Jesus Prepared For Burial

JESUS PREPARED FOR BURIAL
Early in the morning, as he was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!†Immediately the tree withered. When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?†they asked. Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.†Matthew 21:18-22

Do you need to increase your faith this Holy Week and ask the Lord to remove all the doubt and unbelief from your heart? Will you read the scripture above again? Did Jesus really mean what He said? Yes, He always spoke truth. I pray that you will pray a prayer and choose to have faith and absolute confidence in the power of God to resurrect your dead marriage.

Are you reading the daily events of the Lord Jesus Christ this week? I find it very interesting, almost as if I am able to go back in time and observe what our Lord was doing each day and teaching His disciples. May you allow the Lord to speak to your heart in a special way these next few days.

Early Monday morning Jesus was hungry and wanted something to eat. So He stopped at a fig tree that had green leaves on it. He thought He would eat some fruit as it could have had an early crop of figs as it was not the season for the large crop. There was none on it. He cursed the fig tree. But Jesus was actually referring to the nation of Israel as being unfruitful and not listening to His message that He had been so earnestly teaching in the synagogues.

Let me ask you a question. Are you a fruitful Christian? Our Lord wants us to multiply and share the Good News of the Gospel to others. Jesus does not want our salvation to be a secret in our daily lives so that no one around you knows that you are a Christian. Are you keeping your faith and your Lord a secret? This week be sure to ask your loved ones and friends to go to church to one of your services on Resurrection Sunday to celebrate that Jesus Christ your Lord is alive!

Jesus also had a very powerful lesson in the midst of the fig tree, showing us that if we will walk and live in faith, believe and not doubt, there is no limit to what you can accomplish through the power of prayer. Are you walking in faith or living in doubt? Doubt and unbelief is coming from the enemy, Satan. Choose to walk in faith. Choose every day to follow your Lord Jesus Christ as the disciples followed Him wherever He went. One secret is to speak out loud to the Lord in prayer that you do believe He can throw your divorce in the deepest sea!

Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, that He said to His disciples, “You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.†Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people assembled at the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, and plotted to take Jesus by trickery and kill Him. But they said, “Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar among the people.†Matthew 26:1-5 (NKJV)

Jesus knew He was going to be betrayed and killed. He kept telling and warning His disciples what was going to happen. But they did not listen to His warnings, understand or believe what He was saying.

The Lord knows the pain that you are going through by being wounded, betrayed and rejected by your one flesh husband or wife. The Lord wants your marriage resurrected from the dead, restored and healed. Listen to His personal message for your marriage and believe what He is saying to you! Are you going to be like the disciples? Stop doubting and believe!

Now let me share what Mary did to Jesus that is recorded in all four books of the Gospels. Jesus, on Tuesday evening during Holy Week, went to Simon the Leper's home.

And when Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, a woman came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured it on his head as he sat at the table. But when his disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste? For this fragrant oil might have been sold for much and given to the poor.†But when Jesus was aware of it, He said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me. For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always. For in pouring this fragrant oil on My body, she did it for My burial. Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.†Matthew 26:6-13 (NKJV)

Imagine Jesus telling His disciples, the Mary who was Lazarus’ sister, would be remembered in the Bible for this act of love for her Savior. Mary that evening was demonstrating her deep devotion, gratitude and love she had for her Lord Jesus, but also thanking the Lord again for raising Lazarus back to life. But Mary was also preparing her Lord for His burial which God had ordained for that special moment. What a miracle of God’s power and glory which was displayed to so many people. No one really understood all the events that were going to happen in such a short time.

Will you sacrifice and fast one meal a day this week, asking the Lord to revive your dead marriage and the marriages of men and women around the world? Remember what Mary did for her Lord.

This week pray and seek the Lord to break the stronghold of fear. Ask the Lord to remove all your doubt and unbelief and choose to walk in faith every day. Will you believe that your Lord will resurrect your marriage? Will you wait for your Lord's perfect timing? Will you stand forever? Nothing is impossible with God. Let us pray for a mighty harvest of souls on Resurrection Sunday!

Be blessed and believe,
