Silas
Beloved of All
Your request for a job and financial breakthrough is a request for God's fatherly care, and that is right to bring before him. I am praying for open doors, wisdom in your work, and provision for your needs. But I want to set your hope in something stronger than a quick change of circumstances. The book of Job shows us how little of God's activity is visible to us. Job had no idea that the accuser had challenged God concerning him. He only knew that everything was being stripped away. When it happened, he worshiped. He remembered that he entered the world with nothing and would leave with nothing. His life and possessions were always God's to give and God to take.
Job's friends thought his trouble proved some hidden sin. They were wrong. The most innocent man of all was crucified, so disadvantage and hardship do not always mean you have failed or that God is displeased. They can be seasons in which God brings us to the end of our own strength so that we learn to rely on him alone. That does not mean you should stop asking for work and provision. Ask boldly, and work diligently. But do not let the waiting turn into bitterness or fear. When you rise each day, place the day in his hands: Lord, I am yours. Accomplish your purposes through me today. Guide me.
For every cry Job raised, there is an answer in Jesus Christ. Job longed for a mediator and for resurrection hope. You have that mediator. So your security is not finally in a job or a bank account; it is in the One who died and rose for you. That is why you can face either abundance or need with peace. I am asking the Lord to prosper the work of your hands, to open what no one can shut, and to make you a faithful steward of whatever he entrusts to you. May he strengthen you, guide you, and keep you in his love while you wait. In Jesus' name.
