We hear your heartfelt cry for help and transformation, and we stand with you in prayer, seeking God’s mercy and grace in every area of your life. First, we want to acknowledge your honesty and humility in confessing your struggles—this is the first step toward true change. The fact that you called on the name of Jesus Christ is powerful, for it is only through Him that we find forgiveness, strength, and renewal. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."

Your struggle with alcohol and the way it affects your marriage is a serious matter, and we must address it with truth and love. The Bible warns us in Ephesians 5:18, "Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit." Alcohol, when misused, can lead to sin, broken relationships, and a hardening of the heart. It is not just a personal struggle but one that impacts your marriage, your family, and your walk with God. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in your life in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that you are not powerless, for "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). But this battle will require surrender, accountability, and a commitment to change. Have you considered seeking help through a biblical counselor, a support group like Celebrate Recovery, or even medical assistance to break free from this stronghold? True repentance means turning away from what harms you and those you love.

Your desire to be a better husband, father, and employee is commendable, and we believe God honors that desire. However, we must also address the root of the issue: your words and actions under the influence of alcohol are sinful, and they wound your wife deeply. Proverbs 15:1 says, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." The way you speak to your wife, especially when drinking, is not aligned with how Scripture calls husbands to love their wives. Ephesians 5:25 commands, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it." This means speaking life, not death; building up, not tearing down. We pray that God would give you the strength to control your tongue and to honor your wife as the precious gift she is.

We also lift up your marriage in prayer, asking God to heal any wounds caused by your words and actions. Your wife is your covenant partner, and your marriage is a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church. We rebuke any bitterness, resentment, or division that has crept into your relationship. Instead, we pray for a spirit of unity, forgiveness, and mutual respect to reign in your home. Colossians 3:13-14 says, "Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection." May your marriage be a testimony of God’s grace and restoration.

Regarding your work, we understand the pressure you feel to provide for your family, and we pray for God’s favor and wisdom in your projects, proposals, and change orders. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We pray that God would give you clarity, efficiency, and excellence in your work so that you may finish your career strong and retire with peace. We also ask that He would move on the hearts of your bosses to approve and release your bonus check, and that the EDD SDI department would process your benefit payment without further delay. God is your provider, and He will not forsake you.

Your health is another area of concern, and we are grateful that you are recovering from your surgery. We pray for complete healing in your spine and legs, and for restful, peaceful sleep. Psalm 127:2 says, "It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones." We declare that God will sustain you and give you the strength you need each day.

Finally, we want to remind you of the power of God’s forgiveness. You mentioned your sins, faults, and mistakes, and we want you to know that God’s grace is greater than all of them. 1 John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." But forgiveness also requires a turning away from sin. We encourage you to take practical steps to break free from alcohol, such as removing it from your home, seeking accountability, and filling your life with godly influences. Replace the time spent drinking with prayer, Scripture, and fellowship with other believers who can encourage you in your walk with Christ.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this brother and his family. Lord, we thank You for his honesty and his desire to change. We ask that You would break the chains of addiction in his life and give him the strength to overcome the temptation to drink. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he may walk in self-control and wisdom. Father, we rebuke the enemy’s lies that tell him he is powerless or that he cannot change. We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus (Romans 8:37).

Lord, we pray for his marriage. Soften both of their hearts and help them to communicate with love and respect. Heal any wounds caused by harsh words or actions, and restore unity and joy in their relationship. Teach them to love one another as You have loved them (John 13:34). Father, we also pray for their adult children. May they see the love of Christ in their parents and be drawn closer to You.

At his workplace, Lord, we ask for Your favor and wisdom. Help him to complete his projects with excellence and to find favor with his bosses and coworkers. Provide for his financial needs and bless the work of his hands. We also pray for his health, that You would continue to heal his body and give him restful sleep.

Father, we thank You for Your forgiveness and grace. Help him to walk in repentance and to turn away from sin. Surround him with godly influences and accountability. May his life be a testimony of Your transforming power. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We encourage you to take action today. Confess your struggle to a trusted friend or pastor, seek help for your alcohol use, and commit to honoring your wife with your words and actions. God is faithful, and He will meet you in your weakness and turn it into strength. Keep pressing into Him, and do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). You are not alone in this battle.

Dear friend, we're here for you. We understand that change is hard, but with Jesus by your side, nothing is impossible. We're praying for you, asking God to help you overcome your struggle with alcohol. We believe in your ability to change and be the husband, father, and employee you desire to be. Let's claim these Scriptures together:

* Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
* Ephesians 5:18 - "Do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit."
* Proverbs 15:1 - "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."
* Ephesians 5:25 - "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it."

We're also praying for your marriage, that God would heal any wounds and restore unity and love. We're asking Him to bless your work, give you wisdom, and provide for your needs. And we're thanking Him for His forgiveness and grace in your life.

Remember, you're not alone in this. We're here for you, and God is always with you. Take action today by confessing your struggle to a trusted friend or pastor, seeking help for your alcohol use, and committing to honor your wife with your words and actions. Keep pressing into Jesus, and don't grow weary in doing good.

We're believing in you, and we're here to support you every step of the way. Let's keep praying together, and let's see God move in your life.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. Please Heavenly Father help remove the spirit of needing alcohol and this habit. Please also grant favor and peace of mind at work. Please also guide and protect ###. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬
