We hear your urgent cry, "Jesus is coming back! Are you ready?", and we join you in trembling before the weight of this truth. The signs of the times are unfolding before our eyes: wars, rumors of wars, famines, earthquakes, the love of many growing cold, and the gospel preached to all nations (Matthew 24:6-14). The Bridegroom is near, standing at the door (Revelation 3:20), and the question is not if He will return, but when. Are we living as though this is our reality?

First, let us address the foundation: salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" To be ready for His return, one must be born again, repenting of sin, believing in the finished work of Christ on the cross, and surrendering to Him as Lord. Have you personally placed your faith in Jesus, or are you still relying on religion, good works, or your own righteousness? The Bible warns, "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 7:21). Being ready means having a living, active relationship with Christ, not just knowing about Him.

If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we plead with you to do so now. The hour is late, and the door of grace will not remain open forever. Romans 10:9-10 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). Do not harden your heart.

For those who are in Christ, we must examine our lives with sober judgment. Are we living in holiness, or have we grown complacent? The apostle Peter warns, "Since all these things will be destroyed like this, what kind of people ought you to be in holy living and godliness, looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God?" (2 Peter 3:11-12). The return of Christ is not a distant theory, it is our blessed hope, and it should shape how we live today. Are we storing up treasures in heaven, or are we chasing the fleeting pleasures of this world? Are we sharing the gospel with urgency, or are we silent out of fear? Are we walking in purity, or are we entangled in secret sins?

We rebuke the spirit of lukewarmness that has crept into the church. Jesus said to the church in Laodicea, "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth" (Revelation 3:15-16). This is a terrifying warning! The Lord is not looking for half-hearted devotion, He demands our all. If you have grown indifferent to His return, repent now. If you have been distracted by the cares of this life, lay them down. If you have been ashamed of the gospel, ask for boldness. The time for playing church is over.

Let us also address the state of the world. The moral foundations are crumbling, and wickedness is being celebrated as virtue. But we must not despair, for the Lord is still on His throne. Psalm 2 reminds us that the nations rage and the kings of the earth plot against the Lord, but He laughs at their futile rebellion. The day is coming when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11). Until then, we are called to be salt and light, standing firm on God’s Word without compromise.

To those who are weary, take heart. The apostle Paul writes, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up" (Galatians 6:9). The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37). Do not grow discouraged, keep praying, keep witnessing, keep loving, and keep living in anticipation of His return.

Now, let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of awe and reverence, for the day of Your Son’s return draws near. Lord Jesus, we long for You to come, even so, come quickly! Forgive us for the times we have lived as though You were not returning, for the moments we have prioritized the temporary over the eternal. Purify our hearts, O God, and ignite within us a holy fire that cannot be quenched. Give us a sense of urgency to share the gospel with the lost, to live in holiness, and to store up treasures in heaven.

We rebuke the spirit of complacency in the church. Wake us up, Lord! Shake us from our slumber and help us to live each day as if it were our last. For those who do not yet know You, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Soften their hearts, open their eyes, and draw them to Yourself. May they confess Jesus as Lord and be saved before it is too late.

We also pray for strength and boldness for Your people. In a world that hates the truth, give us courage to stand firm. Protect us from deception, and help us to discern the times. May we be found faithful when You return, not weighed down by sin or distracted by the things of this world.

Come, Lord Jesus! We wait for You with expectant hearts. May Your kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. Amen."

Stay vigilant, dear brothers and sisters. The night is far gone; the day is near. Let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light (Romans 13:12). Maranatha, come, Lord Jesus!

When Scripture calls us to be ready, it's not asking us to have every theological question perfectly sorted out or to have achieved some flawless version of ourselves. It's the readiness of a child who trusts their Father to come home, who is simply living in the light of that expectation. The question isn't whether we've been impressive enough, it's whether we've been found in Christ, with our lives honestly turned toward Him. That's a posture we can return to anytime, even in the middle of a messy week.

So we're not here to pile on urgency or guilt. We're just glad you're asking the question aloud. It's the kind of question that has a way of gently rearranging what we care about today, not because we're afraid, but because we're loved, and we're waiting for someone we belong to.

Lord Jesus, You are our hope, and we are listening. Thank You for the promise that You are coming back. Help our friend to rest in that truth rather than wrestle with it, and let the certainty of Your return shape today with clarity and peace. Keep their heart simple and fixed on You. Amen.

How many a soul is troubled with that very question, and yet many mistake the answer! Readiness for Christ’s coming is not a perfection of repentance you must attain, nor a certain depth of feeling you must reach. If you look within for proofs, you will be tossed about with endless doubt. The ready soul is the one looking out of self to Christ. True repentance, the work of the Spirit, gives God glory; it is a sorrow for sin because sin is against such a loving God. It is not a horror of hell only, which might drive you to perish in despair, but a turning to Christ with a broken heart, trusting simply in His blood.

I charge you, do not seek to bring a certain measure of repentance before you venture to Christ. That is looking to yourself, and salvation is not there. He is exalted to give repentance and remission. Come to Him just as you are, and He will bestow upon you that repentance which is unto life. The least sincere repentance, if it makes you hate sin, and flee to Jesus, will save you, for it is His gift. And oh, what a mercy that we are not saved by our repentance, but by Him! If you trust even your repentance, you might as well trust your sins. The broad arrow of the King is upon this salvation: it is all of grace from its planning to its consummation.

So, are you ready? Then be always coming to Christ. Come for repentance, come for faith, come for a new heart, for you cannot make one for yourself. Look unto Him and be saved. That look is instantaneous; it is the simple means. And once you have looked, keep looking. Live in a lifelong perpetual coming to the living stone. The roll of your faith may be lost, but Christ is not lost. Go again to the cross. Obey the heavenly command: “Repent,” but know that it is a grace of the covenant, not a condition you perform. You will be ready when you are nothing, and Christ is all. May the Lord give you this true repentance, and keep you looking till you see Him face to face in the clouds. That will be your readiness and your eternal joy.

You cry out that Jesus is coming back and ask if we are ready. This is a holy fear, but do not let it be only a cry of the lips. The trumpet of His coming will indeed sound, and He will appear openly, in glory, not in a hidden corner as at His first advent. But what does it mean to be ready? It is not to stand idle, looking for signs, but to prepare the soul by a true and lasting repentance.

There is no second washing, no second sacrifice. The Cross stands once for all, and baptism cannot be repeated. Yet despair not, for the mercy of God has given repentance, and it has mighty force. It can restore even the one who has fallen into the depths of sin, if only he will lay hold of it. Do you ask, "Are you ready?" Then examine yourself. Do not put off amendment, as if some later season will be safer. Paul warned the Corinthians again and again before he came to them, not willing to punish, but hoping they would cleanse themselves through repentance, so that he would come in joy and not in severity. So Christ delays His coming now, giving time for you to gain boldness through a changed life.

To love His appearing is to live each day in such a way that you long for it without shame. He Himself has shown how: “If a man love Me, he will keep My words, and My Father and I will come unto him, and make Our abode with him.” Before that final, universal appearing, He desires to come to you in particular and dwell in your heart. This is your defense against that Day: that Christ already has found a home within you, and your deeds are worthy of His presence. Do not look about to rely on the prayers of others while you remain unrepentant. Moses, who rescued six hundred thousand from wrath, could not deliver his own sister when she fell into sin. The saints’ intercession avails most when joined to our own amendment.

Therefore, do not merely ask, “Am I ready?” but begin at once the work that makes you ready. Repent, confess, bring forth fruits worthy of amendment. Do not gaze open-mouthed toward the sky while neglecting the house of your soul. The same Lord who will come on the clouds has promised to come now to those who love His appearing by holy obedience. Let nothing unworthy remain within you, and you will greet that Day not with terror, but as the light of morning.

You’ve proclaimed a truth that thrills every believing heart: Jesus is coming back. That announcement is not just a slogan; it is the steady drumbeat of history moving toward its appointed climax. The prophets told of His coming, and sometimes they blended the first and second arrivals so closely that you could hardly tell where one ended and the other began. When He read from Isaiah in the synagogue, He stopped mid-sentence because the rest waits for that future day, the day of vengeance and full restoration. We have seen the part where He came to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, despised and rejected. Now we live in the space between, looking toward His appearing with power and great glory.

So that question echoes through the ages: Are you ready? Not just intellectually agreeing, but having your soul anchored in what He accomplished for you. Readiness is not about calculating dates, as some have tried, or getting caught up in headlines about cashless systems and approaching shadows. Those things do call us to lift up our heads because our redemption draws near, but the core of being ready is found in simple, devoted trust. You are ready when Jesus Christ holds the preeminent place in your life, not just on your lips but in the actual decisions and affections of your day. He does not merely point to a path and say, “Walk in it.” He indwells you and gives you the very capacity to walk in purity and hope.

That hope itself transforms you. Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. You face the prospect of His coming not with terror, but with eager expectation, because your sins have been totally pardoned and forgiven. You are complete in Him. When He appears, you will not be found trying to prove yourself worthy; you will be found in Christ, clothed in His righteousness alone. The promise of His return is not a source of frantic speculation but of steady comfort. As one apostle wrote to a young church he barely had time to apprentice, the return of Jesus became a refrain at the close of every chapter, a hope, a joy, a crown of rejoicing. He wanted them to know that their togetherness at the Lord’s coming was the great prize.

Beware of voices that try to rob you of this. There are scoffers who say, “Where is the promise of His coming?” and give up entirely. Others deny that He is coming in the flesh at all, teaching that His return is some invisible, spiritual event. That is a deception; Scripture calls it the spirit of antichrist. He will come bodily, just as He ascended. One day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, and it will split in two. This is the blessed hope, the appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. It is not a hidden, secret thing but a loud return with every eye seeing Him.

So, what does it mean to be ready right now? It means you are not looking for the antichrist; you are looking for your Lord. You are not paralyzed by the darkness of the night, for the night is far spent. You live in a posture of return: “Return unto me, and I will return unto you.” If there are places where your heart has wandered, make them right. Let nothing supersede the reality of Jesus Christ being first. As you wait, you can know with certainty that on that day, even during the great tribulation, whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. That is the open door. You came here with the question on your lips, so let it settle deep: you are ready not by your own effort, but by abiding in Him. May you abound in all things in Christ Jesus as you watch for that glorious appearing.
