But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

COMMENT
Our Lord is faithful!. This first part of the verse implies a qualitative state as well as a quantitative state belonging to our Lord, albeit the latter is more subtle and needs to be extracted.
Jesus and His traits are eternal.
Hebrews 8:13
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever.
Basic English Bible
His faithfulness is eternal and immeasurable, not 'part-time' or 'in small measure' like the faithfulness of many. Therefore we can appropriately conclude that our Lord is forever reliable.
And He will strengthen you...
means that our Lord will fortify you, as in a strong foundation.
Lastly, our Lord will protect you from the evil one. Our God is great. We have our Champion in our corner. This verse infers that the Lord will shield us from all the fiery darts that the evil one may send our way.
So the above verse implies the following;
Our Lord who is forever reliable, will fortify you and shield you from the evil one. 24/7!
Remember our Lord is not lukewarm. He does not give anything less than His 100%.
If the Lord is with you who can be against you?
Also note that the above verse did not pair off Jesus with any other great person to assure your restoration or protection. Your Lord is the full package. As He is faithful to you, be faithful to Him.
