Jesus Christ please help my daughter

Dwsariator

Servant of All
Dear God please help my beautiful daughter to be able to make enough money as a personal fitness trainer that she went to school for and that she wants to be to help people improve their life. I'm sad to know that it's mostly about the money to earn to be able to support yourself and your family. I too have to be able to earn enough money to be able to take care of my family My wife and our adult kid's i have a good job but it's very hard and very stressful and I have a lot of anxiety and I drink too much alcohol to relax and to numb my stress and anxiety and I know that it's only making things worse for me but I keep doing it over and over and over again because I am s semi functioning alcoholic. Please help me and my family and my coworkers and my bosses and my customers and especially my wife because we both drink too much alcohol and we keep doing the same thing over and over and over again. I hope that you can help me be a better person and a better husband and a better dad and a better employee to help my wife and my family and my employer. Please help me at work tomorrow to be able to get to work on time and not to have AWS because of my AUD. Please don't give up on me. Please forgive me and please help me. I love you God and your son Jesus Christ my lord and Savior. Amen 🙏

We hear your cry for help, and we join with you in lifting up your family to the Lord. Your honesty about your struggles with alcohol, anxiety, and the weight of providing for your family is both courageous and humbling. We see the love you have for your daughter, your wife, and your family, and we stand with you in prayer, knowing that God’s grace is sufficient even in our weaknesses.

First, we want to affirm your acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, this is the foundation of all hope and transformation. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is by His power that we are set free from the bondage of sin, including the grip of alcohol. Scripture tells us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). The Lord is not distant from your struggle; He is near, and He is ready to deliver you if you will surrender fully to Him.

Your daughter’s desire to use her gifts as a personal fitness trainer to help others is a noble calling, and we pray that the Lord would open doors of opportunity for her to thrive in this work. Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, "Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed." We pray that God would provide for her financially as she steps out in faith, trusting Him to meet her needs. At the same time, we encourage you both to seek contentment in Christ, remembering that "godliness with contentment is great gain" (1 Timothy 6:6). Money is a tool, but it is not the source of joy or security, only Christ is.

Your struggle with alcohol is not one you must face alone. The Bible warns us, "Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). This is not to condemn you, but to remind you that the path you are on leads to destruction, and God desires something far better for you. The good news is that "such were some of you, but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God" (1 Corinthians 6:11). There is freedom in Christ, and we pray that you would experience it fully.

We rebuke the spirit of addiction in your life and in your marriage. Alcohol has become a false refuge, a counterfeit peace that only deepens the cycle of bondage. Jesus said, "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly" (John 10:10). The enemy wants to steal your joy, kill your health, and destroy your family, but Jesus came to give you life, true life, free from the chains of addiction. We pray that you and your wife would turn away from this stronghold and seek the help you need, whether through biblical counseling, a Christ-centered recovery program, or accountability within the body of Christ.

Your desire to be a better husband, father, and employee is a godly one. The Lord is pleased with this heart posture, and He will strengthen you as you seek Him. Philippians 4:13 declares, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." But this strength comes through dependence on Him, not through self-effort or the numbing effects of alcohol. We pray that you would find your rest in Christ, casting all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Tomorrow at work, we pray that the Lord would grant you clarity, peace, and the ability to overcome withdrawal symptoms by His power. Lean on Him, for "He gives power to the weak. For those who have no might, He increases strength" (Isaiah 40:29).

We also lift up your wife, that she too would find freedom from alcohol and that your marriage would be restored to the unity and love that God intends. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up." You and your wife are meant to support one another, not be ensnared together in the same destructive patterns. We pray that you would both seek the Lord’s healing and restoration.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family to You. Lord, we thank You for the love this father has for his daughter, his wife, and his family. We ask that You would open doors of provision for his daughter as she seeks to work in the field You have called her to. Provide for her needs, Lord, and let her see the fruit of her labor as she helps others improve their lives.

Father, we cry out for deliverance for this man and his wife from the bondage of alcohol. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus’ name and ask that You would break its power over their lives. Replace their dependence on alcohol with a dependence on You, the only true source of peace and strength. Give them the courage to seek help and the humility to receive it. Heal their bodies, minds, and spirits from the effects of this struggle.

Lord, we pray for this man’s work tomorrow. Grant him the strength to arrive on time, free from the grip of withdrawal. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let him experience Your presence in a tangible way. Help him to be a light to his coworkers, bosses, and customers, reflecting Your love and grace in all he does.

Father, restore this marriage. Let husband and wife draw closer to You and to one another, supporting each other in faith and love. Heal any wounds caused by this struggle and renew their commitment to one another and to You.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone has the power to break every chain and set the captives free. May this family experience Your transforming love and walk in the freedom that only You can provide. Amen.

You are not alone in this battle. The Lord sees your struggle, and He is calling you to a life of freedom and purpose. Take the first step today, confess your need for help, reach out to a trusted believer or a biblical counselor, and begin the journey of walking in the victory that Christ has already won for you. You are loved, and there is hope.

We can hear how heavy the weight is on you right now, the stress of work, the worry for your daughter, the guilt and exhaustion of the cycle you and your wife are caught in. Thank you for being this honest. It takes real courage to lay all of that out and ask for help, even in a prayer. You’re not alone in this fight, and the ache you feel to be a better husband, dad, and man is something God will honor as you take even small steps forward.

A lot of what you describe, the relentless anxiety, the drinking to numb it, the regret that follows, is an exhausting loop that many people get trapped in. The drinking temporarily quiets the stress, but it ends up making everything harder: sleep, mood, focus, relationships, and especially the strength to show up the way you want to at work and at home. You’ve already named that you know it’s making things worse, and that’s not a failure; it’s a clearing in the fog where real change can start.

Because alcohol withdrawal can be physically serious, and because your anxiety has been running so high, we’d gently encourage you to talk with a doctor or a Christian counselor. They can help you address the anxiety safely and figure out a plan to step back from drinking without risking your health. Alongside that, a support group like Alcoholics Anonymous or a faith-based recovery group could connect you with people who truly understand the struggle and can walk with you. Your wife may need her own support as well, but your first step is to reach out for yourself. That’s not weakness, it’s how God often answers prayers like yours, through the hands and wisdom of others.

We’re praying with you now: Father, thank you for this man’s honesty and his deep desire to change. Quiet his heart with your mercy, and give him the courage to take one concrete step today, whether it’s a phone call, an honest conversation, or simply not drinking this hour. Surround him and his wife with people who can help carry the load, and provide for his daughter’s work in your timing. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Your mind is tossed upon a sea of care, but to what end? “Do not be so affected by external things as to get into a state of worry, fretfulness, care, anxiety and distress.” You have never yet discovered that anxiety has comforted anybody, or brought any grist to the mill. The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Your daughter’s path and your own provision weigh upon you, but fretting spins no thread for the garment of tomorrow. There is a heavier chain yet, and you have named it: the cup that numbs but never heals. You drink, and drink again, and know it makes things worse, yet round and round you go. This is the bondage of a soul that seeks rest anywhere but at the pierced feet.

Turn your ear away from the clatter of your own resources. “There is forgiveness.” Let this whisper drive away despair. Not for the respectable alone, but such a forgiveness as is surprising, for God speaks as if He Himself were astonished that such sins should be remitted. Where God draws no limit, do not you draw any. Yours is no small debt, but the forgiveness is as broad as the offense. “However sinful your life may have been up until now, there is forgiveness with God even for you.” The forgiveness is not earned by reformation; it is first, and the returning to the Lord is urged as a consequence of that forgiveness. One more step in your own strength and you may be where there is no forgiveness, but where the black and terrible pall of despair shall hang over your soul forever. But now, now at this moment, forgiveness is proclaimed in Christ Jesus.

You are anxious to run away from Him, but that is where the forgiveness is, with God. Where the offense went, from that very place the forgiveness comes. The Lord Jesus Christ forgives in a continuous manner, an eternal forgiveness that does not afterward accuse. He not only forgave us at the first all our sins, but He continues daily to forgive. This shows how divine is the forgiveness which we have received. Cease your vain attempts to quiet your own storm; let your one anxiety be to be laid at His feet that He may look upon you and say, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.” Do not wait until you get home. The shepherd had an extraordinary joy in his flock through the wandering and recovery of that one sheep. There is a new joy in heaven over the lost who is found. You love your daughter, you love your wife, you long to be a better husband and father. This is the narrow door through which you must all come: the absolute, irreversible forgiveness that is with God through Jesus Christ. As you receive it, so shall you find power to extend it and to lay aside the weight that so easily besets. “Even as Christ forgave you, so also do you.” The forgiveness of those who offend against us is gloriously ennobling, and it begins by seeing how much manifest forgiveness we ourselves have received.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The anxiety you feel for your daughter’s income and your own labor springs from a root that no amount of money can calm. You pray that she make enough as a trainer to support herself, and you toil under heavy burdens to provide for your family, yet the more you strive after these things, the more the thirst for security grows. This is the nature of disordered desire: it cannot be healed by addition, only by subtraction. If a man had an absurd wish to fly, you would not cure him by fashioning wings; you would convince his mind that the thing is impossible and so extinguish the passion. In the same way, the lust for money and comfort is not quieted by gaining more, for it knows no limit. It is easier to fly than to satisfy this lust by feeding it. You must draw your soul away from the craving itself, or you will never find peace.

The drinking you describe, both in yourself and your wife, is another form of the same sickness. You drink to numb the stress, yet you know it only makes matters worse, and you repeat the act over and over. The Apostle does not forbid drinking, but drinking to excess, not making provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts. When you drink to escape anxiety, you are using wine not for health but for wantonness, kindling a flame that consumes your reason and weakens your will. The present life is a sleep, and the things in it are no different from dreams. A man who does something shameful in a dream is freed from disgrace when he wakes. But in this waking world, the shame and the punishment do not vanish when the cup is empty; they remain and multiply. You call yourself a “semi-functioning alcoholic,” yet you are fully bound by a chain you forge again each evening. Break the dream by seeing it for what it is: a cloud gathered upon the eye of your soul, blinding you to the daylight of God’s grace.

For your daughter, do not teach her by your own anxiety that money is the measure of life. Encourage her to use her skills to serve others and to trust God for daily bread. If she bears tightness of means thankfully, the Lord Himself may in time restore all that is needed, just as He blessed Job after he proved he served God for nothing but love. And even if earthly comfort does not come, the reward of a patient spirit is greater. The same holds for you: cast the care of tomorrow onto the Lord. Each day has enough trouble of its own; why do you force today to carry tomorrow’s burden as well? The Master who forbids anxious thought for the morrow does so from tender love, desiring to free you from superfluous sorrows.

Above all, do not think God has given up on you. He is not standing over you with the axe, ready to strike. He sends you the message of John the Baptist: remission of sins, the taking away of punishment, righteousness, adoption, and the abundant supply of the Holy Spirit. He baptizes with fire not to consume you but to burn away the dross of passion and fill you with vehement, uncontrollable grace. Only bring a willing heart. Cease making provision for drunkenness, and make provision instead for health of body and soul. When the desire for drink arises, turn your mind at once to prayer or to some good work, and the evil humor will begin to clear. You are not alone in the struggle, and the Lord does not despise a broken and contrite cry. He who said, “Use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake,” will give you the strength to use it as medicine only, and not as a master. Return to Him this very hour, and you will find that the same mercy you ask for your daughter is already outstretched to lift you and your household out of this pit.
