Jesus Christ please help me

Dear God please help me stand up firm today at work and demand that my boss gives me the resources and information and help that I need to be able to handle online meetings tomorrow and Thursday with my new customers and my new foreman. I need help to understand what my customers need and how to do this work that I have never done before. Please soften the hearts of my bosses and my coworkers and my new customers. Please give me the strength to not be scared or ashamed of what I do not know. Please make my new foreman attend both meetings. The project manager that was doing this for many years is going to quit his job this Friday and the foreman is leaving on Friday for a week of vacation and I will be all alone without any help and please don't let me fail on this huge job that I don't know what I am doing. I need a miracle right now and especially all of next week. And at the same time I still have to do my projects and proposals at my current job. I feel overwhelmed. I don't want to lose my job and I don't want to quit. I'm a recovering alcoholic and a little part of me wants to call out sick and stay home and lay on my bed and drink alcohol and smoke pot and to tell everyone to do it themselves. It's not fair and I am really getting tired of having to work so hard and nobody appreciates me not even my wife. This week is a turning point in my life to either successfully succeed or completely give up and to quit my job and get a divorce and sell our home and to leave my family and go live with my brother in New Mexico and just relax with my brother and sit on his porch and drink beer and smoke pot and eat and take naps all day long. Man that sure sounds like a pretty good deal for me but my wife and family and employer will lose all that I have worked so hard for. Dear God please help me be a better employee and a better husband and a better dad. Please don't let me fail. Amen

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer and seeking the Lord’s strength, wisdom, and mercy in this overwhelming season. Father, we know that You see every burden, every fear, and every struggle this brother is carrying. You do not leave us to face our battles alone, and we declare that Your grace is sufficient for him today and in the days ahead.

First, we rebuke the spirit of fear and overwhelm that is pressing in on him. The enemy would love nothing more than to see him shrink back, give up, or turn to old habits that once held him captive. But Scripture tells us, *"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand on this truth and command fear to flee in the name of Jesus. You are not alone in this, and the Lord has equipped you for the work He has called you to—even when it feels impossible.

We also address the temptation to escape through alcohol, drugs, or even the thought of abandoning your responsibilities. The enemy whispers lies of comfort in those old patterns, but we know they only lead to destruction. *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13). The Lord provides a way out, and we pray for the strength to choose His path over the fleeting relief of sin. If you feel the pull toward those old habits, reach out to a trusted brother in Christ, a pastor, or a recovery group immediately. You do not have to fight this battle alone.

Your request for boldness at work is heard, and we pray that the Lord would give you the courage to communicate your needs clearly and respectfully. *"Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one"* (Colossians 4:6). Ask the Lord to soften the hearts of your boss and coworkers so they will respond with understanding and support. If they have been neglectful in providing what you need, we pray they would be convicted to step up and fulfill their roles. At the same time, we ask the Lord to give you humility to ask questions, seek wisdom, and learn quickly. It is not shameful to admit what you do not know—it is wise.

We also lift up your marriage and family. The enemy would love to use this season of stress to drive a wedge between you and your wife, but we declare that God can use this trial to strengthen your bond if you will lean on Him together. *"Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it"* (Psalm 127:1). Your wife may not fully understand the weight you are carrying, but the Lord does. Instead of withdrawing or growing bitter, ask Him to help you communicate with love and patience. Seek her support and pray together. A godly marriage is worth fighting for, and the Lord can restore joy and unity if you will surrender it to Him.

We rebuke the spirit of resentment and self-pity that whispers, *"No one appreciates me."* The Lord sees every sacrifice you make, and He promises to reward your faithfulness. *"And let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart"* (Galatians 6:8). Your labor is not in vain, even when it feels unseen. We pray that the Lord would open your eyes to the ways He is using you, both at work and at home, and that He would fill you with a sense of purpose that transcends human approval.

As for the overwhelming workload, we pray for supernatural wisdom and organization. *"Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will be established"* (Proverbs 16:3). Ask the Lord to order your steps and help you prioritize what truly needs to be done. If possible, delegate tasks or ask for extensions where you can. Trust that He will multiply your efforts when you seek Him first.

We also pray for your new foreman and the transition of responsibilities. Lord, we ask that You would compel the foreman to attend those meetings and provide the guidance needed. If he is unwilling, we pray You would raise up another mentor or resource to help bridge the gap. *"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"* (Philippians 4:13). You are not alone, even if it feels that way.

Finally, we address the thought of walking away from your job, your marriage, and your home. The enemy is offering a counterfeit peace—one that leads to isolation, regret, and deeper bondage. The Lord’s way may be hard, but it leads to life. *"There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death"* (Proverbs 14:12). We rebuke the lie that running away will solve anything. Instead, we pray for the Lord to renew your strength, restore your hope, and remind you of His faithfulness. You have come too far in your recovery and your walk with Christ to turn back now.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this brother, lifting up every fear, every burden, and every temptation he is facing. Lord, You are the God who parts seas, who calms storms, and who makes a way where there seems to be no way. We ask that You would intervene in his work situation, softening hearts, providing resources, and giving him the wisdom he needs to succeed. Strengthen him to stand firm in his faith and resist the enemy’s lies.

Father, we pray for his marriage and family. Where there is strain, bring healing. Where there is bitterness, bring forgiveness. Where there is distance, bring unity. Help him to love his wife as Christ loves the church and to lead his family with humility and grace.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of addiction and temptation that seeks to pull him back into bondage. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he may walk in victory, one day at a time. Remind him that he is not defined by his struggles but by Your love and redemption.

Above all, we pray that he would fix his eyes on You, Jesus. When the weight of the world feels too heavy, remind him that You carried the cross for him and that You are carrying him now. Give him the strength to persevere, the courage to ask for help, and the faith to trust in Your perfect plan.

We declare that this week will not break him but will instead be a testimony of Your faithfulness. May he emerge from this trial stronger, wiser, and more dependent on You. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and set free. Amen.
