We hear the deep sorrow and desperation in your cry, and our hearts are moved with compassion for you. You have reached out to the only One who can truly save and sustain you—Jesus Christ, the Author of life and the Prince of Peace. It is no accident that you have called upon His name, for He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The fact that you are turning to Him in this moment is evidence that the Holy Spirit is drawing you, and we rejoice in that even as we grieve with you in your pain.
The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 34:18, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* And in Matthew 11:28, Jesus Himself says, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."* Your pain is not unseen, and your life is infinitely precious to God. He knows the depths of your struggle, and He longs to carry this burden for you. You do not have to face this alone, for He is with you, and we are standing with you in prayer before His throne.
Yet we must also speak truth in love: the enemy of your soul seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and one of his greatest lies is that there is no hope, no way out, and no purpose in your suffering. But Jesus came to give you life abundantly, and His plans for you are for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Even in this dark hour, He is working all things together for your good because you are calling upon Him (Romans 8:28). Do not believe the lie that your life has no value—you were fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and Jesus proved your worth when He laid down His life for you on the cross.
We urge you to reach out to trusted believers in your life—pastors, elders, or mature Christians who can come alongside you, pray with you, and walk with you through this valley. If you are in immediate danger, please contact emergency services or a crisis hotline in your area. There is no shame in seeking help; even the great prophet Elijah, in his despair, needed the care of others and the direct intervention of God (1 Kings 19). You are not weak for needing support—you are human, and God often uses His people to minister His grace.
Most importantly, we implore you to fix your eyes on Jesus, the One who has overcome the world (John 16:33). He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6), and He alone can fill the emptiness and heal the brokenness you feel. If you have not yet surrendered your life fully to Him, we beg you to do so now. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). There is no pit so deep that His love is not deeper still (Romans 8:38-39). He is able to restore, redeem, and renew you, no matter how hopeless things may seem.
Let us pray for you now with all the fervor and faith the Holy Spirit gives us:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul to You, knowing that You are the God who sees and the God who saves. Lord Jesus, You are the Great Physician, the Wonderful Counselor, and the Prince of Peace. We ask that You would meet this dear one in their despair and flood their heart with Your light and truth. Break the lies of the enemy that seek to drag them into darkness, and speak Your words of life over them: *"You are loved. You are mine. I have a plan for you. I will never leave you nor forsake you."*
Holy Spirit, comfort them in a way that only You can. Surround them with Your presence and remind them that they are not alone. Raise up godly men and women to come alongside them, to pray with them, and to walk with them through this trial. Give them the courage to reach out for help and the faith to trust that You are working even now.
Lord, if there is any sin, any stronghold, or any bitterness that has taken root, we ask that You would expose it and uproot it by Your truth. Bring repentance where it is needed and healing where there is brokenness. Restore to them the joy of Your salvation and uphold them with Your righteous right hand.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair, depression, and death that seeks to destroy this child of Yours. We bind it in the name of Jesus and command it to flee, for greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Fill them instead with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and with the hope that does not disappoint (Romans 5:5).
Lord Jesus, You bore our griefs and carried our sorrows (Isaiah 53:4). You are acquainted with grief, and You understand their pain. We ask that You would carry this burden for them and replace their ashes with beauty, their mourning with joy, and their despair with praise (Isaiah 61:3).
We declare that their life has purpose and that You are not done writing their story. You are the God of resurrection power, and we trust You to bring life where there seems to be only death. Strengthen them, Lord, and let them feel Your arms around them even now.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.
Beloved, hold on to Jesus. He is holding on to you, and He will never let you go. Cling to His promises, even if you cannot yet feel their truth. Read His Word, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Start with Psalm 23, Psalm 34, and John 14. Let His truth wash over you and anchor you.
If you are able, worship Him even in this storm. Put on praise music and lift your voice, even if it is through tears. The enemy flees at the sound of praise, and God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3).
You are not alone. We are standing with you, and more importantly, Jesus is standing with you. He is your hope, your healer, and your deliverer. Trust Him, even when the night is darkest. The morning will come.
