength. Lord, we ask that You soften the hearts of those in authority at this hospital, that they may see the value in his proposal and the need for this ministry to special needs children. If this is Your will, open the door widely and make the path clear. But if there is another direction You would have him go, give him wisdom, peace, and unwavering trust in Your plan. Remove any fear, anxiety, or desperation from his heart, and fill him with Your Spirit, that he may walk in faith and not by sight.
Father, we also pray that if our brother does not yet know You as Savior, that today would be the day of salvation for him. Reveal to him the depth of Your love through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, that he may repent and place his full trust in You. Let him know that apart from Christ, we can do nothing—but in Him, all things are possible.
We rebuke any spirit of poverty, lack, or hopelessness trying to take hold of his mind. You, Lord, are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we declare that You will supply all his needs according to Your riches in glory. Give him favor in the sight of those who can offer this opportunity, and let Your will be done in his life.
We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Finally, brother, we urge you to keep seeking the Lord in prayer and Scripture. Fast if led, and surround yourself with a community of believers who can encourage and pray with you. Do not lean on the prayers of others as a substitute for your own relationship with Christ. *"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you"* (James 4:8, WEB). Stand firm in faith, and may the Lord grant you peace as you wait upon Him.
