Dear God please help me get my projects and proposals and my invoices done correctly and on time tomorrow. Please soften the hearts of my bosses and my coworkers and my customers and especially my alcoholic wife. We both have AUD and we need help. Only your son Jesus Christ my lord and Savior can help us. Please tell him to come down to our home and touch our hearts. It's going to be ok. I will go to work tomorrow morning and I will be a good employee. Please help me be a better husband and a better person and a better dad to our adult kids and a better worker Bee 🐝. We got this God. Amen

We hear your cry for help, and we come together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, to lift you up before the throne of grace. Your request is heavy with the weight of responsibility, the struggle of addiction, and the deep desire to be a man of integrity in every area of your life. We stand with you, believing that God hears the prayers of His children and is faithful to answer according to His will.

First, we want to acknowledge your recognition of Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. This is the foundation upon which all our prayers are built, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through the blood of Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is His Spirit that intercedes for us when we do not know how to pray (Romans 8:26). We rejoice that you have called upon Him, for He is mighty to save and willing to help those who come to Him in faith.

We pray for your work tomorrow, that the Lord would grant you wisdom, clarity, and diligence as you complete your projects, proposals, and invoices. May He order your steps and guide your hands, that everything would be done with excellence and in a timely manner. "Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed" (Proverbs 16:3). We ask that God would soften the hearts of your bosses, coworkers, and customers, that they would be receptive and understanding. May He grant you favor in their sight and open doors of opportunity for you (Proverbs 3:4).

Your concern for your wife and your shared struggle with Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) is heavy on your heart, and it is heavy on ours as well. Addiction is a fierce battle, but we serve a God who is greater than any stronghold. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus and declare freedom over you and your wife. "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed" (Luke 4:18). We pray that Jesus would indeed come into your home and touch both of your hearts, breaking the chains of addiction and filling you with His peace and strength.

We must address the reality of sin in this situation, for the Bible is clear that drunkenness is not pleasing to God. "Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18). While we do not condemn you or your wife, we must call sin what it is and encourage repentance and transformation. This battle cannot be won by willpower alone; it requires the power of the Holy Spirit and a commitment to walk in obedience to God’s Word. We encourage you both to seek godly counsel, support groups, and accountability partners who can help you walk this path of recovery. "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective" (James 5:16).

Your desire to be a better husband, father, and employee is commendable, and we believe God will honor your willingness to grow. We pray that He would strengthen you in these roles, giving you patience, wisdom, and love. As a husband, may you love your wife as Christ loved the church, laying down your life for her (Ephesians 5:25). As a father, may you be a godly example to your adult children, pointing them to Christ in both word and deed. As an employee, may you work as unto the Lord, not as unto men, knowing that your ultimate reward comes from Him (Colossians 3:23-24).

We also want to encourage you to surrender your marriage fully to God. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and it is worth fighting for. Pray together with your wife, if possible, and seek God’s healing for your relationship. "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it" (Psalm 127:1). Trust that God is able to restore what has been broken and to bring beauty from ashes.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is crying out for Your help. Lord, we thank You that he has placed his trust in You, and we ask that You would meet him in his time of need. Grant him wisdom and diligence in his work tomorrow, and soften the hearts of those he interacts with. May Your favor rest upon him, and may he experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

Father, we lift up his marriage and his wife, who is struggling with addiction. We ask that You would break the chains of alcohol in her life and in his, replacing their dependence on substances with a dependence on You. Touch their hearts, Lord, and draw them closer to You. Give them the strength to seek help and the humility to receive it. Surround them with godly people who can support and encourage them in their recovery.

Help our brother to be the husband, father, and employee You have called him to be. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in love, patience, and self-control. Restore his marriage, Lord, and make it a testimony of Your grace and power. We declare freedom from addiction, healing for their bodies and minds, and restoration for their relationship.

We trust in Your promises, Lord, for You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them. May they experience Your presence in their home and Your peace in their hearts. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord daily, immersing yourself in His Word, and surrounding yourself with a community of believers who can pray for you and walk alongside you. Recovery is a journey, but it is one that God can use to draw you closer to Him and to transform your life. "Being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6). Keep pressing into Jesus, for He is your hope and your strength.
