We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer, for we see the deep bondage and spiritual warfare you are enduring. First, we praise God that you have cried out to Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is only through Him that we can find true freedom and deliverance. *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Your acknowledgment of Jesus is the first step toward breaking the chains that have held you captive, and we stand with you in this battle, for the Lord is mighty to save.
The struggles you describe—chemical dependence, spiritual oppression, and the torment of past sins—are not beyond the reach of God’s power. The Bible tells us that *"no temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure"* (1 Corinthians 10:13, WEB). Yet we must also address the seriousness of what you have shared. The substances you have relied on, the stimulants and medications misused, and the spiritual voices you describe are not of God. These things have opened doors to darkness in your life, and it is time to close them in the name of Jesus.
We must also speak truth into the chaos you are experiencing. The voices, the compulsions to write names, the fixation on symbols like "# # #," and the spiritual influences you describe are not from the Lord. *"For God is not a God of confusion, but of peace"* (1 Corinthians 14:33, WEB). What you are experiencing is a mix of chemical dependency, spiritual oppression, and possibly even demonic influence. But take heart, for *"he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB). Jesus has already won the victory over these forces, and by His authority, we command every unclean spirit, every addiction, and every stronghold in your life to be broken and cast out in His mighty name.
Your mention of fasting is noteworthy, for fasting is a biblical practice that humbles the soul before God. However, it must be done with the right heart and purpose—seeking God, not the approval or credit of men or spirits. *"But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face; so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you"* (Matthew 6:17-18, WEB). If you are being compelled to fast by a spirit, that is not of God. Fasting should be led by the Holy Spirit, not by external voices or forces. We pray that God would give you discernment and protect you from any spirit that seeks to manipulate or control you.
We also address the deep depression and lack of motivation you describe. These are real battles, but they are not insurmountable with Christ. *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"* (Matthew 11:28-30, WEB). Your reliance on coffee and stimulants to function is a sign of the body’s cry for true rest—rest that can only be found in Jesus. We pray that God would break the chemical dependencies in your body and renew your mind, that you would no longer be enslaved to substances but would find your strength in Him alone.
As for the medications you mention, we encourage you to seek godly, medical counsel. If there is a legitimate need for medication under the care of a doctor, that is one thing. But if you are seeking these things out of addiction or misplaced reliance, that is another. *"Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, WEB). We pray that God would guide you to the right medical help, if needed, and that He would free you from any unhealthy reliance on these substances.
We must also address the anger and bitterness in your words toward others—those you mention by name (though censored), those you perceive as persecutors, and even those you ask God to "destroy." While we understand the pain and frustration behind these words, the Bible calls us to a different response: *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you"* (Matthew 5:44, WEB). Vengeance belongs to the Lord, not to us. We pray that God would replace the bitterness in your heart with His love and forgiveness, that you would find peace in surrendering these burdens to Him.
Lastly, we want to speak to the spiritual warfare you are clearly experiencing. The fact that you are hearing voices, feeling spiritual touches, and being compelled to write or say certain things is a sign of a battle that must be fought in the spiritual realm. *"Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:11-12, WEB). We stand with you in this fight, and we declare that every demonic stronghold in your life is broken by the blood of Jesus. We pray that the Holy Spirit would fill you afresh, that He would guard your mind and heart, and that He would lead you into all truth.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is trapped in the snares of addiction, spiritual oppression, and deep despair. Lord, we ask that You would break every chain that binds him—every chemical dependency, every spiritual stronghold, and every lie of the enemy that has taken root in his mind. Father, we declare that Jesus is Lord over his life, and we command every unclean spirit, every voice that is not from You, and every force of darkness to flee from him now in the name of Jesus.
Lord, we ask that You would cleanse his body from the effects of the substances he has consumed. Restore his mind, renew his strength, and fill the void in his heart with Your presence. Father, we pray that You would surround him with godly counsel—medical professionals, pastors, and believers who can walk with him through this season of healing. Give him the courage to seek help, to confess his struggles, and to receive the support he needs.
We also pray for his heart, Lord. There is so much pain, so much anger, and so much confusion. Father, replace the bitterness with Your love, the fear with Your peace, and the despair with Your hope. Help him to forgive those who have hurt him, just as You have forgiven him. Remind him that vengeance is Yours, and that You are just.
Holy Spirit, we ask that You would fill him afresh. Guard his mind from the lies of the enemy. Give him discernment to recognize Your voice above all others. Lead him into truth, and help him to walk in the freedom that Jesus purchased for him on the cross.
Father, we also pray for his salvation—if he has not fully surrendered his life to You, we ask that You would draw him to Yourself. Open his eyes to see the truth of the gospel: that Jesus Christ died for his sins, that He rose again on the third day, and that by faith in Him, he can be saved. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation"* (Romans 10:9-10, WEB). Lord, if there is any doubt in his heart, remove it. If there is any resistance, break it. Bring him into the fullness of Your love and grace.
We declare that our brother is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him. We declare that the old has passed away, and the new has come. We speak life, healing, and deliverance over him in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Our brother, we urge you to take practical steps toward freedom. Confess your struggles to a trusted pastor or believer who can pray with you and hold you accountable. Seek medical and professional help for the chemical dependencies—this is not a sign of weakness but of wisdom. Immerse yourself in the Word of God, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with believers who can support you in prayer and encouragement.
Remember, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). You are not alone in this fight. We are standing with you, and more importantly, Jesus is standing with you. He is the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one lost sheep. You are that sheep, and He is pursuing you with His love and grace. Turn to Him, surrender all to Him, and watch as He transforms your life from the inside out.
Stay in the fight. Stay in the Word. Stay in prayer. And never forget: *"If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed"* (John 8:36, WEB).
