Dear God please help me I'm worried about losing my job. I'm trying to handle the work at my current shop and also handle the work at another shop as a project manager and an estimator. I need to be able to get many invoices sent off tomorrow to help my company get paid for the work others have done on a job that another person estimated and that person quit over 5 months ago and that person underestimated the job and our company is going to lose a lot of money. I still have AUD because I keep wanting to get back home every day after work and lay on my bed and drink alcohol and pretend that it's going to be ok. But I have alcohol withdrawals and I shake and sweat and my brain is very foggy from drinking alcohol. I am an old man and I can't afford to retire. I need your help God please help me be able to take care of my wife and our adult kids. Please help me be a better husband and a better dad and a better employee to help my bosses and my coworkers and my customers. Please help me have a good night's rest and sleep so that I can make it back to work tomorrow morning on time and in a good condition to get my projects and proposals and invoices done correctly and on time. I don't want to lose my job and I don't want to have to go find another job. Please help me be able to keep our home and please soften the hearts of my wife and my bosses and my coworkers and my customers to help me. Thank you for not giving up on me and thanks to Jesus Christ my lord and Savior for helping me. Thank you for this service that allows others to pray for me. I really appreciate everyone who prays for me. God bless you 🙏

We hear your cry for help, and we come before the throne of grace with you in this moment of deep struggle. Your honesty about the weight you’re carrying, both at work and in your heart, reveals a man who loves his family and wants to honor God, even when the path feels impossible. We see the fear of losing your job, the exhaustion from overwork, and the grip of alcohol that has taken hold of you, clouding your mind and stealing your peace. But we also see a heart that is turning to the Lord, and that is where true hope begins.

First, we must address the alcohol, for it is not just a habit, it is a stronghold that is warring against your body, your mind, and your spirit. The Bible warns us clearly: "Do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18 WEB). The withdrawals you’re experiencing are a sign of bondage, and we rebuke that spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus Christ. You cannot serve two masters, you cannot rely on alcohol for comfort and expect to walk in the strength and clarity God intends for you. We pray that the Lord would break every chain of dependence and fill you with His Holy Spirit, who brings true peace, wisdom, and self-control.

Your work situation is overwhelming, and it’s clear that you’re carrying burdens that were never meant to be yours alone. The enemy would love for you to believe that the fate of your company rests solely on your shoulders, but Scripture reminds us: "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22 WEB). You are not responsible for the mistakes of others, but you are responsible for your own actions and your reliance on God. We pray that the Lord would give you supernatural focus and stamina to complete the tasks before you, but also that He would soften the hearts of your employers to recognize the impossible load you’ve been given. If it is His will for you to keep this job, He will make a way. If He has another path for you, He will open that door in His perfect timing.

Your heart for your wife and children is precious to the Lord. You desire to be a better husband and father, and that is a prayer God delights to answer. The Bible instructs husbands to "love their wives, just as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it" (Ephesians 5:25 WEB). This kind of love is not passive, it requires sacrifice, patience, and a willingness to change. We pray that the Lord would give you the strength to lead your family with gentleness and wisdom, to listen to your wife’s heart, and to be present for your children in ways that reflect Christ’s love. Your family needs you, not the version of you numbed by alcohol, but the man God created you to be.

Tonight, we pray for rest. Not just sleep, but the deep, restoring rest that only God can provide. "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 WEB). We ask the Lord to quiet your mind, ease your body, and fill you with His peace as you lay down to sleep. May you wake refreshed, clear-headed, and ready to face the day with the strength that comes from Him alone.

Most importantly, we rejoice that you have called on the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is His blood that cleanses us from all sin. If you have never surrendered your life fully to Him, we encourage you to do so now. Confess your sins, repent, and invite Him to be the Lord of every area of your life, your work, your marriage, your struggles, and your future. He is faithful to forgive and to restore.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, lifting up every burden he has shared. Lord, You see the weight he carries, the fear of losing his job, the exhaustion from overwork, the grip of alcohol, and the love he has for his family. We ask that You would break every chain of addiction in his life. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, so that he no longer turns to alcohol for comfort but finds his strength and peace in You alone. We rebuke the spirit of dissipation and declare that he is set free in the name of Jesus Christ.

Father, we pray for his work situation. You know the impossible load he has been given, and we ask that You would intervene. Give him supernatural focus and wisdom to complete the tasks before him, and soften the hearts of his employers to recognize the burden they’ve placed on him. If it is Your will for him to keep this job, make a way where there seems to be no way. If You have another path for him, open that door and give him the courage to walk through it.

Lord, we lift up his marriage and his family. You have called him to love his wife as Christ loves the church, and we ask that You would give him the strength to lead with gentleness, patience, and selflessness. Help him to be present for his children, to listen to their hearts, and to reflect Your love in all he does. Restore what has been broken, and let Your healing flow over his home.

Father, we pray for rest tonight. Quiet his mind, ease his body, and fill him with Your peace. Let him sleep deeply and wake refreshed, ready to face the day with the strength that comes from You. Remind him that he is not alone, You are with him, and You will never leave him nor forsake him.

We thank You, Lord, that our brother has called on the name of Jesus, for there is power in that name. We pray that he would surrender every area of his life to You, his struggles, his fears, his hopes, and his future. Fill him with Your hope, Your joy, and Your purpose. Let him walk in the freedom that is his through Christ Jesus.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is with you, and He is fighting for you. Take one step at a time, seek help for the alcohol, lean on the Lord for strength at work, and trust Him to restore your family. You are loved, and your future is in His hands.

We’re standing with you right now, brother, and we can feel the weight of what you’re carrying, both the pressures at work and the heaviness in your heart. There’s something so raw and honest in your prayer, and we see how much you love your family and want to honor God, even when things feel impossible. You’re not just asking for help; you’re showing us your heart, and that’s where real change begins.

Let’s talk about the sleep first, because right now, you’re exhausted, and that exhaustion is making everything harder. We’ve all been there where the mind feels foggy, where the body shakes from lack of rest, and where even getting through the day feels like climbing a mountain. But God doesn’t want you to fight this alone. He’s calling you to rest tonight, not just to sleep, but to let go. Imagine waking up tomorrow with a clarity that only comes from His peace settling over you. We’re praying that as you lay down, the Spirit would wrap around you like a blanket, quieting the noise in your head and reminding you that you’re not alone. You’re His child, and He’s got this.

And brother, we hear you when you say you don’t want to lose your job. That fear is real, and it’s gripping tight. But here’s what we know: God doesn’t give us burdens we can’t handle, but He does give us the strength to handle the burdens He does give us. You’re not responsible for fixing the mistakes of others, but you are responsible for how you respond to what’s in front of you today. We’re praying for supernatural focus, like God giving you the right words to say, the right files to prioritize, the right way to present these invoices so that everything gets done and your bosses see the heart behind your work. And if this job isn’t the path He has for you, we’re praying for wisdom to know when to stand firm and when to walk away with grace.

But let’s be real, you’re also carrying something heavier than just work. There’s a pull, a longing, that’s been trying to fill a void in you, and we see how that’s been affecting everything else. You’re an old man at heart, and you’re trying to protect your family, but the way you’ve been trying to numb the pain isn’t working. It’s stealing your rest, your clarity, and your joy. We’re not here to judge or shame, we’re here because we’ve been where you are, and we know the only way out is through. Jesus doesn’t just want to help you stop drinking; He wants to fill you with something better, His peace, His joy, His strength. We’re praying that tonight, as you surrender this struggle to Him, He would show you a way forward, step by step. Maybe it’s reaching out to someone you trust, maybe it’s asking for help, maybe it’s just taking it one day at a time. But we’re praying for a breakthrough, brother. For you to wake up tomorrow and feel like the chains are lighter, like the fog is clearing, and like for the first time in a long time, you’re breathing.

And your family, oh man, your family needs to see you whole. They need to see the man God made you to be, not the version of you that’s been trying to hold everything together on your own. We’re praying for your wife’s heart to soften, for her to see the love you’re trying to show her even when it’s hard. We’re praying for your kids to feel secure, to know that their dad is strong, not because he’s perfect, but because he’s covered by God’s strength. And we’re praying for you to step into that role with confidence, not fear. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to trust Him to walk with you.

So tonight, as you pray, we’re praying right alongside you. We’re asking God to meet you in the quiet, to speak to you in ways that only He can. And we’re declaring over you that you are enough, enough to be a husband, enough to be a dad, enough to face tomorrow. You’re not failing. You’re just human, and God’s got you.

Keep praying, brother. Keep trusting. And know that we’re cheering for you.
