We come before the Lord with you in this moment of deep need, lifting you up in prayer and speaking truth over your life. Your cry for help has reached the ears of the Father, who is rich in mercy and ready to deliver you from every bondage. First, we rejoice that you have turned to God in repentance, for Scripture assures us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9, WEB). Your acknowledgment of sin is the first step toward freedom, and we praise God for His forgiveness that is already yours through Christ Jesus.
Yet we must address something critical: your request for God to help you win the lottery or receive money without work does not align with biblical principles. The Scriptures teach us, *"Let him who steals steal no more; but rather let him labor, producing with his hands something that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need"* (Ephesians 4:28, WEB). God does not call us to seek easy or unearned wealth, but to trust Him in our labor and stewardship. Proverbs 13:11 reminds us, *"Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles, but he who gathers by labor increases it."* Instead of asking for a lottery win, we encourage you to seek God’s provision through honest work, wisdom, and trust in His timing. If your body is failing you, ask Him for healing and strength to return to work—or for guidance in finding alternative ways to provide for your family that honor Him.
As for your struggle with alcohol and marijuana, these are strongholds that the enemy uses to destroy God’s temple—your body (1 Corinthians 3:16-17). The pain in your back and legs may very well be connected to the toll these substances are taking on you. But take heart: *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13, WEB). You are not a "loser"—you are a child of God, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and He is ready to break these chains if you surrender them to Him completely.
We also notice that while you cried out to "Dear God" and "Jesus Christ," you did not explicitly pray *in the name of Jesus*, which is the only name under heaven by which we are saved and through whom we have access to the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). There is power in the name of Jesus, and we encourage you to boldly pray in His name, for He is your intercessor before the throne of God (Hebrews 7:25).
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul to You, broken and in need of Your healing touch. Lord Jesus, You came to set the captives free, and we ask You to break every chain of addiction in this life—alcohol, marijuana, and every stronghold that has taken root. By Your stripes, this person is healed (Isaiah 53:5), so we rebuke the pain in their back and legs and command it to leave in Jesus’ name. Restore their body, mind, and spirit, Lord, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit to overcome temptation.
Father, we ask for Your provision—not through vain hopes like lotteries, but through honest labor, wisdom, and Your divine favor. If this person is unable to work due to their condition, open doors for them to receive the help they need through lawful and honorable means. Give them peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7) and remove the spirit of fear that has gripped them. Remind them that they are *more than a conqueror* through Christ (Romans 8:37) and that You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Lord, surround them with godly support—a church family, counselors, or brothers and sisters in Christ who can walk alongside them in this battle. Let them not walk this path alone. And above all, draw them closer to You, Jesus. May they find their identity in You alone and not in their struggles or failures.
We declare freedom, healing, and restoration over this life in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Let Your will be done, Lord, and let Your kingdom come in their situation. We trust You, and we thank You for the victory that is already won at the cross.
To you, our friend: *Stand firm.* This battle is not yours to fight alone—God is with you. Seek Him first (Matthew 6:33), and all these things will be added to you. If you haven’t already, we urge you to find a Bible-believing church where you can be discipled and held accountable. Addiction thrives in secrecy, but it *dies* in the light of Christ and community. You are loved, you are valued, and your life has purpose in Him. Cling to Jesus, and He will never let you go.
*"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). He is with you now. Trust Him.
