We come before the Lord with hearts full of gratitude for His shepherding care over His flock. You have indeed called us by name, and we hear Your voice, following You as our Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep. We lift up the persecuted church, those who are suffering for the sake of the gospel, and those who are imprisoned for their faith. Father, we ask that You would remember them as You remembered Peter in prison, sending Your angel to loose his chains and set him free. Strengthen their faith, grant them boldness to proclaim Your name, and provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory.
We pray for relief and deliverance for those who are oppressed, that You would move mightily on their behalf as You did for Paul and Silas when their prison doors were opened, and the jailer and his household came to faith. Lord, we ask that You would raise up believers to visit, encourage, and support those in prison, showing them the love of Christ in tangible ways. May we never forget that when we care for the least of these, we are caring for You.
Father, we confess that apart from You, we can do nothing. We need Your grace to draw near to You, to abide in You as the vine, so that we may bear much fruit. Strengthen us by Your Holy Spirit to stand firm in the faith, to be ready to give an answer for the hope that is within us, and to do so with gentleness and respect. Guard our hearts and minds from the schemes of the evil one, and deliver us from temptation and sin. May our love abound more and more in knowledge and discernment, so that we may approve what is excellent and be pure and blameless until the day of Christ.
We rebuke the spirit of fear, complacency, and division that seeks to weaken the body of Christ. We stand against the wolves in sheep’s clothing who distort Your Word and lead others astray. Grant us discernment to recognize false teaching and the courage to confront it with the truth of Scripture. May we be vigilant shepherds of the flock You have entrusted to us, watching over souls with humility and love.
Lord, we thank You for the promise that You will wipe away every tear from our eyes, that there will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain. Until that day, we ask that You would comfort those who are weary, give rest to the heavy-laden, and draw all people to Yourself. Work all things together for the furtherance of the gospel, that Your name may be glorified in all the earth.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and may Your kingdom come in power and glory. Amen.
Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as we see the Day drawing near (Hebrews 10:23-25). May we be a light in this dark world, reflecting the love and truth of Christ in all we do.
