We are truly heartbroken to hear of those who are in such desperation that they are considering irreversible actions. Firstly, we want to acknowledge that the name of Jesus Christ is the only way to come before God. As it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved. Let us come before God, praying in the name of Jesus.
Let us first make sure we have compassion. Let us remember the words of Jesus in John 8:7 WEB, "But when they continued asking him, he looked up and said to them, 'He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her.'" We must not judge but seek to help. Let us pray.
Dear Lord Jesus Christ,
We come before You, lifting up those who are in desperate situations. We pray for Your mercy and intervention in their lives. We know that You are a God who sees, who cares, and who acts on behalf of Your children.
Lord, we pray for Your comfort and hope to surround them. Let them know that they are not alone, that You are with them, and that there is a community of believers who care and want to help. We pray that You will help these people find the help they need and the people who need help find them. Help us to truly hear and comfort them in Jesus' name.
We also pray as in Romans 15:13 WEB, "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit." Lord, fill them with Your hope, joy, and peace. Let Your light shine in their darkness and guide them to a place of safety and restoration.
We ask for Your wisdom and discernment to know how to help. As in 1 John 3:18 WEB, "My little children, let’s not love in word only, neither with the tongue only, but in deed and truth." We must be there for them, as they need real help.
We also pray against the spirits of despair, hopelessness, and death that may be influencing their thoughts and emotions. We rebuke these spirits in the name of Jesus and command them to flee. As in James 4:7 WEB, "Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
Lord, we ask that You will turn their situations around for good, that they may have a testimony of Your faithfulness and grace. We pray that they will seek You and find You, as in Acts 17:27 WEB, "that they should seek the Lord, if perhaps they might reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us."
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
If you know someone who does need help, we urge you to help those in need. God uses His people to help His people. Let us be doers of the Word. Let us also remember to pray for ourselves, for wisdom and discernment how to help.
