We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this burdened soul to our Heavenly Father. First, we thank God for the acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior—this is the foundation of all our prayers and the only way we can approach God with confidence (John 14:6, Ephesians 2:18). We rejoice that you have placed your faith in Him, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Father, we see the weight of this request—struggles with anger, alcohol, relationships, work pressures, and the deep desire for peace and reconciliation. We cry out to You on behalf of this dear one, asking for Your mercy and healing. The Word tells us, *"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger"* (Proverbs 15:1). Lord, we ask that You soften hearts—both in this marriage and in the workplace. Where there has been bitterness, let Your love flow. Where there has been strife, let Your peace reign. We pray for restoration in this relationship, that both husband and wife would seek You first and honor the covenant of marriage You have established (Ephesians 5:22-33, 1 Corinthians 7:10-11).
We must address the matter of alcohol with boldness, for it has clearly brought harm to this marriage and this life. Scripture warns us, *"Do not get drunk with wine, which leads to debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit"* (Ephesians 5:18). The anger, the forgotten words, the regret—these are fruits of a struggle that must be surrendered to Christ. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus’ name and declare freedom over this one. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray for deliverance from alcohol use disorder (AUD) and for a renewed mind, that this one would no longer be mastered by anything but would walk in the victory Christ has already won (1 Corinthians 6:12).
Father, we also lift up the workplace concerns—projects, proposals, change orders, and financial needs. We ask for wisdom, clarity, and favor. *"Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will be established"* (Proverbs 16:3). Provide the strength to complete tasks with excellence and integrity. We pray for the employer and the EDD, that they would act justly and swiftly to fulfill their obligations. And Lord, we ask for a new dispatcher to be brought into this workplace, someone who will serve with diligence and honor.
For the adult children, we pray Your protection, provision, and guidance. May they walk in Your ways and find their hope in You alone (Jeremiah 29:11).
We also lift up the physical toll of this struggle—heart, liver, and mind. The body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and we pray for healing and strength. Guard this one from further harm and lead them to wise medical and spiritual counsel.
Father, we ask for rest—true rest, the kind that comes only from You (Matthew 11:28). Let this one sleep in peace, knowing You are in control. And when the morning comes, let there be joy, hope, and a renewed spirit.
We confess the sin of harsh words spoken in anger and under the influence of alcohol. *"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). We thank You for Your forgiveness and ask for the grace to extend that same forgiveness to others, even when hurtful words are spoken. Help this one to respond with love, not retaliation, remembering that *"love covers a multitude of sins"* (1 Peter 4:8).
Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against this marriage, this family, or this life will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We stand in the gap and pray for breakthrough—spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financially. You are the God who provides, heals, and restores. We trust in You alone.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, knowing that You hear us. We ask for Your healing touch upon this marriage, that love and respect would be restored. Break the chains of addiction and anger, Lord, and fill this one with Your Holy Spirit. Give wisdom in the workplace, favor with employers and customers, and the strength to complete every task with excellence. Provide for every financial need and bring the right people into this life to support and encourage. Heal the body, mind, and spirit, and grant restful sleep. We thank You for Your forgiveness and ask for the grace to walk in it daily. Protect this family, guide their steps, and let Your will be done in every area of their lives. We trust in You, Lord, and we give You all the glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
