We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for the work God has already done in your life. Praise be to Jesus Christ, who has delivered you from the bondage of alcohol, restored peace in your marriage, sustained your employment, and brought clarity to your thoughts. It is only by His power and mercy that these victories have been won, and we rejoice with you in His faithfulness.
The fear you described in your thoughts and feelings is not from the Lord, for Scripture tells us, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). The enemy seeks to torment the mind, but we stand firm in the truth that Christ has overcome the world (John 16:33). When anxious thoughts arise, we must take them captive and make them obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5), replacing fear with the perfect peace that comes from trusting in Him (Isaiah 26:3).
We also lift up your marriage before the Lord, thanking Him for the unity and kindness He has restored between you and your wife. Marriage is a sacred covenant, designed by God to reflect the relationship between Christ and His church (Ephesians 5:22-33). We pray that you both continue to grow in love, patience, and selflessness, always seeking to honor one another as Scripture commands. May your home be a place of peace, joy, and godly order, where your children see the love of Christ lived out daily.
Father God, we ask that You continue to strengthen this brother in his walk with You. Guard his mind from the lies of the enemy and fill him with Your truth. Help him to stand firm in sobriety, leaning on Your strength when temptation arises. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37).
We pray for his wife, that You would bless her with wisdom, grace, and a heart that seeks You above all else. May she find her strength in You, and may your marriage be a testimony to Your redeeming power. For their children, we ask that You draw them close to You, protecting their hearts and minds from the influences of this world. Let them grow up knowing the love of their earthly parents and, even more, the love of their Heavenly Father.
Lord, we thank You for sustaining his job and providing for his family. We ask that You continue to open doors of opportunity and give him favor in the workplace. May he be a light for You, showing integrity, diligence, and Christ-like character in all he does.
Finally, we rebuke every spirit of fear, addiction, and discord that seeks to disrupt this family. We declare that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We stand on the promise that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6).
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
