Disciple of Prayer
Jesus Christ please help me to not be scared anymore. I'm afraid of loosing my job and I need help at work. I need help with my alcohol and smoking pot use. Please fix my L4-L5 vertebrae because it's obliterated and it hurts. Please forgive me for my failures and help me change to be a better person and a better husband and a better employee. Please soften the hearts of my bosses and my customers and my coworkers. Please help my wife to be nice to me. God I need help 🙏

We come before the Lord with you in this time of deep need, lifting your heartfelt cries to the throne of grace, where we know our Heavenly Father hears and answers those who call upon Him in truth. You have done well to cry out to Jesus Christ, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His blood that we are forgiven and made new. As Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). Your acknowledgment of your need for Him is the first step toward the transformation and healing you seek.

We rejoice that you are seeking forgiveness and change, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your struggles with fear, addiction, physical pain, and relational strife are not hidden from Him. In fact, He invites you to cast all your anxieties upon Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Let us address each of these burdens together in prayer and with the truth of God’s Word, trusting that He will meet you in your weakness and lift you up in His strength.

The fear of losing your job is a heavy weight, but we remind you of Jesus’ words: *"Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? ... But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient"* (Matthew 6:25, 33-34, WEB). Your Heavenly Father knows your needs, and He is faithful to provide. We pray that He will grant you supernatural peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7) and that He will open doors of favor and opportunity for you at work. May He give you wisdom and diligence in your tasks, and may your bosses and coworkers see the excellence of your work and the gentleness of Christ in you.

Your struggle with alcohol and marijuana is a battle against the flesh, but take heart—*"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13, WEB). These substances have no authority over you, for you belong to Christ. We strongly rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus’ name and declare that you are no longer a slave to sin but a child of the Most High God (Romans 6:6). We pray that the Lord will break every chain of bondage and fill you with His Holy Spirit, giving you the power to walk in freedom and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). We encourage you to seek accountability with a mature believer or a biblical support group, and to replace these habits with the Word of God, which is your sword against temptation (Ephesians 6:17).

Your physical pain, particularly the degeneration of your L4-L5 vertebrae, is not overlooked by the Lord. He is Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals (Exodus 15:26). We pray for His healing touch upon your body, that He would restore and strengthen your spine, and that He would grant you relief from pain. Whether He chooses to heal you instantly or walk with you through this trial, we declare that His grace is sufficient for you, for His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Trust in His sovereignty, and lean on Him for strength each day.

Your desire to be a better person, husband, and employee is evidence of the Holy Spirit’s work in you. The Lord is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). We pray that He will mold you into the image of Christ, filling you with His love, patience, and humility. As for your wife, we pray that the Lord will soften her heart toward you and that He will restore unity and affection in your marriage. Remember, *"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it"* (Ephesians 5:25, WEB). Love her as Christ loves you—sacrificially, patiently, and with kindness. We also encourage you to lead your home in prayer and in the study of God’s Word, for a house built on the Lord cannot be shaken (Matthew 7:24-25).

Finally, we declare over you the truth of Lamentations 3:22-23: *"It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness."* Your past failures are forgiven in Christ, and He is making all things new. Walk in this freedom, brother, and trust that the Lord is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

**Let us pray:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is crying out to You in his distress. Lord, You see his fears, his pain, his addictions, and his longing to be made new. We thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer, and that nothing is too difficult for You.

Father, we ask that You would replace his fear with Your perfect peace. Remind him that You are his Provider and that You hold his future in Your hands. Grant him favor at his workplace, and soften the hearts of his bosses, coworkers, and customers toward him. Give him wisdom and excellence in his work, that he may glorify You in all he does.

Lord Jesus, You broke the power of sin and death on the cross, and we claim that victory over the addictions that have ensnared him. We rebuke the spirits of alcohol and marijuana in Jesus’ name, and we declare that he is free indeed (John 8:36). Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and give him the strength to walk in purity and self-control. Lead him to godly support and accountability, and renew his mind with Your Word.

We pray for healing over his body, Lord. Touch his L4-L5 vertebrae and restore what has been damaged. Let Your healing power flow through him, and grant him relief from pain. May he experience Your supernatural strength in his weakness, and may he testify to Your goodness in his life.

Father, we ask that You would transform him into the husband, employee, and man of God You have called him to be. Soften his wife’s heart toward him, and restore love, respect, and unity in their marriage. Help him to love her as Christ loves the Church, and give him the grace to lead his home in righteousness.

Lord, forgive him for his failures, and wash him clean by the blood of Jesus. Let him walk in the freedom of Your forgiveness, knowing that You have cast his sins as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). Renew his mind, restore his joy, and fill him with hope for the future.

We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. We trust that You are working all things together for his good and Your glory. Strengthen him, encourage him, and let him know that he is not alone—for You are with him always.

In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

Oh dear friend, we hear your cries and we're here with you. We're not just saying prayers, we're standing right beside you in this. You're not alone in this fight, and we're here to remind you of that.

First, let's take a deep breath together. Inhale the peace of God, and exhale the fear that's been holding you back. Remember, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He's not far off, He's right here with us.

Now, let's tackle those fears one by one. You're worried about losing your job, but remember, God promises to provide for our needs (Matthew 6:25-33). Let's pray that He'll open doors for you at work, and give you favor with your bosses and coworkers. Let's ask Him to fill you with wisdom and diligence in your tasks, so that they'll see the excellence of your work and the gentleness of Christ in you.

Next, those struggles with alcohol and smoking pot. We know it's a battle, but remember, greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Let's rebuke those addictions in Jesus' name, and declare your freedom in Him. Let's pray that He'll fill you with His Holy Spirit, giving you the power to walk in freedom and self-control. And let's ask Him to lead you to godly support and accountability.

Your back pain is also on our hearts. Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, sees your pain. Let's pray for His healing touch on your spine, and relief from that pain. Whether He heals you instantly or walks with you through this trial, we know His grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9).

You want to be a better person, husband, and employee. That's the Holy Spirit at work in you! Let's pray that He'll mold you into the image of Christ, filling you with His love, patience, and humility. Let's ask Him to soften your wife's heart towards you, and restore unity and affection in your marriage. And let's encourage you to lead your home in prayer and in the study of God's Word.

Finally, let's declare over you the truth of Lamentations 3:22-23. Because of the Lord's loving kindnesses, we are not consumed. His compassions never fail. They are new every morning. Great is His faithfulness!

So, let's trust in the Lord together, dear friend. He's working all things together for your good and His glory. You're not alone, we're in this with you. Let's keep praying, keep trusting, and keep walking in the light of His love.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
