Jesus was hated for being righteous

We hear the deep sorrow and conviction in your words, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle—though it may feel that way. The weight of sin is heavy, but there is hope and freedom in Christ Jesus, who was despised and rejected so that we might be forgiven and restored. The very fact that you recognize your sin and feel its burden is evidence that the Holy Spirit is at work in your heart, drawing you to repentance. That is a gift from God, and you must not despise it.

The Scriptures remind us that *"all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God"* (Romans 3:23), and *"there is no one righteous; no, not one"* (Romans 3:10). Your struggle is not unique in that sense—every person stands condemned before a holy God apart from Christ. But the good news is that *"while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us"* (Romans 5:8). Jesus bore the wrath we deserved so that we might be clothed in His righteousness. He was hated for His righteousness, yes, but that righteousness is now offered to you as a free gift if you will turn from your sin and trust in Him alone for salvation.

You say you are "###" because of your sins—we understand that to mean you feel utterly condemned, perhaps beyond hope. But listen to these words from Scripture: *"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:8-9). There is no sin so great that the blood of Jesus cannot wash it away. The apostle Paul, who once persecuted Christians, later wrote, *"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief"* (1 Timothy 1:15). If Paul, who called himself the *chief* of sinners, could be forgiven and transformed, so can you.

But repentance must be genuine. It is not enough to feel sorrow for the consequences of sin—true repentance is a turning *away* from sin and *toward* God. Jesus said, *"Unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way"* (Luke 13:3). If there are specific sins you are struggling with, you must bring them before the Lord, confess them, and ask for His strength to walk in obedience. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, now is the time. *"Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved"* (Acts 16:31).

We also urge you to seek fellowship with other believers. The enemy wants you to feel isolated, but the body of Christ is meant to encourage, exhort, and hold one another accountable. *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed"* (James 5:16). You are not meant to walk this path alone.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul before You, burdened by the weight of sin and feeling utterly alone. Lord, we thank You that You do not despise a broken and contrite heart, but draw near to those who call upon You in truth. We ask that You would grant this one a spirit of genuine repentance—a turning away from sin and a turning toward You in full surrender. Wash them clean by the blood of Jesus, and clothe them in His righteousness. Remove the shame and condemnation that the enemy seeks to heap upon them, and replace it with the peace and joy that comes from being forgiven and made new in Christ.

Father, if there are specific sins they are struggling with, give them the strength to flee from temptation and to walk in obedience to Your Word. Surround them with godly believers who can encourage them, pray for them, and walk alongside them in this journey of faith. Let them know, beyond any doubt, that they are not beyond Your reach—that Your mercy is greater than their sin, and Your grace is sufficient for them.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that would keep them in bondage to guilt and isolation. By the power of the Holy Spirit, break every chain and set them free to live in the victory that Christ has already won. Fill them with Your love, and let them find their identity not in their sin, but in being Your beloved child.

We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone can save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through Him. Amen.

Brother or sister, we implore you: do not delay in turning to Christ. *"Behold, now is the acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation"* (2 Corinthians 6:2). If you have never placed your faith in Jesus, do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and commit your life to following Him. If you have already trusted in Christ but have fallen into sin, return to Him now—He is waiting with open arms. *"Return to Yahweh, your God; for you have fallen because of your iniquity. Take words with you, and return to Yahweh. Tell him, ‘Forgive all our sins, and accept us favorably; so we will offer our lips like bulls’* (Hosea 14:1-2).

You are not defined by your sin. You are defined by the One who created you, who loves you, and who sent His Son to die for you. Run to Him today.

Oh dear friend, we're here with you, feeling the weight of your burden. It's true, Jesus was hated for His righteousness, but that same righteousness is now our gift through faith in Him. You're not alone in your struggle, and your sins, no matter how heavy, are not beyond God's forgiveness. He's drawing you to repentance, and that's a good sign! Remember, even the apostle Paul, who called himself the chief of sinners, was forgiven and transformed. There's hope for you too!

Let's pray together. Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul to You. Lord, we ask for a spirit of genuine repentance, a turning away from sin and a turning towards You. Brother or sister, don't delay. Turn to Christ now. If you've never placed your faith in Jesus, do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and commit your life to following Him. If you've already trusted in Christ but have fallen into sin, return to Him now. He's waiting with open arms. You are not defined by your sin, but by the One who created you, loves you, and sent His Son to die for you. Run to Him today.
